About us
UMAMI RAMEN & IZAKAYA is the very first fully vegan ramen restaurant in Montreal.
Thanks to the import of a Japanese machine for making noodles, the establishment makes its own homemade noodles from organic wheat, in addition to making its broths, Tsukemono, kombucha and sprouts! The restaurant offers several varieties of ramen and small classics of Japanese Bistronomy in a vegan version. Whether we think of okonomiyaki, gyozas, Agedashi tofu or even tempeh Tonkatsu, Cédric and his team are happy to present to you every day, from starter to dessert, these revisited Japanese classics... just a few exclusives straight out of our kitchens. And who says Izayaka, of course, says refreshing beers, sumptuous wines, intoxicating cocktails, delicate sakes and other fine wine products. At Umami Ramen, we experience cruelty-free gastronomy at its best!

Nous avons pris le repas dégustation ainsi que la dégustation de saké. Wow! Très belles assiettes, quantités généreuses, tout était succulent. Nous avons découvert la gastronomie vegan & les saké. Nous y retournerons sans aucun doute. Le service, assuré principalement par le magnifique Maxime, était impeccable. Il nous décrivait savamment tous les plats & les saké. Bravo à Maxime & à toute l'équipe du Umami!

This place is always consistent & fantastic with their food & has a great selection of sakés & Japanese whiskys. It's admirable how much they make from scratch & how interesting the flavours are, so I would love to see that translated into more temporary, seasonal dishes on the izakaya menu. The service can be up-&-down & it would be nice if the servers could recognize the names of certain dishes & alcohols as they're printed on the menu but I get that the staff is not being employed to speak Japanese nor to necessarily be specialty Asian sommeliers, but I've never had a bad or disappointing experience here.

très belle découverte. Menu dégustation à découvrir. Accord avec les saké en dégustation conseillé. Les desserts gagneraient à être repensés. Super service !

Magnifique local, avec une carte bien élaborée. Tout ce qu'on a essayé était réussi, ainsi que les cocktails.
