Amazing restaurant, & perfect for vegans & celiacs! Beautiful ambiance, lovely owners, & the best meal of my life! Everything is homemade & vegan & 99% of the menu is gluten free, & many of the recipes come from Abhi's grandmother. Absolutely delicious. They even have perfect gluten free chapati. Abhi (one of the owners) eschews gluten so it's very safe & the GF substitutes are beautiful. We had the potato & chickpea appetizer, the vegan chicken tikka masala, the black chickpea & black eyed pea ghassi (based on his grandmother's recipe!), jeera rice, gluten free chapati, & the rose panna cotta, which was like fairy food. Also had kombucha & tried the mango lassi with alcohol. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Wonderful vegan Indian restaurant. The servers were pleasant, the atmosphere was beautiful & relaxing & the food was authentic & delicious. I had the idli & a mango lassi (best I've ever had & I've been to many great Indian restaurants in the U.S. & India). Thank you for a delicious meal!
Hi everyone, I'm leaving a review here to encourage you to go explore the sunny dishes of Tula restaurant, a gem of an Indian Vegan restaurant on Saint Laurent right above Fairmount. I didn't know quite what to expect, & was enchanted by all of the depth of flavor, texture & deliciousness of all the dishes we tried.
Definitely try the Koshimbir salad, like a loaded coleslaw with a twist & a medley of tangy flavours & colours; cabbage, carrot, greens, pomegranates, mung beans/lentils, walnuts & a few edible flowers on top. So pretty & surprisingly hearty.
The vegan Tikka Masala with plant based'chicken' was so satisfying in flavor, colour & texture who would've known it was vegan. Just a delight in every bite.
Do not miss Grandma's Special Coconut Curry. It has everything in it to satisfy all of your taste buds, with beautiful fresh bright green peas, potatoes, plant-based protein & a golden yellow colour that warms your soul & leaves it glowing.
The Black Chickpea & Black-Eyed Pea Ghassi had just the right amount of warmth & was so tasty. So happy to have tried this unique dish. The Jeera rice was a perfect balance of cumin seeds & cilantro & the Chapatis were warm, soft & pillowy, so tasty & smelled good.. What is their secret?
Top it off with a tall glass of hibiscus & ginger, & you're good to go. The food was so clean, thoughtful, considered, packed some huge flavours & was wildly satisfying. Special thanks to Priyanka & Brenda for being such lovely hosts & for offering a fun & cohesive service. I can't wait to come back again to try more. Yay Tula!
Loved the food & the experience. It was packed on an early evening on a Sunday. Loved the Koshimbir & panna cotta, & I highly recommend it. Pleasantly surprised by the chapati, which was so much better than the roti you get at a general Indian restaurant. Grandma s Curry was flavorful. If you like more heat, ask for the hot sauce which is quite hot.
Came here during a trip. Lovely service in both English & en Français. We ordered 3 dishes (a couple of curries & a spinach dish), all were fantastic. Price including drinks was quite reasonable.
This was an amazing experience from the customer service to the delicious, flavorful food! We opted for the brunch platter, which Jasleen suggested & it was perfect. Jasleen was very helpful & passionate about the food. We will absolutely return!
Our experience was perfect from start to finish. It had the most amazing energy. The food was the best I've had at a restaurant as far back as I can remember. Brenda & Priyanka were the absolute loveliest!! Can't wait to come back soon ☺? 💚🌱
