We loved this restaurant so much. Every single item on the menu from mango lassi to vegan chicken to thali was flavorful & fresh. I couldn't believe everything was vegan & tasted so good (as most of the vegan places I've been to in the past have only had a few good items). The masala chai just sealed the deal after I devoured that yummy Thali. My 14 month old also went'mmmhhh' with every bite of the roti & tofu curry. I wish Abhishek (the owner) loads of good luck & success in expansion of his business & remain hopeful that he will consider bringing some of his vegan wisdom over the border to greater Boston area (we were visiting Montreal from here).
He is a very good host & paid attention to each & every one of his customers individually even though the restaurant is busy! He shared stories from his own life & listened to ours & made this experience so memorable that my son wouldn't want to leave his side lol.
Already looking forward to visiting Tula again when we do back to Montreal
We went for Sunday brunch. The server, a friend of the owner suggested we have the breakfast patter which was excellent. She explained each dish & her enthusiasm for the food was obvious. Everything was delicious. We are not vegan or vegetarian but looking for something other than traditional brunch offerings. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food service & atmosphere exceeded any vegan restaurant I've ever been to. Our server, Jaslin, was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu & ingredients, & her engaging personality made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Although the restaurant focuses on Punjabi cuisine, the creative twist in flavors made each dish feel fresh, original, & far more exciting than the typical fare, which often relies on just a handful of core spices. I tried the butter chicken & the rice pudding-both reimagined in a non-traditional way-& they were more flavorful & tantalizing than their classic counterparts. Plus, I was only in Montreal for one day to pick up my son from college, & this meal alone made the 7-hour drive from NYC completely worth it.

Amazing vegan restaurant. Would defintiely recomend the Bombay sandwich & masala tea (made with oat milk!).
The owner Abhishek, is extremely passionate about veganism & made us feel at home!
Tula is the best spot for healthy & nourishing all-vegan soul food. We had the set lunch plate - it was clear each dish in the set plate was carefully chosen & delightfully crafted, drawing from the owner's inspiration with home cooked meals growing up & passion for delicious vegan cooking. The atmosphere feels cozy & like home away from home.
Best Indian food l have had so far. Not oily, greasy & unnecessarily spicy. The owner mentioned TULA means balance in Sanskrit. The food is indeed very balanced. The decor is very interesting & they use compostable plant leaves based plates. There is some positive energy in TULA & a sense of satisfaction ✨? after dining in there. It's all vegan & healthy. My daughter studies in Montreal & we found a gem here just as we did in Toronto for Indian food. They even mentioned 99% of their menu is gluten free & serve gluten free chapatis if you wish to eat gluten free. The food is very healthy, balanced & yet so tasty. The place was packed & the owner handled a very annoying Indian lady very well. She was very lonely, demanding & very unfriendly.
Un must pour les personnes qui sont veganes ou adorent la nourriture indienne or both. C'est l'un des meilleurs restaurants indiens où je suis allée.
The most exceptional, creative, authentic & delicious cuisine I have had in Montreal, & that is beyond just vegan & Indian restaurants. Don't miss it!!
Tula is the best Indian restaurant & the best vegan spot in Montreal. Every dish is so delicious (special mention to the jackfruit biriyani & selection of curries) & the lassi & hibiscus tea, amazing! The food is impeccable & the owner is a pure joy. You feel the love in the food. I have many food sensitivities including celiac & I always feel great after eating here.
Good food full of flavor. Tried the brunch menu as well as the lunch thali which was good but overpriced in my opinion. I will repeat occasionally but I am not vegan & tofu is an acquired taste. I personally don't like the taste of tofu at all. In fact even though majority Indians eat vegetarian food on a daily basis, Indians are not vegan. Dairy consumption in India is very high & eaten with almost every meal in some form. It would have been nice if the owner also had dairy based vegetarian options like paneer at least. Overall I would say good food but overpriced & the vegan menu is a limitation for Indians who do consume dairy (vegetarian restaurant would have been better) but I understand the restaurant is differentiating itself by being a vegan restaurant
This place is such a gem. The food is delicious & healthy. Whole foods & finest ingredients. The owner greets every guest like close friend & family. His passion for healthy great tasting vegan food comes out. The inside is beautifully decorated. They offer a wide range of drinks, food ( from low spice to high spice), tasty desserts at a great price. Even the kombucha was great! Definitely check this place out when in Montreal.
The owner joyfully explained the entire menu to us. Tula's dedication to making delicious vegan Indian food shines through in every detail. We especially loved the achar tofu curry & the Ragda Pattice. This place deserves multiple visits.
Great meal & vibe. Owner is extremely nice & will talk you through the menu & give you his recommendations. My partner & I came from out of town & this was our favorite vegan restaurant we tried during the visit.
Delicious plant based / vegan dishes. Healthy & so flavorful. The mocktails were very tasty & the service was on point.
This restaurant serves very good vegan food. Thé owner & all the staff are really nice & welcoming. I had the Tali & one after the other the dishes were very tasty. I am very pleased to have stopped to eat at this Small restaurant (Seats 40 people) Thank you very mis h for your kindness
This is the BEST Indian food you will find in Montreal & even better that it is 100% vegan. The owner of the restaurant, Abhishek is so passionate, remembers mine & my family's previous meal orders & makes excellent recommendations based off of what we liked the last time. We always feel so welcome. With the excellent food & service, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Wish I could rate Tula more than 5 stars.
The staff are SO nice & the food is SO good. The menu is really fun & exciting! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Great for celiac & vegan & everyone else
