The owner of the restaurant, Abhishek is so passionate, remembers mine & my family's previous meal orders & makes excellent recommendations based off of what we liked the last time. We always feel so welcome. With the excellent food & service, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Wish I could rate Tula more than 5 stars.

5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had an excellent time in the restaurant. Indian vegan food at it's finest. So proud to see the passion of the owner & enjoyed his recommendations. Nice vibe. Great service.
Super excited & grateful to have a plant based & home made Indian wholesome food in Montreal. Great welcoming from the owner & quite happy to share this meal with a good younger friend & see these 2 elephants on our table, that mean abundance ! Food is just delicious with zero cruelty, suffering & murder. Thanks !
Amazing Vegan Indian Food at Tula! I had the pleasure of dining at Tula, & it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The chef's passion for creating flavorful, plant-based Indian dishes truly shines through in every bite. I tried the thali, which was an amazing combination of different flavors & textures, all perfectly balanced. The achaari tofu was especially mouth-watering, with a delicious tangy marinade that was perfectly spiced. Even the salad, with its fresh ingredients & flavorful dressing, was a standout. But the real showstopper was the sweet potato pudding - it was out of this world! A must-try for anyone visiting the restaurant. I can't recommend Tula enough for anyone looking for delicious vegan Indian food. Will definitely be back!
A Hidden Gem in Montreal's Vegan Scene - Bringing the Flavors of Maharashtra & the Konkan Coast In a city as culturally diverse as Montreal, it's no surprise that the food scene is a rich tapestry of global flavors. However, stumbling upon a humble vegan spot that not only caters to plant-based enthusiasts but also brings the authentic taste of India's Maharashtra state & the coastal Konkan region feels like discovering a hidden treasure. This little gem, lovingly curated by its passionate host, Mr. Abhishek, is one such find. Located in a quiet corner, this vegan joint may not boast flashy decor or a high-end setting, but the unassuming nature of the place only adds to its charm. The focus here is entirely on the food, & it's clear from the very first bite that this is where all the love & attention have gone. If you've ever been fortunate enough to explore the rich culinary traditions of Maharashtra, you'll recognize the flavors instantly. For those unfamiliar, you're in for an authentic, flavorful journey that will transport your taste buds directly to the Konkan coast. Maharashtrian cuisine, especially from the Konkan belt, is known for its delicate balance of spices, coconut, tamarind, & fresh, local ingredients. At this vegan spot, Mr. Abhishek has managed to recreate these authentic tastes while staying true to the plant-based ethos. What sets this place apart is its ability to transform simple, traditional ingredients into dishes that are not only delicious but also feel soulful. The care that goes into the preparation is evident, & Mr. Abhishek himself is always on hand to share the stories behind each dish. His passion for the food & his desire to introduce these flavors to the Montreal crowd shine through in every interaction. One of the standout dishes on the menu is the "Vegan Grandma Curry," a hearty & flavorful curry that uses coconut milk as the base, flavored with an array of spices that balance heat with sweetness. It's served with freshly made rice or roti, & each bite is packed with layers of flavor. While the food is a major draw, what truly makes this place special is the atmosphere. There's an undeniable warmth to the space, largely due to Mr. Abhishek's welcoming nature. He takes time to explain the nuances of each dish, often sharing anecdotes from his own experiences growing up in India's coastal regions. It's clear that this isn't just a business for him - it's a labor of love. Whether you're a seasoned vegan or someone curious to explore new flavors, you'll feel like you've been invited into Mr. Abhishek's home for a meal. In a city where vegan restaurants are becoming increasingly popular, this spot stands out for its authenticity & heart. It's not just about providing vegan food - it's about offering a true culinary experience that bridges cultures. The flavors are bold, the ingredients fresh, & the hospitality unmatched. If you're in Montreal & looking to broaden your vegan horizons, this is the place to be. In summary, this vegan joint isn't just a restaurant - it's a celebration of Indian culinary heritage, brought to life by the passion & dedication of Mr. Abhishek. Whether you're craving the bold spices of Maharashtra or simply want to enjoy a wholesome, plant-based meal, this place is a must-visit. You'll leave not only with a satisfied appetite but also with a deeper appreciation for the rich flavors of the Konkan coast.
The best vegan/Indian restaurant I've ever been to. The food was so good & the service was outstanding.
Loved this place. Never had Vegan food before that too in an Indian taste. I will surely be visiting again. The host Abhishek was amazing to attend & walk us through the menu. Great food ❤️
Tula is the ONLY restaurant in the city I would recommend for a great Indian food experience - even if you aren't vegan. Unlike most Indian restaurants that offer the predictable line-up of naans & paneer dishes, Tula's menu captures the diverse flavour profile of Indian cuisine - from North to South India. Clearly, a great deal of thought & effort have gone into crafting each dish. The original taste & texture are preserved (if not enhanced!) even with use of vegan substitutes . I highly recommend trying the thali on your first visit.
Tula is amazing!! I wish we had a plant base Indian restaurant like Tula in Salt Lake City, Utah. We were in Montreal 6 days & l ate here 3 lunches. It is absolutely delicious & healthy. Finding a restaurant where the owner cares about his patrons is rare. Abhi (I hope i got the owners name right) is so kind & goes out of his way to explain the dishes & makes you feel very welcome. The first day I ordered Lentil Idis with Samba & Chutney. My husband had the Brunch Platter. Everything was amazing & different than any Indian restaurant we had been before. I went back a few days later & had Grandma's Special Coconut Curry with Veggies & the GF Chapati. The curry was loaded with yummy veggies. I enjoyed it so much that I went again 2 days later for Grandma's curry!! You must try this restaurant!!
