Just the right amount of spice, not at all greasy & flavors so tempting all in one. The service is very attentive & the owner is very informed, knowledgeable & passionate, his positive energy rubs on to you. The menu is very carefully curated & l have been to TULA several times, for their monthly special THALI, evening Biryanis & Currys & weekend brunch, this is by far the best vegan restaurant in Canada! Their butter chicken & poutine too is mind blowing. The price is very reasonable compared to what you pay for junk food or bland & boring poke bowls full of emulsified oil sauces (which looks healthy but is it really once you pour those sugary or emulsified oil beautiful sauces on it?). LONG LIVE TULA! We must support & encourage this lovely local gem & pride of Montreal!
Undoubtedly the best Indian food restaurant in Montreal. I was waiting for a place like this to open since I moved to Montreal. 100% authentic tasting food & extremely welcoming service! If you're south Indian, you'd want to go here just for the sambar & chutney. If you're vegan & you've not been here yet - seriously, just drop everything & go eat at Tula now! I think I have finally found a place that does justice to Indian food!
Beyond my very high expectations. After being vegan 6 years & only eating our own home cooked indian cuisine (as well as I can replicate it), we can finally go to an authentic indian restaurant & eat healthy, tasty, spicy, out of this world flavorful food. We ate too much but have no regrets. Mago Lassi, Chai, Tikka Masala, Ghassi, Jeera Matar Aloo, Poryial & chicken biriyani 10/10. We took a bunch back home, service was great & prices are very reasonable. Staff & service is amazing. My new favorite restaurant.
Amazing food & it gives you a soothing & relaxing vibes. It is the best vegan Indian food that I have tasted in Montreal. There are so many dishes that I wanted to try to but can only stick to some. Tried their lunch combo(thali), vegan keema pav (vegan meat with vegan bread) & Grandma's curry with vegan chicken. It was all delicious & made feel of homemade cooked food the flavour & spices were all intact. Will definitely have to visit again to try other dishes.
The best vegan Indian restaurant my partner & I have ever been to! We came for brunch on the weekend & got the tasting menu & the idli. We were blown away by all of the dishes - balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, very home style cooking. The next day we came back for lunch & tried the lunch thali & goan shrimp curry. Once again, we left full & happy! Make sure to try the mango lassi & the masala chai! Cannot recommend this place enough. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
The food here is comforting, like ghar ka khaana. The chapattis are highly recommended, & the carefully curated menu featuring delicacies from the north, south, east, & west of India is innovative & unlike that of most other Indian restaurants. The owner is very knowledgeable about the food & you can see the care that goes into making each dish. 10/10!
Had the weekend brunch & it was amazing. Good, diverse vegetarian food, nice ambiance. Really enjoyed it. Not comparable to other cheap Indian restaurants that claim to be authentic. This on was spot on. Was recommended by my yoga teacher who spent time in India & apprentpy this is the only authentic one in Montreal. Looking forward to try out the full meals.
It's a must go to place for anyone who wants to try out different varieties & wants to have the Indian taste. Best recipes, best ambience & food.
Went there for brunch on Diwali & they sure made sure I don't miss India, with a vegan twist. Loved the idlies & Bombay sandwich! The mango lassie was the best I've ever had. Going back again for new years with my cousins! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! As a South Indian I definitely recommend Tula!
Not an indian food connoisseur, actually my first Indian spot ever & this spot definitely opened a door in my belly (& my mind). The second time I'll eat indian, the bar will be really high! This spot is too notch quality. Highly recommanded is the Vegan chicken when choosing a plate. 10/10
Fabulous meal, wonderful dining experience. Some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Biryani, Grandmas's curry, Indian panna cotta & sukka kaafi all excellent. Owner extremely warm, friendly & passionate about his food. Will be back there soon.
Good & filling vegan Indian food. The owner was very helpful & enthusiastic about the food, & had really good recommendations! They had a special Diwali menu with delicious Biryani
Tula is hands down the best Indian restaurant in Montreal. The food is delicious & the ambience is super cozy! I've by now probably tried everything on the menu & haven't had a single dish that wasn't good. My all time favourite's though are masala chai, sukku, mango lassi, Bombay sandwich, brunch platter, & elaneer paysam!
A must ! For Indian food lovers looking for authentic homemade plant based food.
Come in a group & let Abhi select your meal. You will not regret it!
We love Indian food & eat it often, but it’s challenging to find vegan versions of classics like mango lassi. Here we enjoyed lassis & butter “chicken”, chickpeas, & chapati but the star of the meal was rose pana cotta. It was extraordinary. I also had a hot ginger drink that was amazing. Wonderful experience!
I had high expectations due to the amazing reviews everywhere, idk if I caught them on a bad night but the butter chicken was nothing like the real thing. The chicken tasted so gooey, & the sauce is basically tomato sauce. I really disliked it. The tomato soup was really tasty & flavourful! The rice is a great portion! Overall, maybe I should try something else because I would definitely not order the butter chicken... :( Was a bit disappointing! But I love the effort of opening an all-vegan Indian restaurant in MTL!
Exactly what Montreal needed. Best Indian vegan restaurant in the city. Great experience
