I took my partner on a surprise date to this place & she loved it! What an amazing restaurant for authentic Indian food! You feel so close to having real home food which isn't oily or added with artificial colors. We ordered Mullygatwany soup, Koshimbir, Jackfruit curry, Sambar rice (my personal favourite) & hibiscus chai!! Everything was so delicious, flavourful & cooked perfectly! Ambience is so pleasant & refreshing. & of course the owner Abhi is such a passionate guy & he knows what he's doing & he takes care of the customers so well. We will definitely visit again. I highly recommend!
I had several dishes here. The description of the dishes versus the actual dish set a very high expectation & kinda left me to feeling, that was it? The spices & curries were very much on the acidic side & didn't seem to blend well on the palate. For an Indian resto, it was average. I would probably try again in the future, but as a first impression & with my past experience in cooking & eating Indian food, it was so so this time around
Tula is a must-try restaurant for Indian food with a serene ambience! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with calming spa-like music in a dining room filled with artistic decor & soft lighting. We were served by Abhi who welcomed us with such hospitality that we would go back just to hear more about the restaurant! We ordered the Jackfruit Biryani & the Vegan Butter Chicken Curry - both of which had incredible flavours. 10/10 would definitely visit again!
Recommended by the waiter, I ordered the Thali. It consist of salad, vegetable dishes, Indian bread, rice & dessert. The simmered dishes are very flavorful & fragrant. The Lassi relieve the palate from the spicy dish. A bit pricey for lunch but tasty.
First all-vegan Indian restaurant I've encountered! The coconut curry was delicious, & the owner is an incredibly amicable & down to earth man, clearly takes a lot of pride in his work. Took the time out of his busy job to chat about the city & explained the full menu. Best service ever!!
Is was amazing to experience vegan Indian restaurant with mouth watery flavor. I am impressed with the food, peace, ambience & ofcourse the welcoming nature of Abhishek (The host). Even if you are not vegan highly recommend.♥️♥️♥️
The best Indian food I've ever had! Our table ordered a variety of dishes - each one was unique, flavourful, & beautifully presented. The ambiance has a great vibe. The service is friendly & hospitable. The owner, Abhi, made the experience even better by taking his time to explain the menu & making you feel welcome. Highly recommended!
Amazing food very tasty & healthy. The best Indian food l have tried in Canada & by far the best vegan restaurant in Montreal. I'll come back with my family. Service is the best l have seen in Canada. Congratulation to the chef & the owner. Octavio
We were traveling to Montreal for a weekend & this was our last pitstop for a brunch & we are so happy we chose this place. The food is incredible, unique & shows how Indian cuisine has so much variety beyond the stereotype. Abhishek is so passionate & it reflects in their service & food. The brunch thali is a must try, the bombay sandwich was to die for, & the mango lassi blew my mind, because the very base of a lassi is milk & yogurt. & its amazing how a vegan place as this made the best one even with dairy substitute options. I can't wait to come here again in my next trip💪🏻❤️
Amazing flavorful & delicate Indian cuisine!!! Serve most dishes with gluten free options & be knowledgeable about gluten allergy situations. (They even have gluten free chapatis bread! Yummy) Definitely will come back very soon!
Tempered Idli's with Sambar was perfect with homemade taste. Must try for people who miss south indian idli & sambar. Brunch thali was balanced menu & each item had its own taste. Jack fruit biriyani is good for veg biriyani lovers.
Absolute gem of a place, especially for vegans. We had a lunch Thali here & loved it, especially the Dal. The restaurant does a great job of showcasing the rich variety & flavors of Indian cuisine on the plate. While it was flavorful, there wasn't a hint of oil dripping around in the Thali which is typically the case with Indian thalis. Very healthy & delicious. Will definitely try their brunch as well. It's a small space but still with a good seating capacity. We had a good conversation with the owner who personally went from table to table to have a chat with patrons & explain what's on the plate. The interior decoration is great. Parking can be a bit challenging since the spots in front of the restaurant are for delivery only & the rest of the street parking can be full. Definitely recommended!!
Exceptional flavors, authentic test. This vegan Indian gem delivers an explosion of taste in every bite. From savory curries to aromatic biryani each dish celebrates the richness of Indian cuisine with maharatrian flavour without compromising on ethics. A must-visit for vegans & food enthusiasts alike!"
After living in Montreal for many years & tasting the same, boring, spicy, oily generic Indian food here, I think we have found what we are looking for in Tula. It is a really cute, intimate, peaceful restaurant on St. Laurent. The service was impeccable, with the owner himself going around to each table & took the time to explain each & every dish on the menu with a smile on his face! You can really sense the passion that he has for the restaurant & vegan/healthy food in general & that is greatly appreciated! The food itself was just what we wanted, very simple, no nonsense food that felt like we were dining at someone's home. We ordered the Asian Style Salad, Grandmother's Special Curry & Lasooni Palak Tofu & the Elaneer Payasam for dessert. The Grandmother's Special Curry with "chicken" & vegetables, is a must try & completely outshone the other dishes (the others were very tasty too!) It had amazing flavour with just the right amount of spice & not oily at all. The Elaneer Payasam was quite interesting, nothing quite like what we've had before. As a tamilian myself, I wouldn't say that it is a typical south indian payasam but nevertheless it was quite tasty! Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by how great the food is here & will definitely be back soon! We look forward to trying the family restaurants in Toronto as well!
Finally an All Vegan Indian restaurant with a penchant for Health! I'm vegan / whole food plant based & I Recommend this restaurant.
Delicious, healthy, Indian food. Entire menu is plant based. The food was full of flavour, there were many options to choose from, & the staff was very helpful. Enjoyed every bite!
Amazing Indian food that happens to also be vegan. Well-prepared & delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, friendly service & very reasonable prices.
Authentic indian tastes, caring service by the owners, delicious vegan variety of dishes. It was a lovely suprise!
