I was in town for three months, & after my first time eating here, Tula became a weekly stop. It's not just the best vegan food I have ever eaten, but the best Indian food as well. Grandma's curry, the biryani, & any one of the three exceptionally creative desserts are especially worth tasting. The variety of flavors & the uniqueness of the dishes even make this a great place to take a non-vegan. The atmosphere is very pleasant & calming, & the service is outstanding: special shout-out to Abhi & Alina for their warm hospitality during my repeated visits. This is a must-stop destination for anyone coming to Montreal, & well worth going out of your way to experience.
I had the best lunch today at Tula. The big colorful sign caught my eye, so I stepped into a cozy, beautiful & welcoming environment. The owner showed me a picture of the daily special - a sample of several dishes & I went for it. So so so happy i did. The joy & love that is put into this food is FELT. After talking to the owner for a bit it became really obvious that he loves food, creating new recipes, playing with traditional dishes. It's fun - the whole place is fun. I felt really nourished & energized after lunch. It was perfect. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Montreal.
Man oh man let me say One place you need to try this is definitely the place especially If you are A fan of Indian food period But do keep in mind that this is a vegan place But the flavors are so complex & robust It is so worth it To step out of your comfort zone Are only a meat eater. We made the mistake of coming In between launch & dinner service Period We thought it was open because the sign said open but they do take a break between Lunching dinner service so keep that in mind which I think is between four & five o'clock. but we did enter during that time The gentleman let us know that they were on their break but it was definitely worth it for us to come back Which we did & which we were very happy we did. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable Of the menu & very helpful with helping us decide Which dishes Going to be good for us here He was a tremendous help very upbeat & personable We experience you get with him alone Would be worth the visit but just know you're also going to be observed some amazing food.
A delicious Indian vegan restaurants. All dishes are of the heighest quality of fresh spices & vegetables. We had the weekly lunch sampler, a veriety, & grandma's coconut curry with vegetables. I wish she was my grandmother.
I went for the "fake" butter chicken, since I stopped eating meat a long time ago. Unfortunately, it didn't taste like butter chicken sauce at all :( & i also didn't enjoy the fake meat they used. I then learned at Tula they do their own version of everything. So if you're expecting a vegan version of the original dishes, be aware. Don't get me wrong, the food is good. It just wasn't what I was expecting. The staff is great & the ambiance is really good. This little restaurant is cute & very well located. Their version for the mango lassi is espectacular!
This is hands down the BEST indian restaurant ever! Super delicious, authentic, & high quality vegan indian dishes that aren't so greasy & overly spiced like other places. The service is incredible too the owner was extremely kind & accommodating. We arrived just as they were about to go on break but he let us come in anyway & made sure we were well taken care of. Highly highly recommend!
What a cute gem of a restaurant with owners that care about their food, your health & sharing their traditions. The dishes were very flavourful & the kitchen was happy to accommodate for a higher spice tolerance. I recommend the biryani! Will be back for the desserts!
Amazingly fresh food with authentic recipes. Have not eaten these dishes anywhere else. Vegan, plant based is a better word, gluten free, healthy, the best customer service. The best Indian food in Montreal & their Asian food is out of the world - no MSG added ad well.
I had several dishes here. The description of the dishes versus the actual dish set a very high expectation & kinda left me to feeling, that was it? The spices & curries were very much on the acidic side & didn't seem to blend well on the palate. For an Indian resto, it was average. I would probably try again in the future, but as a first impression & with my past experience in cooking & eating Indian food, it was so so this time around
