Sushi Momo est un restaurant spécialisé en sushi végétalien et cuisine japonaise et a été fondé en décembre 2014 par chef de sushi extraordinaire Christian Manuel Ventura Alatorre. Avec plus que 10 ans d'expérience, les créations de Christian sont à la fois délicieuses et exceptionnellement innovatrices. Christian voulait offrir aux végétaliens le plus d'options de sushis végétaliens de toute la ville de Montréal.
Sushi Momo est un spot vegan à Montréal réputé pour ses sushis créatifs et savoureux, présentés avec soin et une ambiance chaleureuse. Le menu très varié offre des sashimis, makis, arancini et plats chauds entièrement végan, et l'on y découvre des textures et des saveurs qui surprennent même les novices. Le service est généralement attentif et professionnel, et l'ambiance intime et tamisée en fait une adresse idéale pour une soirée ou une occasion spéciale; la réservation est fortement recommandée, surtout les soirs de fin de semaine. Des retours évoquent parfois des plats un peu lourds ou des temps d'attente, mais l'ensemble est largement perçu comme exceptionnel et mémorable. Sushi Momo by Christian Ventura was such an amazing experience! We went without a reservation, but the staff was incredibly accommodating after we mentioned we were visiting from Ottawa. That hospitality really set the tone for the evening.
It was actually our first time trying sushi ever, & we were blown away by how flavourful everything was. The food was creative, fresh, & absolutely delicious. We tried the miso soup, SOS sushi, Japanese arancini, & the Green Machine roll - every single dish was packed with flavor & beautifully presented.
Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu & took the time to explain the dishes, which made the experience even better for first-timers like us.
Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Definitely worth visiting, especially for vegan & vegetarian lovers. We will absolutely be coming back next time we're in Montreal!
I visited Momo a few years ago with my partner & had an amazing experience-the food, presentation, service, & atmosphere were all top-notch. So, when I had the chance to order from them again while caring for my brother post-surgery, I was excited. Unfortunately, the delivery experience didn't match up to my previous visit.
We ordered the combo, which included miso soup, edamame, & their popular rolls. The edamame was greasy, & the sushi flavors were overly strong & muddled. We both felt like it was'sushi for people who don't like sushi'. While I respect the creativity of the vegan menu, & can understand it will not taste like traditional sushi, the flavors were too heavy, & the sauce was very salty & overpowered the ingredients. Sushi should be simple, & let individual ingredients shine- but this missed the mark. Unfortunately we both felt a bit off the next day.
I still want to love this place & would consider visiting again in person if I'm in Montreal, & maybe trying some different & paired back menu items. But overall, tasting the food away from the dining ambience was a letdown.

My best friend took me here on a Friday night for my birthday, & wow! I was honestly blown away! I couldn't believe how well they mimicked the texture & flavour of real sashimi. Everything tasted fresh & creative.
The vibe was perfect , cozy, not too dark, & the music was just right. It felt intimate but still fun, definitely great for a date night or special occasion.
Our waiter explained every dish with so much care, which I really appreciated. We tried the nouveau sashimi-style special (mind-blowing!), the miso soup that felt like a warm hug full of flavour, plus the Kamikaze, Gyu, & Mr. Croquant. Everything was delicious ! though if I had to pick a least favourite, it'd be Mr. Croquant.
It might not look like a ton of food, but don't be fooled ! it's super filling! I left happy, full, & already planning my next visit.
Life changing? Quite possibly. Went with 3 vegans & one non vegan. We all loved it. The miso soup was the best miso soup I have had. The staff were so, so nice & knowledgeable about the menu. Loved the creativity & the presentation.
Went here with four people & had the omikase. Flavours were great, I love mushrooms & that came through really well. Atmosphere is nice & cosy & provided a great environment to catch up.
Appetizers were great, soup was great, dessert was fine, & the sushi was good. But as a non-vegetarian it does not serve as a replacement for sushi. The flavours are great & they have some really interesting fusions, but most of the rolls rely on sauces to get their flavour. That's ok, & they taste good, but they are heavier & not equivalent for standard sushi.
This is solid vegan food in a nice setting, but it is not a sushi replacement.
Beautiful experience! Everything we were brought was delicious & the incredible variation of flavours & textures in each piece was a testament to the chefs abilities! I'm going to be thinking of the miso soup broth for a long time... Also worth noting that each roll is so packed with flavour that I never considered adding soy sauce, which I've never experienced before now. Every member of the wait staff we interacted with was great & we could tell that folks around us were enjoying their evening as much as we were. The layout made us feel pretty secluded despite being next to three other tables, & we couldn't hear others' conversations which I appreciated. The music at one point got a bit bumping but it mellowed down after not too long. Dim lighting & candles contribute to the cozy atmosphere. We spent a decent sum here (incl drinks) but it was expected & we both felt like we got what we paid for. Will be returning to try more in the near future!

Malheureusement nôtre visite de cette semaine nous a vraiment déçu.
Le service était exécrable nous sommes arrivés a 17 h & nous avons avisé que nous avions un spectacle 2 hr pour souper devrait être suffisant.Nous avons attendu 1 hr 30 pour être servi. Finalement nous n avons pas manger & on a demandé de préparer nos sushi pour apportez. La serveuse nous a apporté les plats & nous a dit de le faire nous même, le temps qu'elle prépare la facture 250$ wow c'est super!!! Quel mauvaise expérience ci seulement la serveuse c était montré un peu désolé de la situation mais non aucun mots aucun commentaire.Nous n avions pas le temps d argumenté alors nous sommes partis avec une tres grande déception.
Ce qui était mon restaurant favoris est devenu un endroit pour lequel nous n'avons plus aucun intérêt

Il n y avait quasiment personne dans le restaurant.
Un groupe est arrivé une bonne demi-heure après nous & a toute les fois que je voyais de gros plateau je me disais c'est prêt c'est pour nous.
& bien non les plateaux ont tous été pour la grande table derrière,le groupe qui est arrivé 30 minutes après nous .
Je comprends très bien que la préparation est exigeante mais désolé cette soirée là il y a eu sérieux problème a la préparation & au service.
C'est triste mais un restaurant qui a du succès perd souvent en qualité.
On appelle ça le succès qui monte à la tête.

I am not a vegetarian at all, but as a carnivore these dishes were fantastic! We did the 4 flight special & would do it again & again. They make the best miso soup! The desserts were OK. Service was amazing. We are recommending this place to our friends!
I recently dined at this fantastic vegan sushi restaurant & was thoroughly impressed by the culinary delights on offer. The meal began with a comforting bowl of Miso Soup, rich in flavor & perfectly seasoned. The Soba Mango Salad was a refreshing blend of textures & flavors, combining the crispness of fresh vegetables with the sweetness of mango & the satisfying chew of soba noodles. The highlight of the meal was the Assorted Vegan Sushi, beautifully presented & delicious, showcasing an innovative approach to plant-based cuisine. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, making this restaurant a must-visit for any food lover.
I enjoyed all the food but I came with huge expectations given the 4.7 rating & I think that's a bit overrated. We had miso soup, gyozas, & 3 rolls: momo, queen of hearts...the sushi was good but not mind-blowing & the gyozas a bit salty. I'd recommend it though if you are vegan
This is one of the best places to eat Sushi overall. Taking Vegan sushi to another level with incredibly better tastes than original Non-Vegan one. Great starters offering as well (Miso Soup, Soba Mango Salad, Mushroom Tartare...) It became our ritual every time we visit Montreal!

My friend & I ordered from sushi Momo last night, as there was a deal on Uber eats, & never having tried it before I was interested. I had no idea it was vegan until our order came. Let me tell you, this was the most delicious meal I've had in a long time. I'm a die hard sushi lover, but this meal had me rethinking my love for fish, as it what so delicious being completely vegan. The variety of rolls I got, the flavour combinations & quality left us speechless! The Miso soup was also fantastic. 110% recommend & will be returning.
All vegan sushi! The quality is very good but it comes with a price. I took the omakase which came with miso soup, pork dumplings (vegan), 12 sushi pieces & dessert. I don't recommend the omakase because the sushi rolls were very good but everything else was ok. So instead of paying 50$ for the set, I'd get 50$ worth of sushi. The reason I didn't go with the rolls from the start was because I didn't know what was what (The lighting was very dim & the menu letters were worn out). I would have liked a menu explanation because it's not your typical sushi. The service was really slow it took forever to get our order. I forgot to take a picture of the dumplings because I was too hungry & there 24 pieces (they combined 2 orders). Overall impressed of the vegan sushi!

Cela faisait super longtemps que je voulais aller à ce restaurant, nous avons fait plus d'une heure de trajet pour venir. L'endroit est magnifique!! Menu dégustation (2x entrés, un plateau de sushi, dessert), une belle option pour découvrir leur cuisine. La serveuse était très gentille. Pourquoi je mets si peux d'étoiles, parce que le service a été EXTRÊMEMENT long. Nous sommes arrivés à 21:30 avec réservation, des notre arrivée nous avons commandé 2x cocktail, après plus de 45 minutes... Nous n'avions rien reçu.... Cela a prit 1:15 pour avoir l'entrée #1 un, une soupe & un shooter d'huîtres. Le délais pour la 2e entrée même chose... Interminable, j'ai fini par demander à une autre serveuse si notre entré allait bientôt arrivé, l'entrée nous fût servi aussi... Le plateau de sushi fût servi relativement rapidement en comparaison aux autres plats mais ce qui était chaud ne l'était plus & il était rendu près de minuit, on n'avait plus très faim. Nous sommes sortis vers 12:45 avec une facture totale de 237$ (avant pourboir). J'étais avec mon amoureux & nous avons fais le choix de passer une belle soirée mais en partant de la avons convenu ne plus jamais y aller car le temps d'attente était complètement exagéré. Nous n'avons pas pu apprécier réellement le menu vue les circonstances. À noter que dès le 2e entré il ne restait que 3-4 tables dans le restaurant. Lorsque les sushi on été servi il n'en restait que 2 qui mangeait leur dessert. Vraiment déçu!
Started off with a miso soup that had the perfect amount of saltiness & umami flavor. Subsequently had two different types of rolls that were extremely delicious & tasted very fresh. The atmosphere inside felt very cozy with nice warm lighting. The bilingual staff were very nice. Downsides: the price - but that is to be expected since this restaurant is a little bit more upscale. Also, they only give you five rolls. Felt like the portions could've been a bit bigger. If I find myself in Montreal again, I will not hesitate to come here again.
The food was good, but the portions of the entree & dessert were way too small. Small bowl for the miso soup. I'm not expecting a huge bowl but a bit bigger. The desserts omg the brownie was so small, it was like the size of a quarter, & the sorbet too. It tasted good, though the sushi platter was great. My biggest complaint is what I mentioned above about the portion size

I have been coming to sushi momo for years & it is always a delight. For birthdays or when guests are visiting from out of town, this is always my restaurant of choice. Really the best vegan restaurant in Montreal. You can really taste the care put into each flavour. From the maki selection to the depth of flavour in the Miso soup. The
Omakase is a must choose, no question.
