Yeah what can I say, that is place was so amazing. The atmosphere is top notch. The food is out of this world, & out bartender, Oliver, you have to see him!.. Came from the US to attend a convention & honestly I only regret not coming here sooner! I have to say, I am roughly 6 hours away by car, I will come back to this place again. 100% must try!

Excellent & fun restaurant to visit. Love the concept.
Music was not too loud, & the noise level from other patrons did not interfere with our ability to speak & hear each other.

Service was friendly & prompt.
Cocktails were wonderful & unexpected twists on classics.
Very well informed wait staff - & we appreciated the help to pair the wine with our meal choices.

The scallops were perfectly cooked & combined with the wild rice, carrots & asparagus, a meal made in heaven.

The duck was also perfectly cooked & the flavour profile when combined with the parsnips was perfection.

The only less than perfect meal was the shrimp risotto - good but underwhelming & the risotto was almost soupy. The nuts sprinkled on top were a nice addition, but felt more like an afterthought. It wasn't as fabulous as the other two meals but still good.

Would have loved to linger over the desserts - but we had to rush out for a prior engagement.

Will definitely go back.

Le Speakeasy on McGill Avenue was the perfect setting for a wonderful dinner. The food was outstanding-we started by sharing the delicious mushroom pie, & my scallops were beautifully prepared & absolutely memorable. True to its speakeasy spirit, the atmosphere was calm & intimate, making it easy to relax & enjoy the evening. The décor was elegant & inviting, adding to the charm of the experience. From the excellent cuisine to the quiet ambiance & thoughtful setting, it was a fantastic dinner from start to finish, & I'm already looking forward to returning.

The restaurant portion (Le vandale) is super nice. Most of the food is good & the concept is nice.

The speakeasy in the basement, though, is horrible. It smells like mold & humidity. It's extremely dark, & the service was mediocre.
So the previous rating is for the restaurant only.

Edit: Unfortunately they stopped doing their affordable menu concept. It was the only good thing about this place, not worth it anymore.

My wife & I went there for the first time. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was chill with nice music & our waitress was knowledgeable about the foods & the drinks.

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The food was some of the best I've had in a long time, & the service made it even better. Kevin behind the bar was fantastic - friendly, attentive, & made incredible drinks. Mateo was equally amazing as our host/server & made us feel welcomed the entire night. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about giving people a great experience. This place deserves way more recognition & popularity than it gets. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for outstanding food, drinks, & service.
