Smoked meat sandwich, coleslaw & pickles are definitely on point. I went in expecting a good smoked meat sandwich, what I got was straight out of the steamer Montreal Smoked Meat on good rye bread. No reheating done here. Coleslaw is delicious & fresh, & their pickles are probably from a jar, but they're definitely quality, not Bicks mass-produced junk.
The only gripe I have was the smoked meat poutine. Sauce was a bit sweet for my tastes & the cheese wasn't fresh, didn't have that bounce or squeek of fresh cheese curds.
At the end of the day, it's an excellent smoked meat restaurant in a low-traffic part of the west island. Definitely worth a visit.View more

Smoked meat sandwich was good but way too much black peppers. Eating a chunck of it just kills the fun.
Also, they surcharge 4.00 if you want a lean sandwich(& it's not written anywhere) & they don't even tell you.
When I gave my order to the cash, I never said I wanted combos but yet the cashier punched my orders as such. Even if I wrote down my order.
So after 45 minutes waiting in line to order(which is normal for that place), I had to go back to the cashier to get my order right. Left a sour taste as if I was being scammed. So double check your orders.
Food is good but is it worth the hype for the price? They're better alternativesView more

I am amazed at the experience we had! This restaurant is alive! We went for live music on Thursdays, & ordered some delicious smoked meat combos.
There is no doubt in my mind that Pete's Smoked Meat is the best in Montreal! The atmosphere the food & experience was perfection!!

Great food, delicious but it is so expensive. Smoked meat sandwiches are to die for, the size is too small for the price. Yes you get alot of smoked meat, but the portion is small for the price. Doors going in are confusing but follow your nose. Menu is intricate for only english speaking tourists but the lady helping with the orders is helpful & friendly.View more

Smoked Meat Pete's is, frankly, not possible to beat! The food is amazing! The staff is incredible! The chill atmosphere is unbeatable! It hits top drawer on every conceivable point. There is not a casual, chill place that I would give a better review to... & I'm an old man who has been in 48 states, 9 provinces, 2 territories & 42 countries. Can you get a better smoked turkey somewhere else in the world? Yeah... but if you are looking for a chill & super cool place to chow down on a classic smoked meat, fries, pickle, etc..... it's bloody true, mate;'You can't beat Pete's meat!' Go there! Eat! Drink! I love their ribs. My stomach can't take smoked meat anymore. I'm sure their smoke meat is very good, but I order their half rack of ribs, for $29. See pics, I've done it multiple times. It's a bar type atmosphere, playing blues music. You order at the counter, & go sit down, & a few minutes later, the waitress will bring you your order. I go at 2pm, so there is no crowd.
The ribs are fall off the bone, the sauce is sweet, but not crazy sweet. The portion is very generous (I gave up on Baton Rouge, I like these better). I have to admit, I don't understand all their sides. French fries are good, lafleur style, coleslaw is good (vinegar, not creamy). But then they give you a small piece of liver & a thin hot dog (I thought kernautzel, but it wasn't). If you notice only one of the pics has it, I give it back now. Then some rye bread? & some dill pickles..I feel I need some smoke meat, then that would make sense. Some needs to explain that to me.
Anyway the ribs are good, French fries are good, & coleslaw is good. I ignore the rest.
They have live music, I think Thursday to Sunday night, but call their number to confirm.View more

I compared this Smoked meat to others I've had in the Montréal area. This one ranked in the top 3 considering many aspects. I was a bit put off with the amount of black pepper used which dominating over the delicious flavour of the meat. Worth a try though.View more

I was told this was the best spot for smoked meat in the Montreal area & I believe that to be true! Great food & fast service. Opens at 9am, but won't serve food until 10:30am which was a little confusing but none the less, worth the wait. Will return in the future!View more

Excellent smoked meat. On peut aussi acheter sur place la viande pour se la cuire à la maison. Le sandwich est bien rempli, & l'assiete viens avec une très bonne portion de frites.
