I am amazed at the experience we had! This restaurant is alive! We went for live music on Thursdays, & ordered some delicious smoked meat combos.
There is no doubt in my mind that Pete's Smoked Meat is the best in Montreal! The atmosphere the food & experience was perfection!!

Smoked Meat Pete's is, frankly, not possible to beat! The food is amazing! The staff is incredible! The chill atmosphere is unbeatable! It hits top drawer on every conceivable point. There is not a casual, chill place that I would give a better review to... & I'm an old man who has been in 48 states, 9 provinces, 2 territories & 42 countries. Can you get a better smoked turkey somewhere else in the world? Yeah... but if you are looking for a chill & super cool place to chow down on a classic smoked meat, fries, pickle, etc..... it's bloody true, mate;'You can't beat Pete's meat!' Go there! Eat! Drink! I went to SMP with my grandmother to pick up food for a family event. My grandmother is elderly & has dementia & my family takes turns caring for her. At the window, I asked my grandmother if she needed water while we waited since it might be a while (as the order was large). The angel working at the cash had someone bring her a chair that was easy for her to sit on, & gave her a water, as well as an ice cream on the house. She also directed me to where to sit while we waited. This is the kind of kindness that provides a little bit of relief & a lot of comfort. The service is just above & beyond. Thank goodness Pete is back & we can enjoy our sandwiches & ribs again. Always enjoy a great sandwich but the four stars are for really tight to get a seat have more tables than usual but he probably did that for get more of us in again. Please take one or two tables away we had to have people enjoying their food stop eating to get to the middle part. My second is for the sandwiches being too lean. We don't ask for lean but it's what I & my friends keep getting. Maybe we need a code word. lol. Oh & for the review of the meal, check the pictures, worth two thousand words. Excellent endroit pour du très bon smoked meat. Leur salade de chou a un goût spécial & différent des autres restos, un peu trop vinaigrée. Malheureusement, l'expérience sur place est quelque peu gâchée par l'espace un peu restreint & la musique forte lorsqu'il y a un band. Amazing take out meal with the Special, 1lb. Montreal Smoked Meat, Bread, Cole Slaw, Pickles. Took home to Hamilton. Long line to order but delivered sample of Beef Ribs while I waited. Line went pretty fast...about 20 minutes. Worth the wait. My friends enjoyed a taste of Montreal from Smoke Meat Pete.View more

I have been eating smoke meat since I was a kid & have become very picky over the years. Smoke Meat Pete's stands with the best of the best. We ordered a small sandwich, fries, coleslaw, & a drink. The small pieces of rye bread were filled with 1/2 a pound of warm & moist, brisket meat. The fries were home cut, not frozen, & deep fried to perfection. The coleslaw was too small a portion, I wanted more. With a large selection of beverages, I picked the Cott Black Cherry. I found it a bit expensive, $24 per person, but worth the extra cost. What an experience. If you have never been here, step up to the window, order your food, & find a place to sit. The server will call out your name & bring you your food. It takes longer to find a place to sit during peak hours, then to prepare your food. With a nice size menu, which includes steaks, ribs, poutine, & platters of a mix of meats, there is something for all. It's a great place for lunch or an afternoon snack. Enjoy!View more

The best place in'west island' (actually not really on Montreal but Always worth the drive!) You can find lots of smoked meat in Mt'l- but you will never find a joint that is as busy as this place! Ppl drive from all over for Smoke Meat Pete - some just for the food, some for the nightly Blues concerts- & me Both! Don't come if you are in a rush! You will have to stand in line to order like the rest of us... but when you see the crowds ans taste the food you will appreciate why!View more

The ordering/seating process was a bit unusual, but basically you order at the counter & find a spot, & the wait staff will bring your food to you. It was busy when we were there, so if you go with someone else, one person order while the other secures a seat.
