Shabby looking place but we ordered takeout & the food is delicious. Fast & nice service.
We ordered the:
Cha Kroeung
Riz Loc Lac
Portions are quite good the Cha Kroeung comes with rice.
Really delicious food. I had the gourmand platter which was excellent as well as their angkor soup which was delicate & very tasty.
As a bonus, the staff are extremely friendly & are happy to explain any questions you might have about the menu.
Ordered the game night platter.
This was delicious. A great treat for dinner at the end of the week. We're three adults & there's enough leftover for another good sized meal. We really enjoyed the sandwiches. A great mix of veggies & meat with a delicious sauce.
On a rainy day driving over to Montreal, I was looking for hearty meal. I've never tried Cambodian food but their existing reviews stating it tastes like authentic Cambodian cuisine enticed me to come in & try.
My personal stand outs for me were the grilled lemon grass chicken, loved the fried egg, rice & pickled carrots either cabbage . The entire rice dish was delicious.
The soup had special lemon grass meat balls which I could instantly tell these were in house made. The soup was so clean & light. Really nice flavour balancing.
Would definitely stop by again if I had a chance to drive by.
Bonus they had old school pac man & rampage games available to play on while we were waiting for our food.
Ordered:
3 Color Rice $16.85
• 2 beef Skewers, 1 Piece grilled chicken, 2 fried rolls, Fried Egg, White rice, Carrot Salad, Sauce
Tonkinoise LeKhmer $13.95
• Soup with Rice noodles, Chicken Broth. Served with Chicken + Beef balls + Shrimp.
Great food & overall ambience. Momentarily we were felt like we were in real south east Asian restaurant. Taste was up to the mark. Only point I should mention about the washroom. It needs a better maintenance.
Surely recommend for a visit
Amazing food! We are new to the area & were looking for halal options for our house warming. We ordered a bunch of dishes off of the menu & the owner helped us determine appropriate quantity for our group size. The food was incredible & everyone loved it. Would highly recommend & will definitely be ordering again.
very accomodating, the foods are hot & delicious, the staffs are approachable, good service & the serving size was awesome!
thank you keep up the good work!
Le repas était excellent ! Les plats sont très savoureux ☺? le personnel est très sympathique & accueillant ! Je recommande vivement 😍
Always my go to local restaurant when I want to treat myself. I'm partial to the tonkinoise soup & the Family Platter (yum!). Give it a try, you will be happy you did.
best food for catering
everyone was satisfied & quality was on point🤛🏾
I've been to Khmer several times in the past, mostly around the time they first opened, & I remember enjoying it quite a lot. I also recall the owners being very kind, which is why this recent visit was especially disappointing.
I had lunch for two people this time. The Soup Angkor was fine, & the fried spring rolls were also okay. Nothing remarkable, but acceptable.
Unfortunately, the rest of the meal fell short of what I remembered. The chicken wings, which I've enjoyed on previous visits, tasted over-fried & then reheated, leaving them greasy & dry. Most surprising was the rice: although the portion was generous, it was very dry & seemed stale. As someone who cooks rice at home using a simple rice cooker, I found this hard to understand, as good rice is usually very easy to get right. I only managed to eat a few bites.
The Tonkinoise soup was also quite bland. The broth, served separately (for take-out), looked & tasted mostly like water with very little depth or seasoning.
To the owners: this review is not meant to be negative for the sake of it. I truly hope you take it as constructive feedback. I've enjoyed your restaurant in the past & would love to see the quality return to what it once was.
Love the food & the fact they accommodate & prepare my food without coriander. I recommend the sandwiches (beef & chicken both yummy), fried chicken & all their meals.
I just wish there were some Lao desserts to try.
