We arrived & it was the Sunday Jam!
This place exceeded my expectations. Large portions of food, either smoke meat, ribs or brisket with plenty of coleslaw & pickles.
We were so lucky there was live music! Even Pete himself was there & played the guitar ! Excellent ambiance also children friendly.
Really good tunes, great music & the waitresses were very nice & friendly.

I am amazed at the experience we had! This restaurant is alive! We went for live music on Thursdays, & ordered some delicious smoked meat combos.
There is no doubt in my mind that Pete's Smoked Meat is the best in Montreal! The atmosphere the food & experience was perfection!!

Been going here for years & its always been a top spot in my heart for their smoke meat. Their is a couple a amazing spot for smoke meat in Montréal but I would have to say this is close to or if not the best in my opinion in Montréal. Highly recommend trying once & if you can try to go when they have a LIVE MUSIC. 👌🤌View more

I love their ribs. My stomach can't take smoked meat anymore. I'm sure their smoke meat is very good, but I order their half rack of ribs, for $29. See pics, I've done it multiple times. It's a bar type atmosphere, playing blues music. You order at the counter, & go sit down, & a few minutes later, the waitress will bring you your order. I go at 2pm, so there is no crowd.
The ribs are fall off the bone, the sauce is sweet, but not crazy sweet. The portion is very generous (I gave up on Baton Rouge, I like these better). I have to admit, I don't understand all their sides. French fries are good, lafleur style, coleslaw is good (vinegar, not creamy). But then they give you a small piece of liver & a thin hot dog (I thought kernautzel, but it wasn't). If you notice only one of the pics has it, I give it back now. Then some rye bread? & some dill pickles..I feel I need some smoke meat, then that would make sense. Some needs to explain that to me.
Anyway the ribs are good, French fries are good, & coleslaw is good. I ignore the rest.
They have live music, I think Thursday to Sunday night, but call their number to confirm.View more

Dine in or take out, this place is amazing! What a cool atmosphere if you're lucky to get a seat! (Which is a good sign!) When you order at the counter, with friendly bilingual service, they provide delicious samples of their amazing dishes! Amazing little stage with live music & they even announce anniversaries & birthdays! What an awesome place & the food is beyond amazing! Don't believe the hype !! The quality of the meals & the abilities of the staff have definitely been dropping recently. The prices were more reasonable.. they are now charging more.. While having live music is potentially wonderful.. For some reason the much more talented musicians no longer seem to play here. I think this restaurant is riding on its reputation & that reputation is no longer deserved. My last visit in July had myself & a friend waiting 30 minutes on a quiet day for very dry tasteless chicken. Both the food & the service was totally unacceptable. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere but the food & the service are no longer interesting.View more

Had higher hopes for the smoked meat sandwich. Heard they have won awards around North America so expected good things. The sandwich was average in my opinion as the size was small for the price ($18.99 for sandwich & fries). I compared it to my local favorite & this scored it "okay". The fries were good but their gravy is to be desired as it had a sweet taste to it. They have a stage for live music which would score a higher atmosphere score during a set I would assume. This is just one man's review, give it a try yourself as it is quite a known place.View more

I really liked this cool spot! It's super cozy & has a great vibe with yummy food. My friend recommended their smoked meat, but honestly, there's a bunch of other tasty stuff on the menu too. We tried the smoked meat sandwich with awesome fries - so good! Even though the cashier goofed up the bill a bit, it's all good. They've got a bunch of sauces to choose from to take home, which is neat. The sandwich itself was delish, with lean meat & not too much fat. There's plenty of parking & I can't wait to check out the live music next time. Definitely recommend this spot!View more

It's complicated! You walk in not knowing how the place works at all ....No one greats you or tells you you just need to line up & pre-order your very overpriced plate of food .The screens that have their menus on change so fast you can't get a grasp of what they actually have Yes, it's a BBQ place, but I'm still confused as to what we ordered weeks later . You pay & then try to get a table before they bring out your food .VERY SMALL SPACE will not a lot of seating ! This gave me anxiety big time .We found a seat as the rule of thumb of this place is the food comes out fast & you eat it super fast & get the hell out ! It wasn't a relaxing or nice experience at all .The food isn't great...not BBQ at all .A random dry weiner on a small plate comes out first ... your extra large meat plater comes out & nothing about it Is EXTRA OR LARGE LOL dry meat ,ok chicken & very dry bread ro was down the load of money you just lit on fire . I would literally call this place all smoke in mirrors...Outside is super cool, but the inside is super stressful with blaring loud music spilling through a hug speaker 🔊 Maybe the Live music they have later on makes up for everything elseView more

I make a pit stop here on every visit to Montreal since the cuts of meat are amazing, & the taste is simply lovely!
It might seem a little pricy, but the sandwiche & fries are worth every penny.
The best part is that you can also buy the meat & bread to make sandwiches at home.
They have live music nights & quick, friendly service.
