This Saturday we came for brunch with empty stomachs, thirsty throats & high hopes… SHUSHUTO is fast moving to the top of our family's favourite list! We have recommended to friends that weee visiting from out of town & their experience was just as positive. Nous avons essayé le brunch du samedi & nous n'avons pas été déçu avec ma blonde. Le mélange de goût qui était présent dans les plats nous ont fait découvrir & aimer davantage la cuisine asiatique. C'est un must si vous voulez découvrir une nouvelle endroit où bruncher la fin de semaine. The staff is better now than previous reviews stated, but the noodles didn't cut it to me as much. The ramen noodles aren't the traditional type, while the udon was over cooked. Their sauce is well made & thought out, so they are well above what you can expect in Montreal. The sushi quality & decor was also great. I'm looking forward to their brunch soufflé pancakes, which aren't common in Mtl. Their ramen tonkatsu broth was well prepared, better than the mixed instant powder or more watered down msg options we have in mtl. The carbonara was also very hearty but not overbearing.Voir plus
***Update Nous y sommes retourné cette fois durant une réunion de famille, pour un brunch, le week-end. Vraiment une grosse déception. Beaucoup des plats était ordinaires (dont mon sizzling de boeuf) & il y avait un problème évident de mouches à fruit qui a gâché le repas. Les cocktails qui n'ont pas été bu en moins de 5 minutes servaient de piscine pour les mouches à fruits. Le poulet frit était excellent par contre. Je ne pense pas revenir pour le prix & le temps de deplacement ça n en vaut pas la peine. 3 étoiles pour cette visite , première visite à 5 étoiles alors je laisse à 4 mais c est seulement à cause de la soirée d ouverture qui était parfaite. **** 1ere visite; J'ai adoré la soirée d'ouverture, une ambiance dynamique dans un décor chic c'est un must à adopter. Des entrées de tempura aux crevettes tigrées & champignons enoki, des yakitori mixtes viandes & légumes sans oublier un mazemen avec du porc fondant nous avons eu des coups de coeurs pour tout ce que nous avons goûté ! On a déjà hâte de revenir aussi pour le curry aux crevettes & l'inoubliable ramen au maigret de canard. Food quality was great BUT brunch was not Japanese. We got the pancakes, the French toast, the ramen, & the beef with eggs. The pancakes were closer to a cake consistency rather than a fluffy jiggly pancake that they serve in Japan. They were dense & too heavy to enjoy fully. The French toast was ok but also not Japanese-style where the inside is supposed to be somewhat creamy/custardy in consistency. This was still very much toast-like & dry-ish. The beef & eggs were great, & very rich in flavour/umami; Tender beef & well marinated eggs. The bread that came with the mushroom sauce was soft at first but 3 minutes later, they turned rock hard & were hard to chew. For the Ramen, The broth was great! The egg was wonderful & overall very enjoyable. The fried chicken (karaage) was also really great! Juicy pieces of chicken! I personally think they have more strength in savoury plates vs sweet plates so I would recommend going savoury.Voir plus

The food was really tasty, the service was attentive & the atmosphere was pleasant. I ate the French toast. It was really good, but I feel the portion was just a little bit small. It was also a bit expensive. I think if the portions were larger it'd be 5 star. Overall, I'd recommend this place as a fun brunch spot to go with your foodie friends or date.Voir plus

First time we've come. Great spot for brunch, we had the bourbon vanilla pancakes, the shared fried chicken & porc Mazemen. Each dish was 10/10 for flavor & great sized portions. Nice, modern place. The food was really good. I loved mazemen PORC ABURI CHASHU & IKURA. It is a ramen without billion. It was delicious! I also tried their Japanese pancakes with matcha cream & it was nice but not super. The downside was that the coffee that was included with the brunch (aka pancakes) was never offered to me. via LibroVery lovely crew, nice restaurant interior, but tbh the food was subpar. We went for their Japanese brunch & it was rather disappointing. Nothing on our plate was created with the palette of Japanese cuisine. It didn't taste bad, it it was your usual Montreal greasy potatoes with avocado, dry bread & more greasy mushrooms. As someone who lived in Japan for years, this was sad. But again, as far as generic food goes, it was fine.

Good Japanese inspired brunch. We ordered the pancakes, sizzling steak, duck mazemen & karaage. All dishes were tasty but nothing blew me away. The mazemen was a bit too sweet for me & the pancakes were more like a cake texture & not jiggly. Overall, a good experience!Voir plus
The place is so nicely decorated & feels fancy. We went for brunch & it was fairly busy but still the staff still checked on us every once in a while which was nice. The food was ok, but not consistent. Two of us ordered the same matcha pancake but recieved two different dishes. One was thick clumpy sauce & the other was so runny & didn't have much of matcha taste. However the amount of food was really good that we had to take the leftovers. Ce restaurant apparaît sur beaucoup de réseaux sociaux avec de belles revues. Nous avions donc voulu tester le brunch avec les beaux plats proposés & le fluffy pancake japonais. Tout était très beaux visuellement, ce qui nous mets en appétit. Le boeuf grésillant n'était pas bien assaisonné & caoutchouteux & l'oeuf miroir était tellement cuit qu'on ne pouvait pas le couper. Le udon au curry était fade sans goût. & le fluffy pancake, quelle déception: il n'y avait rien de fluffy & n'était pas bien cuit. Peut-être que le souper est mieux, mais le brunch m'a vraiment déçu. The entree "salmon tataki" & mocktails were excellent. However, the main dishes weren't amazing. I struggle to see where the value was. The "dry aged beef" was tough & dry. The black tiger prawns with Udon has 4 pieces. The other ingredients were very basic. Finally, the min 18% tip & "custom amount" that doesn't work is really unappreciated & unpleasant. Maybe I'd come try the brunch, but there's no point paying $24 Ramen, when there are better options at $15.Voir plus
Went for brunch with my sisters, & we ordered multiple meals to share. It was perfect as we were able to try almost everything from the brunch menu! My favorite would be the japanese'pain doré'. So fluffy & not too sweet. The service was great & we received all of our plates at the same time. Overall, we had a great time there. For my constructive comments I would say that the matcha latte was a bit too bitter & the coffees that came with our meals weren't served when we asked for them. We received only after multiple requests. The grilled steak was also a bit too over cooked, but the rest was really enjoyable!Voir plus

Nourriture: Super bon! Généreux & abordable, c'est une très belle adresse!
Ambiance: endroit familiale donc prévoir qu'il y aura du bruit pendant le brunch (cela ne nous a pas gêné, par contre les deux personnes en FaceTime à côté de nous sans oreillettes ça c'était très désagréable.. mais ce n'est pas la faute du restaurant)
Service: Quelques oublis mais sympathique & joviale!

via LibroI came with my mother & sister to try out this bar that was highly rated for their brunch on social media. We started off with the chashu pork baos - they arrived cold & one of them contained butcher's string. When we got our main dishes, the chicken carbonara was disappointing - the dish overall tasted bland, like pasta water. Other than those two menu items having issues, their fluffy Japanese pancakes & brunch curries were good.
Really loved this place! Food was delicious & the sake cocktails were amazing, 10/10 would recommend. Great service too, waiters were super kind & had good recommendations. The decor & music gives this place a nice, upbeat vibe. Will definitely come back to try out the new brunch menu :)Voir plus
