The resto is fully GF so you can enjoy a delicious meal fully relaxed. This popular spot is super busy so book reservations in advance. Absolutely everything we ordered was INCREDIBLE!!!! Beautiful environment with an open kitchen. Stylish & cool. We enjoyed our meal with a bottle of Saki & our 12 year old was delighted with the unusual stunning colour of her crème brûlée. Order lots of small plates to enjoy many different flavours. You won't be disappointed. Some of our favourites were: crispy fried mushrooms, chicken satay with peanut sauce, vegetables & tofu in coconut milk, grilled Chinese broccoli, coconut milk beef stew, both rice dishes, etc etc etc. We want to visit Montreal again just to return to this restaurant!!!
the food is so unique & amazing! it's a wonderful & refreshing experience to try Indonesian/Malaysian cuisine that isn't as popular like other parts of Asia's culinary game. i highly recommend the sambals, beef rendang, fried fish, jackfruit stew, the fried chicken with fermented honey, pandan crême brûlée & the pandan drink is delightful! do be prepared as Indo/Malay cooking is spicyyy!!! otherwise, the chefs really have the flavour profile down - coconut, galangal, lime, chilis, tamarind, etc. the staff & service is always great too :)
Satu Lagi is not only tastes authentic, but also the chili in the store is absolutely so refreshing! Definitely a paradise for spicy lovers! The business during meal time is very busy,& the exotic flavor allows you to arrive in Indonesia in one second without having to go abroad. Each kind of chili sauce has a different flavor, so I recommend you try some of them, It's very mouth-watering when mixed with vegetables & rice, but it's really super spicy. The spiciness in Indonesia is mild at first, & it doesn't feel too spicy, even a little sweet, but after a while, the aftertaste will make people sweat...be careful! Rendang beef tastes a bit like curry beef. It can be said to be a super special dish in Indonesia, the beef is chunky & delicious. The fried duck legs are deep-fried until they are very, very crispy. It can be said that there is no gravy, but some of the fat & the duck skin taste particularly oily. It is delicious when paired with onion sauce & the turmeric rice!
Rather disappointing: rendang beef had too much fat & lacked flavor. Shrimp also lacked flavor, as did the gado gado. Fried mushrooms & cocktails were ok. I had higher expectations based on the reviews. Wouldn't return.
Yum! This place is great. Food was really good. I especially recommend the gai lan (Chinese broccoli) it was so good it gave me goosebumps! The beef rendang was also 11/10. Soooo good. The only dish I would skip is the fried mushrooms. They were too greesy & bitter from the turmeric. Otherwise, I definitely recommend everything.
Was really excited to try this place, planned the Montreal trip also around it. Was a bit disappointed. Not that the food wasn't good, but it just wasn't anything special for the price. The service, atmosphere & overall maintenance was great but they could up their game with the variety on food. The cocktail was also good (Paradin Rice). We had the Satay Daging (beef) & marinated Calamari. We also tried the Fried chicken.
Great place for an elevated dinner! Entire menu was gluten free & dairy free. We liked the beef stew & fried duck the most. Serving staff was friendly & quick.
