Review Summary

Satu Lagi is widely celebrated for its authentic, flavorful Indonesian and Malaysian cuisine and its status as a dedicated gluten-free establishment, which many diners appreciate for its inclusivity and high quality. The vibrant, tapas-style sharing menu features standout dishes such as the satay, fried oyster mushrooms, beef rendang, and pandan crème brûlée, often accompanied by well-crafted, original cocktails. While the atmosphere is frequently praised as cozy, stylish, and lively, some visitors have noted that the restaurant can become quite loud and seating may feel close. Opinions on value are mixed, as some guests find the portion sizes small relative to the price points, yet many others view it as a worthwhile gastronomic experience for special occasions. Service is generally described as friendly and attentive, although there are occasional mentions of pacing issues or inconsistencies during busy periods.

Came here with friends & we had the broccoli, fried mushrooms, chicken skewers with sauce, pomelo & mango salad & the tofu. All was incredible but the tofu was too rich for one person to eat themself so best to share it.
2026: I came back on my own & ordered the garlic marinated tempeh satay, the 4 veg sambals with chips & the litchinade. The tempeh came with the peanut sambal so it was a good combination if you want to try the sambals with chips. The peanut sambal was definitely my favourite of the 4 so I'd recommend getting the tempeh so you could try it instead of getting the other sambals on their own if you're on a limited budget. The homemade chips were so good. They were made of a special nut & a root vegetable but I forget what they were called. The tempeh had a nice marinade & the cucumber & red chili on the side added fun freshness & flavour. The mocktail wasn't that exciting but still good. The service was great & the terrace was beautiful

My friends & I stumbled into Satu Lagi on a rainy night & were blown away. Sat at the bar across from the open kitchen & ordered based on the chef (Kevin's) recommendation. Great service & amazing food especially the satay flight & the fried mushrooms. Highly recommend!

We were out for dinner with family & chose this interesting restaurant serving Malaysian & Indonesian cuisine.

It has a really nice informal atmosphere & the service is laid-back, friendly & efficient - just what we like.

The menu was really interesting & made a good read, & had lots of dishes with bold flavours. As there were 4 of us, we got a good selection of dishes:

- 4 Indonesian sambals (salsas) with chips

- Satay Ayam: Chicken & sweet soy
- Satay Daging: Turmeric, lemongrass beef

- Jamur Jamur: Crispy oyster mushrooms with Malaysian spices

- Kari Ayam Penang: Peranaken chicken curry
- Iga Bakar: Grilled beef ribs marinated with galangal & soy

- Gudeg Nangka: Sweet stewed young jackfruit in coconut milk

- Kangkong Belacan: Water spinach stir-fried in belancan

I love belacan (fermented shrimp paste) & the water spinach dish was full of it! Delicious. The chicken curry was also stand-out, but all the dishes were really good & interesting. A very good meal!

Every dish that we ordered was extremely flavorful & unique in texture & taste. Definitely a gastronomic adventure. Fried oyster mushroom, beef ribs, pandan creme brulee, & grilled chicken are just some of the great dishes.

All gluten free food! I recommend beef Nasi Lemak, it goes better than the fried chicken. Eggs Benedict looked fairly standard with a Malaysian twist.

OMG the flavours in this place are out of this world & so refreshing. The Rendang daging (coconut beef) is to die for, the Ayam goreng manis (fried chicken with fermented honey) will blow your mind, the Kajang panjang kluwek (green beans) is so delicious you won't stop eating... Yes it gets expensive if you have wine like we did, but just go for the food & you'll freak out!!

The food is absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was so flavourful & well prepared, & the courses were perfectly spaced out.

Starters: highly recommend the tempeh & beef skewers, the fried mushrooms, & the tofu.
Mains: the rendang & the green beans are a must. The sauce that the clam stir fry was prepared in is also superb. You have to get rice on the side (both types are great but the turmeric one is fantastic).

Special mention for the pandan crème brûlée (still thinking about a day later) & chili mutiara drink (fresh & perfect for the summer).

Service is fast & attentive, & the staff is all very warm & welcoming. The ambiance feels elevated without being overbearing, & the restaurant itself is beautifully designed & warmly lit.

Perfect place for a small group to share plates & grab drinks. Book in advance & ask for a table by the window in the summer, booth indoors in the winter. Their terrasse is also lovely too if you're lucky to catch it in the warmer months.

We were happy to eat here, but I don't think we would be back again. Much of the food was good, but none of it was outstanding. The fried chicken in particular was way overly sweet - honey drenched - & the other dishes were good, but nothing wowed us except the lemon grass appetizer & the fried mushrooms. The service was perfectly good but impersonal. The atmosphere would have been good, but that they played 70s American rock ballads, & it just felt very incongruous in an Indonesian restaurant. Not being Indonesian ourselves, & not having an Indonesian server, it was hard to tell what was authentic & what was not.

I had the pleasure to visit Satu Lagi for a solo dining on a Saturday evening & I left deeply satisfied. This intimate & dimly-lit establishment offers a delightful selection of Indo-Malaysian plates & cocktails all done exceptionally well.

Upon first walking in, the restaurant welcomes you with the enticing smell of smoke coming from its open kitchen. It is amazing to watch the kitchen work so seemlessly with the massive fire intermittently stealing my attention away from the food as it ignites & dances against the rhythmic tossing of the wok.
The bartender is also extremely nice, humble & passionate about her craft. The sheer enthusiasm radiating from her is contagious. It was a pleasure to connect with her as she shared about the'secret' & the history of the Pomelo cocktail. What a creative drink that replicates the flavor of an ingredient that isn't even included in the recipe.

The food far surpasses expectations with each dish made with care & offering a range of texture, flavor & aroma.
The jamur jamur of fried oyster mushrooms was crispy without feeling greasy, & the pickled shimeji mushrooms add a much needed acidity. The kajang panjang kluwek was deeply savory & umami. The fried caramelization on the beans & the softened onions add a rich sweetness that complements the saltiness.

The highlight of the meal was the cumi bakar bali; albeit small, the calamari packed a lot of flavour & aroma. It was smoky with charred bits, sweet & lightly spiced from the tamarind glaze, & perfectly cooked tender with a slight bite.

Overall, Satu Lagi was a pleasant surprise & I will surely be coming back for more. The food was delicious & all of the staff care deeply about the quality of the food served & of the service provided.

I came here for an anniversary dinner & the main draw for us as I have celiac is that this place is 100% gluten free! We loved this place, the options were amazing & everything was delicious, I've included in the photos the names of the menu items we ordered. Service was nice, the only thing was that the fried banana was slightly over fried but still yummy. It is very expensive, but this is our reality, would come again though!
