After being seated , we waited 20 minutes before our server arrived to take a drink order. ( we placed our food order also at this time). After placing the drink order we waited an additional 20 minutes before being told the bar was out of Stella & to choose another beer selection. 5 minutes later we received our drinks, Only to be told that the kitchen was out of 1/2 chickens , so we had to amend our dinner orders as well.
When the food did arrive we had to ask for our waters that were ordered at the onset, in addition to the side orders of coleslaw yet to be delivered. ( typically this come out right at the beginning). The coleslaw eventually arrived AFTER we had finished eating our dinners. Not to mention - every table in the vicinity that was unoccupied was piled with dirty dishes & not cleared from the previous guests.
I have always enjoyed St Hubert when I'm visiting Montreal (excellent food & service).
Deficits in food can easily be forgiven if the service is exceptional , & vice versa - however both categories here were well below par; this speaks to greater issues at this location.
This place is a dump. There was vomit in the waiting area (first red flag). Nothing was clean. Table was dirty. Waited 45 minutes for service. Waited another 30 min for drinks. Honestly, we should have just left but we were cold & hungry. Food finally came a good 90 min after we sat down. Food was cold. They didnt have beer or chicken. Poor waitress was kind but was clearly overrun. Don't go here unless you want to wait an hour for cold food & eat amongst everyone else's garbage. What a dump.
Came here with a few friends. We all ordered soup as a starter, everyone got theirs except me. Mine never arrived.
When our mains were served an eternity later, I mentioned to the guy bringing the plates that my starter was still missing. His response was a very rude'yeah, we know', with no apology or professionalism whatsoever.
My main (crispy chicken burger) was completely unacceptable: the chicken was burnt BLACK, the bun was rock hard, & everything was cold. I had to send it back & ended up not eating anything at all after waiting 1.5+ hours.
My friends were also disappointed. But at least they could eat something while I watched.
Terrible service, terrible food. Absolutely unacceptable. Never coming back.
Ohhh St-Hubert…. I've been living in Toronto for 15. Everytime I go back to Montreal I made it a tradition to go eat at St-Hubert. What a disappointment…. Orders were taken pretty fast. We were a group of 4 & we all took an appetizer. One of our friend never got his appetizer to finally not even seing his order at all.. & this person ended up not eating after we were all done. I had order 2 legs with house salad which arrived with no dressing at all. &, by the way, give a taste at your Piri Piri sauce…. Definitely not a good one. To come back at my chicken. It was definitely not fresh & this is unacceptable for a rotisserie. First comment from everyone was that their food was cold. This is NOT the St-Hubert that I'm used to know. This is more of a Swiss Chalet…. I guess it now show who owns it. St-Hubert is a Swiss Chalet now. If you made it this far reading my review. Please simply avoid this low quality very expensive rotisserie chicken. The waitress, didn't even care to fix anything. The manager couldn't even come to try to fix it. I am no longer an ambassador of this franchise that was a great place to go for so many years. So disappointing.
Portions were WAY TOO SMALL, they have a'platter' where it says shareable for 2-3 person for 75$ & they'll just give you 5 tiny shrimp uncooked, with a small steak of a size of an iPhone hard like a rock & a raw chicken leg, where that portion ain't even enough for one person lol me & my brother we looked at it & we were looking for the rest of it.
I would highly recommend to NOT go here!! Spend ur money elsewhere not worth it ;)
Loved the chicken tikka massala, great spices & yummy 😋 good service
My wife & enjoyed a lunch chicken & fries while enjoying a healthy glass of wine (very reasonably priced at $5.00 each)
We had a great meal, the chicken dish & the wrap were delicious. The sauce a bit watery (it used to be thicker). Our waiter was AMAZING! Our only suggestion is to ask the gentleman at the hoststand upstairs to hold his his back, it looked untidy & unprofessional.
Although we waited a bit the service & than the food, the food itself was delicious & portions were big. Piri piri half chicken with piri sos, chicken sos, no limit pepsi diet, buns & coleslaw (creamy & normal one). The staff was very nice & kind & let us share the meal deal. Thanks!
I will preface this by stating that St. Hubert's is my absolute favourite restaurant to eat at. My review however is still not intended to be biased.
Our server & food runner were both very nice & efficient. Zero issues. Host who seated us wasn't exactly the warmest guy, but meh. Not everyone can be'ON' all the time.
Ribs were not as wonderful as what I typically have at St. Hubert's, but still good. I can't score lower than a 5. I just can't!
Coleslaw, chicken fillets (+ sauces), toasted buns & millefeuille were stars of the show as usual! French fries are nothing to get excited about-this i know & expect already. Drown them in the chicken dipper gravy. Again, my loyalty keeps me staying 5 star.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come back to the Toronto area. I beg of you!
Food came out quickly & tasted delicious. Ordered chicken breast & it came with bread, fries & sauce. Service was very prompt & friendly. Restaurant was clean & modern. We will be back when traveling to Montreal.
Yummy rotisserie chicken & crispy fries. The seasonal lobster rolls were really good.
Way better than I remember from Ontario 15 years ago. You will still enjoy the sauce on the side for dipping fries & chicken
It is always nice visiting Quebec & getting a hot chicken sandwich with the little peas. I was really craving it, so I thought I would visit the city. Overall, I was happy with the experience. The atmosphere at this location was fancier than I expected. The gentleman that waited on my table was just that: a gentleman. & the food was okay. Notice how I mentioned the food last? It was passable. The gravy on the dish was pretty heavy. I am not certain but have my suspicions it was made from dry powder out of a pouch. The dish could have had more chicken & peas. In fact, more mashed potatoes, too. Even though I ate it all & I was glad for the experience, I will probably go somewhere else for my hot chicken sandwich fix in the future.
I haven't been to St Hubert since 1989. My first visit then was very positive. Amazing food, so good. I was looking forward to a return visit. It took an incredibly long time to receive our order. I started with poutine. It was cold. So disappointing as my first Quebec poutine. The chicken was much better, like I remembered. I was not offered a refill of pop even with an empty glass sitting several minutes. Server did not come around. It's a nice looking restaurant though. Overall, not happy.
One of the best St Hubert location for food. Kid friendly, warm & kind staff, delicious chicken (for a st hubert). However, staff, despite doing their best, seems short on peak time & we've waited 40min for a single chicken leg & some nuggets. Not great. Sure it's getting pricey for franchise chicken (more than scores or Benny) but the quality of this spot delivers.
I really enjoy my experience. They have amazing side dish. You can have a chicken leg with vegetable sautay & free coleslaw salade. J'ai vraiment aimé le restaurant. Ils ont de succulents plats avec des à côté de légumes sautés & salade de choux à volonté.
I recently visited St-Hubert for a quick meal. The food was average-not particularly memorable, but not bad either. While the service was a bit slow, it was understandable given the large crowd present at the time. The chicken portion was generous & satisfying. I was pleasantly surprised to find a variety of vegetarian options on the menu, which added a nice touch to the overall experience. Despite the wait, it was a decent dining experience worth trying.
i love st hubert! but not this one. chickens & ribs are dry. :(
