The atmosphere was incredibly inviting & the service was attentive without being intrusive. Everything we ordered came out perfectly cooked & the flavors were well balanced. It is definitely a solid spot if you are looking for a high quality meal in a relaxed setting. I will definitely be bringing my friends back here next time we are in the area.
Honestly one of the better dining experiences I have had in recent months. The staff at Restaurant Beba really knows their menu inside & out & gave some excellent recommendations based on our preferences. The kitchen is clearly doing something right because every single bite was packed with flavor. It is a bit hidden but well worth the effort to find. I genuinely look forward to seeing what they add to the menu for the upcoming season as I will certainly return.
Excellent, accommodating & kind service. Food was PAS MAL- SUPERBE! I got the mackerel bagel & the tagliatelle pasta. Wow.
Nuanced flavors that were distinguished & fresh. Fish was fresh & pasta made in house. Every staff checked in on me at the bar where I sat. Made friends with guests. Non pretentious but the food tastes pretentious. Go go go. I found them on the Michelin guide website. Everyone said they're amazing. No lies were told.
Beba- Michelin level on its day. A small, but intimate space, & compact kitchen means that inconsistencies arise day by day. However, to me, that makes the experience more exciting, knowing I am having a unique meal rather than one that has been practiced thousands of times.
The food was terrific, with a focus on local ingredients. The Mackerel, was a standout smaller dish & was a unique fusion between Eastern sushi & western flavors & techniques. We also had a confit beef cheek with morel mushrooms that was the best bite I have had this year.
Drinks were unique & exciting, & the server did not push us to order alcohol, which I feel often happens at too many smaller/more expensive meals.
While you should expect to spend $100+, I felt that the priority of highlighting fresh local ingredients was worth it, & felt that Beba never skimped out on the expensive ingredients in a dish (peep how many morel mushrooms we got!).
Excellent food & seasoning. Mackerel is one of my favorite entrees, fatty, creamy & hint of horseradish balances everything. Octopus is perfectly cooked & full of umami flavor. Beef cheeky & mochella are the best combo, red wine sauce blends all ingredients together. Flan is out of the world, smooth, rich, flavor explodes in you mouth with each bite. Cute & nice staffs, amazing services. Definitely worth visiting if you are looking for a nice fine dining experience.
The highlight of the day is the mackerel, very fatty & full of umami flavor; second highlight is the beef tongue, so tender & seasoned perfectly, hope there was some other refreshing vegetables or something slightly acidic to balance the richness though. The rabbit dish was so so mediocre, we couldn't even finish more than two pieces, the meat has a weird raw chicken texture even though it was definitely cooked by sous vide. Flan had a bitterness in it but it's good in a strange way!
Service was kinda slow but kinda typical.
I liked that the staff were welcoming & I could try various dishes without having to pay for the full size by getting smaller portions. The foods were prepared & served to bring the most out of each ingredient's characteristics & flavors. I liked the cozy neighborhood-spot vibe but it could be bad for a big group. Will visit again.
I've lived in Montreal for five years & have explored much of the city's fine dining scene, but my experience at Beba last night was truly in a league of its own.
The food was clean, sharp, & exceptionally well-balanced. You can tell that every single dish is thoughtfully constructed & organized with precision. The layers of flavor were sophisticated & sharp, & the chef's intentions were clearly communicated in every bite.
Having visited countless restaurants over the years, it is rare to find a place that offers such a seamless experience from start to finish. From the genuine guidance during the menu selection to the moment we left, everything was handled with perfect care. It has been a long time since I've experienced such a flawless, cohesive evening, & for me, that is the highest compliment I can give.
Quite easily the best meal I had during my stay in Montreal! Restaurant Beba was ranked the 7th best restaurant in Canada & the 50th best in North America in 2025 & for good reason. The service throughout the entire night was phenomenal-every worker was so friendly & knowledgeable about each dish. In a way, dining at Beba felt like eating in someone's home with the way we were treated so kindly & enthusiastically. Definitely make a reservation as the interior is very small; we had a lovely time at the bar.
Their menu is incredibly inventive, mainly taking inspiration from the Italian & Spanish culinary traditions established in Argentina. Most of their dishes rotate depending on seasonal ingredients, but they always have their signature starters. They recommended trying four to five dishes for two, which was the perfect amount of food. We started with a duck special for an appetizer. The slices of meat were insanely tender & went so well over the fresh cabbage & dressing. Next, we had the beef tongue, which they were able to slightly alter to accommodate for my tree nut allergy. Once again, the meat was so juicy & flavorful. We really enjoyed the blood sausage & rapini it came with as well. The brown butter sauce reminded us of movie theater popcorn in the best possible way. Our third dish was the pappardelle. It was cooked al dente with just the right amount of firmness & bite & tossed in the creamiest cheese sauce with duck ragu. The overall dish was meaty & hearty while not feeling too heavy or greasy. For the largest shared plate, we opted for the Guinea fowl. The skin was wonderfully crispy while the meat remained juicy & savory. The oyster mushrooms & sunchokes were great complements that cut through the meatiness, & every ingredient tasted magnificent when slathered in the herbaceous salsa verde. We finished our meal with the flan-one of the best I have ever had without a doubt. The custard base was so bouncy, rich, & creamy. It was topped with the most delicate whipped cream that wasn't overly sweet & the best dulce de leche I have tasted in my life. The thick caramel's nuttiness & richness made me speechless. I could eat hundreds of these flans without ever getting tired of the dessert.
Restaurant Beba delivered us a perfect experience. Each dish was brought to us at a good pace, allowing us to enjoy every bite with no rush. The amazing service, atmosphere, &, of course, food has guaranteed that I will return the next time I'm visiting Montreal. If you want a meal you will never forget, Beba is the place to go!
The Perfect restaurant. The service is incredibly thoughtful & attentive. The food is packed with flavor making you want to savor every bite. To top it all off the music playlist throughout the night makes you want to dance around with joy. The team is super nice & has great recommendations for local happenings. Make sure you chat with them!
