what an incredible restaurant. I had to go here twice in a row when I was in Montreal. It was that good. It blows my mind they don;t have a Michelin star yet. They were on point on every single aspect: service was incredible & attentive, the cocktails were outstanding, the bartendress was also very open to making spontaneous cocktails & she did a phenomenal job. The food on both days were incredible: this restaurant was definitely the highlight of my Montreal trip. The neighborhood itself is meh, but the restaurant is a gem, it could easily mop the floor with Michelin star restaurants in NY for example. I did make reservations on both days & it is highly recommended. The restaurant is small & fills up quickly. On the second day I did the chef's tasting menu & it was wonderfully assembled.
Beba came highly recommended by a friend who lives in the neighbourhood. I had high expectations & while the service was stellar, I found the food fell a little short. We got the knish, which would have been better if it was a larger bite. The caviar was generous, but the proportion could have been better. We also had the mushroom risotto which was good, but needed to be better seasoned. The dish was a bit one dimensional & the mushrooms on its own lacked seasoning. Lastly we had the pork with clams & sugar snap peas. Again, it was okay but the pork was under-seasoned. There was a pork jus on the plate but it was so watery, it did not add anything to the flavour. If the jus was thickened, then it would have clung to the meat better, adding the much needed flavour to a rather bland, but well cooked pork.
Overall, I would give this meal a 7.5/10, I thought the food was much better than Mon Lapin, but I do not feel I need to visit again as nothing was that memorable.
Went to Restaurant Beba for a casual date night & had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The interior design is quite lovely & sets a nice mood for conversation. We were really impressed by the drink selection as well. It is rare to find a place that balances good food with such an excellent beverage program. Prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes & the quality of the service provided throughout the evening. Highly recommended.

The food was overall very good, & the service was generally quick & attentive. We were really enjoying our meal until we noticed that our rabbit stew was partially undercooked. There appeared to be blood on the bones, & one portion of the rabbit meat was clearly undercooked.
We mentioned this to a staff member who came by to wipe our table. He reassured us that someone would look into it. When our server returned, we explained the issue again, & she went to discuss it with the kitchen staff.
When she came back to our table, she did not apologize & seemed quite dismissive. She told us that the chef said it was normal to sometimes see blood on the bones. However, she did not address the undercooked portion of rabbit meat that my partner had left on his plate, nor did she appear interested in discussing the matter further.
We went on to order dessert, but we were disappointed by how the situation was handled. Given that it was a small restaurant with only a few tables, we did not choose to escalate the matter further & make other guests uncomfortable.
As a Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant, we had hoped for a higher standard of communication & customer care when an unexpected issue arose. While we enjoyed much of our meal, the response to our concern left us disappointed.
I would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Montreal. Really cute restaurant with excellent servers who are clearly knowledgeable. & of course the food was to die for!!
Delicious food & amazing service. Reservations highly recommended as they are extremely busy & popular.
The Montadito was probably my favourite dish & the cocktail was absolutely amazing (vermouth & olives). My server/bartender was on top of everything despite how busy he was. The rest of the staff are also extremely attentive, clearing plates immediately, refilling water, wiping down the table, etc.
It was only me at the bar & I was given the option to have half portions while also having more room to try other dishes. I decided to order everything full size, no regrets, but for my next visit I'll definitely take that route. There were so many other dishes I wanted to try after watching the other guests eat!
Overall I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are in Montreal this is a must try. I will definitely be back!!
Every single dish I tried was delicious. I really appreciate that they offer portion options for solo diners & it made it so much easier for me to be able to try a wider variety of dishes.
One thing that truly surprised me was the appetizer with dates & foie gras. I'm usually not a fan of foie gras, but since it was so highly recommended, I decided to give it a try-& it's definitely the one that suits my taste the most.
The steak & the clam & beans dish i had that day were also excellent. I'd love to come back & try their new menu!
Very impressed with everything from the quality of the ingredients to the execution of the dishes & an amazing service. Highly recommend asking for the tasting menu if you are a first time visitor.
Quite easily the best meal I had during my stay in Montreal! Restaurant Beba was ranked the 7th best restaurant in Canada & the 50th best in North America in 2025 & for good reason. The service throughout the entire night was phenomenal-every worker was so friendly & knowledgeable about each dish. In a way, dining at Beba felt like eating in someone's home with the way we were treated so kindly & enthusiastically. Definitely make a reservation as the interior is very small; we had a lovely time at the bar.
Their menu is incredibly inventive, mainly taking inspiration from the Italian & Spanish culinary traditions established in Argentina. Most of their dishes rotate depending on seasonal ingredients, but they always have their signature starters. They recommended trying four to five dishes for two, which was the perfect amount of food. We started with a duck special for an appetizer. The slices of meat were insanely tender & went so well over the fresh cabbage & dressing. Next, we had the beef tongue, which they were able to slightly alter to accommodate for my tree nut allergy. Once again, the meat was so juicy & flavorful. We really enjoyed the blood sausage & rapini it came with as well. The brown butter sauce reminded us of movie theater popcorn in the best possible way. Our third dish was the pappardelle. It was cooked al dente with just the right amount of firmness & bite & tossed in the creamiest cheese sauce with duck ragu. The overall dish was meaty & hearty while not feeling too heavy or greasy. For the largest shared plate, we opted for the Guinea fowl. The skin was wonderfully crispy while the meat remained juicy & savory. The oyster mushrooms & sunchokes were great complements that cut through the meatiness, & every ingredient tasted magnificent when slathered in the herbaceous salsa verde. We finished our meal with the flan-one of the best I have ever had without a doubt. The custard base was so bouncy, rich, & creamy. It was topped with the most delicate whipped cream that wasn't overly sweet & the best dulce de leche I have tasted in my life. The thick caramel's nuttiness & richness made me speechless. I could eat hundreds of these flans without ever getting tired of the dessert.
Restaurant Beba delivered us a perfect experience. Each dish was brought to us at a good pace, allowing us to enjoy every bite with no rush. The amazing service, atmosphere, &, of course, food has guaranteed that I will return the next time I'm visiting Montreal. If you want a meal you will never forget, Beba is the place to go!
