We had visited here from New York City & wanted to try some local Indian cuisine. The food was delicious, the location was nice & clean but by far the nicest thing was the service, it was the best service we have had in a long time. They treated us like family, like we were eating in their living room. I would recommend anyone local or from abroad who wants to try local cuisine in this area would recommend to try this place out, won't be disappointed.
Had a great experience at Punjab Canteen! I tried the veg burger & my mom had the chana puri - both dishes were absolutely delicious. The flavors were authentic, & their special chutney/sauce really took everything to the next level. We also had excellent service from our waitresses, Anu & Siya, who were friendly, attentive, & welcoming. Special mention to the owner, Raman, whose professionalism & warmth made our visit even better. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving tasty & well-prepared Indian food in Montreal!
UPDATE: Went again to try their thali & it really fell short. The Dal Makhani was Kaali Dal not actually Dal Makhani, the shahi paneer was too sweet. However I did LOVE the fact they serve the gulab jamun hot at the end of the thali as part of their thali. Great touch! Won't be going there for main course just street food. Also turn down the music just a bit please. It was at the right volume at my first visit.

This was my first time trying this place & the food was amazing. Our server Anu was incredibly helpful & friendly. She kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed which I really appreciated. Highly recommend !
Actually we are visiting 1st time their for my Birthday celebrat with my friends.we are very happy with them specially Siya she is very shy & good behaviour with us.

I recently tried chole bhature at this place, & I must say it was absolutely delicious! The bhature were perfectly fluffy & crisp, while the chole had a rich, flavorful gravy with just the right balance of spices. It was definitely a standout dish that I would highly recommend. However, I was quite disappointed with the butter chicken & kadhai chicken. The flavors were decent, but the quality of the chicken itself was not up to the mark. It felt like the chicken was made two days before, as the texture was off & lacked freshness. This really took away from the overall experience, which was quite disappointing considering the otherwise great food. Overall, if you're looking for a good chole bhature experience, this place is worth visiting, but the chicken dishes might not meet expectations.

Amazing Service & Delicious Food! I visited La Cantine Punjab in Montreal with a group of 9 friends, & it was an exceptional experience! The service was top-notch, & our server, Harman, went above & beyond to make sure we had a great time. He was extremely friendly, attentive, & made us feel truly welcomed. The food was incredible, perfectly capturing the flavors of Punjab. Despite being a large group, everything was served promptly, & Harman ensured we were well taken care of throughout. If you're in Montreal & looking for a place with great food & outstanding service, I highly recommend La Cantine Punjab. Big thanks to Harman & the team for such a memorable dining experience!
The Amritsari Kulcha was perfectly crisp & flavorful, paired with delicious chole & chutney. Great service & cozy ambiance made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Punjab Canteen est l'un de mes restaurants indiens préférés à Montréal. En particulier, les plats savoureux venus du nord de l'Inde sont absolument excellents & incroyables. Le service est rapide en ayant les employés qui sont sympas & serviables. À l'intérieur, l'ambiance est extrêmement chaleureuse & détendue. La carte offre une tellement bonne variété de choix qui plairait à tout genre de goût. Hautement recommandé!
This is one of my favourite restaurant in Montreal.They serve delicious North Indian dishes.we tried vegetarian food & all the dishes were amazing. Amritsari Kulcha was very good.. Fast service, friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Punjab Canteen has a wide selection of Indian foods & even as someone who doesn't regularly eat it, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great at night with a wide selection of pop songs & ambient lighting that made the dining experience even better. Highly recommend the Butter Naan & Lamb curry.
