Genuinely the best pho ive tasted (better than the ones Ive had in LA, NYC, & Chicago). Note that it is cash only!
Would recommend to everyone visiting/living in the area. They give so much food too. I would go there when hungry!
I love this Pho place. The price is right, the portions are big & the service is one of the fastest in town. The pho is delicious & the spicy weekend special pho is even better. I almost never have to wait for a table. One of the best spots in Chinatown imo. They have been accommodating of my food restrictions, which I appreciate a lot.
Please note they only take cash but they have an ATM next to the area where you go to pay.
Pho Bang New York is hands down the best spot for authentic Vietnamese pho in Chinatown. As a loyal customer for the past three years, I can confidently say that their quality never wavers-every visit delivers the same delicious, consistent flavors that keep me coming back.
One thing to note is that it's a cash-only establishment, but they do have an ATM inside for convenience (just be aware of the small service fee). Despite this minor inconvenience, the fantastic food & reliable experience make it well worth it.
If you're looking for a no-frills, dependable pho spot in Chinatown, Pho Bang New York is the place to go!
The best pho in montreal,
It's payment is cash though, but there is atm machine inside the restaurant.
Amazing food, service could be a bit quicker when ordering. We were seated at the door which was pretty cold whenever the door opened. However the amazing food makes up for it, which is very rare. Cash only by the way.
Best pho in town no doubt I have been coming here for more than 15 years this place existed since 1996 & have been serving the best pho prices extremely low & affordable cash only tho but you need to try their oxtail beef & shrimp soup
It was lunch time on a Sunday & craving for some authentic pho. Most of the nearby restaurants have long lineups & we traded for Pho Bang New York with no line up, & it was getting late. We ordered 2 identical medium Size rare beef Pho, nothing sophisticated & basic in order that we can get our order fast. What is basic for one is not basic for others as it took a long time to get just 2 bowls of Pho. The soup was hot but not boiling hot as I would have expected. Taste was just OK, & the amount of meat was satisfactory. I was sitting at the end table facing the kitchen entrance & I can tell you that the sight was not a good one. I can tell when hygiene is not on the top priority list. I hate to visualize how the interior kitchen would look like. We finished our lunch & went to the cashier to foot the bill & a sign " Cash Only" took me by total surprise. I do not always carry cash on me but luckily I had just enough to settle the bill. I subsequently read the reviews & crystal clear that I am not the only one caught with the Cash Only situation. This teaches me a lesson of not reading the reviews before going in a restaurant or business.
Nous avons retrouvé les saveurs de notre voyage au Vietnam 😍 Adresse à retenir ! Cependant paiement uniquement par cash, si besoin il y a un ATM dans le resto 🙂
We didnt get our order right, missing items. Had to ask mumtiple times for ingredients, we were moved to a different table in the middle of our visit. Only accepts cash
My family & I have been regulars at this restaurant for years, always leaving a decent tip & never encountering any issues. However, today it was bad. We were seated by a bearded waiter, as usual, & ordered both dine-in & take-out meals. After enjoying our food, we headed to the counter only to realize we were $1 short, + tip. Since the ATM was broken during our last visit, we assumed it still was. The lady at the cash register didn't speak to us, just stared rudely & pointed at the total. We tried to explain that we were short by a dollar, she only uttered a few incomprehensible words & gave us a cold look. Then, a waiter from our table approached us & bluntly said, "Total & plus tip" in a rude manner. It seemed like he didn't understand that we were already trying to figure that out. To make matters worse, I heard him talking about us to the other waiters, which was embarrassing given how frequently we dine there & how polite we always are. Fortunately, the ATM wasn't broken this time, so we withdrew $20 & got change for the tip. Despite this, one of the waiters continued to glare at us angrily. Initially, we left a $4 tip but decided to reduce it to $2 due to the poor customer service & lack of communication. At this point, the waiter told me, "Next time, $2 more tip or don't come back," in an aggressive tone. I asked him to calm down, but he kept following us toward the exit. It was an uncomfortable & strange experience. While this restaurant was once a favorite, the unprofessional & rude behavior from the staff means we won't be returning.
It was a cool October Montreal day & we wanted some Pho to warm us up after several hours of sight seeing. The menu had great selection but 3 of us ordered the #1 (special Pho) & the 4th ordered the #42 (shrimp & vegetable Pho). It was super busy & lined up around lunch but tables turn over quickly & we were seated after about 15 mins. The Pho was pretty average. However the service was a bit below par. One of our group wanted a fork & we had to ask no less than 4 times for one. Also, we wanted a tea pot refill & they took away the pot but never returned it until we skied them twice. Pricing was fair for what you got with most dishes around $15. Note they only accept cash so make sure you bring $ or you can always use the ATM next to the till for an exorbitant fee 😆
It's my favorite pho place in Montreal! The price is so worth it & delicious!! They give a lot of meat as well! I've come here for over 10 years, & it never disappoints. My only disappointment, however, is due to a young staff that has no manners. I don't particularly mind the person not having steady hands to put the bowls down on the table, but they didn't even apologized when they spilled all over my relative's phone. My family & I were served by this young staff for the past 4 visits this year & the behavior only got worse... Being clumsy is one thing, but surely apologizing should be something everyone should do when they make an evident mistake... at the very least, I hope I get served by the older waiters because of this. Take note that they only accept cash here. If you don't have cash, there is an ATM in the restaurant.
They only accept cash, which they don't tell you until you go up to pay. Seriously, who doesn't take cards in 2024? Of course, they have their own no-name ATM right next to the register where you can take out said cash for a service fee of $2.69 (on top of what your own bank charges). The food was pretty good & the service was fast, but in the end I came away feeling like I'd been slightly scammed.
Good average pho place, nothing spectacular, but decent. Typical chinatown service. I kinda like the hectic atmosphere, not for everyone but I lived in chinatown in hawaii for many years so it felt kinda homey. Cash only place so be prepared with a few queen elizabeths in your wallet.
If you want to find a place that is cheap & wants to be filled you won't be disappointed. The pho here is good. The only issue I have with the service is that it is cash only, there is an ATM within the restaurant but it has a service charge of $2.65.
