Delicious bread especially the spicy pineapple pork bun. Japanese sponge cake was a bit dry. Many selections!!. Prices were good. Authentic cantonese.

Compared to the Chinese bakeries from Vancouver (even at $0.75-$1) more per piece, this is by far the best buns I've ever had (these buns are to the left hand side of the store). There's an abundant filling in every bun & they all taste delicious!! Will definitely need to make another stop before moving on to Quebec City. 5/5

Now, moving on to the right hand side of the store where they sell bubble tea, my daughter ordered a fresh mango & melon slushy, & it was more melon than anything & it didn't stay slushy. It was pure juice after 5 mins. This was a disappointment. 2/5 stars

You can never go wrong with a good ol' traditional Chinese bakery! This lovely little Chinatown spot features a wide selection of Chinese breads & pastries, all displayed in little self-serve cases. I dropped by around 6 PM, so I was expecting the selection to be pretty sparse &/or stale, but I was quite impressed by (1) the quality & freshness of the remaining bread, (2) the number of options still available, & (3) the number of people who managed to cram into this tiny space. The evening seems to be prime Chinese bakery hour, & it looked like folks were stocking up on desserts for the night &/or breakfast for the next morning. & I can't blame them - the buns all looked absolutely gorgeous. I ended up grabbing a green tea & red bean bun. The bread was super soft & moist, & it was the most beautiful forest green colour. I can't say that I could really taste the green tea, so I imagine most of it was just in the appearance. There was a good amount of red bean filling, & I appreciated that it was subtly sweet...all-around, it was the perfect late afternoon / early afternoon snack after a long day of exploring Montreal.

Excellent.

Went for a quick bite on Boxing day. Very little choices as items still being cooked. Selected a Coconut custard bun & a Sesame Ball. Review is on Sesame Ball. The pastry could have been cooked a minute or two longer as the filling was still slightly cold inside. I have had better elsewhere.

Very good place to get food on the way! Each time I go to the Palais des congrès for conventions, I always get my lunch there!! Lot's of variety & everything I tried so far was good! My go to are Hot dog bun, curry beef bun, sweet crust bun & shallots & bacon buns. Never been disappointed once! It's also so cheap, I got a full meal (hot dog bun, curry beef, sweet crust bun & a drink) for less than 15$, but usually I only pick two pastries for around 7$, really worth it! Will continue to go there every time I'm in quartier chinois

*edit as of 09/24 the buns are skimpy on the filling compared to my previous review from last year. The curry buns especially, they are flatter & bigger but with noticeably less filling. Still tasty but definitely not the same. Those fried beef curry & chicken teriyaki buns are just amazing!! Filling is quite generous & consistent every time I've been. I usually also pick up the coconut buns & scallion ham buns as well. Beware the latter is quite oily! It's definitely a guilty pleasure bun for me.

Friendly staff & fresh baked pastries & buns. You grab a tray, parchment paper, & tongs & serve yourself before paying at the cashier. Nice & easy place to pick up a grab & go type of snack.

Super fresh Asian bakery! I was impressed by the quality. Even the regular pineapple bun tasted hearty & delicious. Mochi was okay. Peanut one tasted like peanut butter filling - which is tasty, just not authentic.

Good environment, good food & decent service BUT the fourrée de pâte fève rouge/red bean paste bun/小熊豆沙包 has a strange taste of a mixture between bitter cough syrup & Chinese medicine. Don't recommend any bun in link with red bean paste as a filling :( Ps: You can go for other chocolate related desserts tho, I've rarely encountered any sweets that doesn't taste good with chocolate.

I tried several buns & pastries that were all delicious. The prices are good & the staff friendly. Like many chinese places however, this patisserie is miles away from eco-friendly packaging -- UPDATE: They now use paper & non-plastic bags, I appreciate the effort!
