The best by far.
This little cafe, in a beautiful part of the city, offers the best gluten free (celiac safe) baked goods. The croissants & chocolatines are specifically noteworthy for their similarity to a glutenous version. In our experiences, other boulangeries & patisseries in the city cannot compare.
The prices are reasonable at first glance, then much more appealing after you've experienced the high quality of the products.
The staff are friendly & accommodating, taking time to assure us of the 100% GF nature of the cafe.
While sat, enjoying our late lunch, the owner/manager even allowed us to sample a potential new product offering, a mini tourtière pork pie, with Asian influences.
When we come back to Parc Sans Gluten we will look for these pies to be a mainstay.
Tip: try the Québécois empanada. You will not regret it.
THE BEST gluten free pastries I've had in my 10+ years as a celiac. I've been searching for a place like this & I've finally found it 1500km from home. We will make a point of always stopping here when on road trips. Thank you for your amazing food & friendly service. We will not forget.
Can't put into words how good the empanadas & croissant sandwiches are. Great flavors & buttery bread (non-dairy gluten free bread!). We even tested it by keeping some overnight & although a ham & cheese croissant sandwich & almond croissant did firm up a bit as expected, it still tasted very good. One item that didn't keep was the more traditional bread sandwich but can't win em all. A must visit for any celiac in Montreal!
I was visiting from the US & had to visit because I have celiac. I bought almost every single thing & they were all amazing. Plus the woman working there was super nice.
UPDATE in 2026: This previous review was from 2024, since then Parc sans Gluten has changed owners & it's like day & night! This was the best thing that could have happened to the place. The new owners are super friendly, helpful, they really know what good customer service means! Yes, the prices went up a little bit but besides that the entire place has changed for the better. Now you actually enjoy sitting inside to eat & the quality of the products got also better! No ambiguity anymore when it comes to ingredients, no I don't know how many days old bread.
We could not be happier!

My partner is celiac & this is one of the few gluten free places we can go to on the Plateau. Unfortunately, our experience there has gotten worse & worse.
Not only is the service far from friendly (the person looks as if they don't like working there at all) but the sandwiches don't contain what's indicated on the label. Instead of peas, carrots & chicken you get a sandwich with chicken & bell pepper only in it. Very DISAPPOINTING, I would even call it false advertising.
Another negative point is their communication. We asked them two weeks ago if they have any vacation planned so we could be prepared & go elsewhere. No, they said, nothing planned. Now, they have been closed for two weeks in a row with no sign on the door, no changed hours on Google, nothing. Please, take into consideration that there's people out there who are DEPENDENT on gluten free options & that can't just go to a different place just like that!!
Their prices seem to be random as well, no price labels & our sandwich has a different price every time we buy there. En plus, the machine will be held towards you so you can't see the price.
If this wasn't literally the only 100% gluten free bakery on the Plateau, we'd look elsewhere, but since it's close to Parc Lafontaine it's a nice stop for a snack in the park.
I'm not a celiac nor do I avoid gluten but these 100% GF products are some of the best pastries I've eaten. I've chosen to go here over other bakeries because they're that delicious.
The raspberry danish is on another level of tasty.
Very friendly & inviting staff too!
I discovered Parc Sans Gluten yesterday while hanging out at Parc La Fontaine with some friends, & I am so glad I did. As someone with celiac disease, finding safe places to eat can be stressful, so the fact that it was only about a five minute walk from where we were in the park already felt like a win.
Even though we arrived pretty late in the day & they were closing in about an hour & a half, I was surprised by how many options were still available. The selection felt generous & thoughtfully organized. One side had more tarts & pastries, while the other featured classic items like croissants, chocolatines, & almond chocolatines. It actually felt like walking into a'normal' bakery, which is rare when you have to eat gluten free.
I ordered a ham & cheese croissant, which I have been craving for so long. Being able to order one at a café without worrying about getting sick honestly felt amazing. It was super flaky, reminded me of buttery goodness (but it is dairy free!) & really satisfying. I also grabbed a chocolatine for later, & it held up perfectly. I reheated it at home & it tasted fresh, with lots of rich chocolate inside, exactly how I like it.
My friend, who does not need to eat gluten free, also loved their almond chocolatine & said they would definitely come back. The staff member working was incredibly kind & attentive, even checking in to make sure everything was good. They also gave me a loyalty card, which was a nice touch.
It is maybe about a dollar more expensive than other gluten free spots I have tried, but for the quality & peace of mind, it is absolutely worth it. I will definitely be back & recommending it to others.
Incredible gluten-free pastries & a delightful flat white to pair. The croissants & empanadas were absolutely to die for (even by non-gluten-free standards, but this is all gluten-free!) & the perfect start to our day. Staff was helpful, bilingual (French/English) & super friendly! Everything in shop is gluten-free, which was such a huge relief for my celiac partner. 5/5!
This place has the best gluten free pastries & croissants I have ever had. My husband has celiac & he said it was the best bakery he has ever had. I would've never guessed it was gluten free. The staff is very nice & very knowledgeable about the products they serve. Highly recommend!
this place is a gem! Disregard any review that doesn't reflect that :-)
I'm visiting Montreal from New York, where we have pretty good gluten-free/celiac friendly options but we're definitely missing something like this spot. Really reasonable prices, the family that owns it is so friendly, & the quality & variety is awesome. If you're looking for loaf of bread & baguettes or croissants to go, or sit with a coffee & sweet baked treats, this is your spot!
