Review Summary

Reviewers describe Parc Sans Gluten as a standout gluten free bakery where croissants, pastries, empanadas, and tarts are consistently delicious, with many items being both gluten free and dairy free without sacrificing flavor. The staff is repeatedly praised for being friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating, and the atmosphere is described as welcoming and comfortable, with several notes about improvements under the new ownership. Highlights commonly mentioned include the chocolate croissant, almond croissant, danishes, lemon tart, tiramisu, fruit tarts, and buttery empanadas that taste like their gluten versions. People traveling from near and far say it is worth a visit, often planning trips around the bakery, and many express gratitude for a reliable gluten free option that is safe for celiacs. While a few reviews point out occasional price concerns or service gaps, the overall sentiment is admiration for the quality, variety, and consistent gluten and dairy free offerings that make Parc Sans Gluten a standout in Montreal.

THE BEST gluten free pastries I've had in my 10+ years as a celiac. I've been searching for a place like this & I've finally found it 1500km from home. We will make a point of always stopping here when on road trips. Thank you for your amazing food & friendly service. We will not forget.

Can't put into words how good the empanadas & croissant sandwiches are. Great flavors & buttery bread (non-dairy gluten free bread!). We even tested it by keeping some overnight & although a ham & cheese croissant sandwich & almond croissant did firm up a bit as expected, it still tasted very good. One item that didn't keep was the more traditional bread sandwich but can't win em all. A must visit for any celiac in Montreal!

My wife literally cried when she tried the pain-au-chicolat. 20 year gluten free, finally found a real pastry.

You must open a location on the west coast. You would do great in Victoria.

UPDATE in 2026: This previous review was from 2024, since then Parc sans Gluten has changed owners & it's like day & night! This was the best thing that could have happened to the place. The new owners are super friendly, helpful, they really know what good customer service means! Yes, the prices went up a little bit but besides that the entire place has changed for the better. Now you actually enjoy sitting inside to eat & the quality of the products got also better! No ambiguity anymore when it comes to ingredients, no I don't know how many days old bread.
We could not be happier!

-----
My partner is celiac & this is one of the few gluten free places we can go to on the Plateau. Unfortunately, our experience there has gotten worse & worse.
Not only is the service far from friendly (the person looks as if they don't like working there at all) but the sandwiches don't contain what's indicated on the label. Instead of peas, carrots & chicken you get a sandwich with chicken & bell pepper only in it. Very DISAPPOINTING, I would even call it false advertising.
Another negative point is their communication. We asked them two weeks ago if they have any vacation planned so we could be prepared & go elsewhere. No, they said, nothing planned. Now, they have been closed for two weeks in a row with no sign on the door, no changed hours on Google, nothing. Please, take into consideration that there's people out there who are DEPENDENT on gluten free options & that can't just go to a different place just like that!!

Their prices seem to be random as well, no price labels & our sandwich has a different price every time we buy there. En plus, the machine will be held towards you so you can't see the price.

If this wasn't literally the only 100% gluten free bakery on the Plateau, we'd look elsewhere, but since it's close to Parc Lafontaine it's a nice stop for a snack in the park.

1000000/10, so so good! The danishes, empanadas, & croissants were all incredible!! Best gluten free pastries that we've ever had. The owner was absolutely lovely, so friendly, helpful & kind. A must do for visitors with a gluten or dairy allergy! (:

There are new owners & they are so so nice, they gave the place a new vibe!!! Also, I can tell some items have new recipes, like the almond croissants, & they are amazing! It's hard to find GF & dairy free good croissants & theirs are definitely good!

I was surprised, but the spinach potato empanada was probably the best gluten-free pastry I've ever had! 😳
The dough was fresh, with clean, hearty ingredients.
The apple tart is also very well done. This one was a little dry for me, but nothing a favourite beverage couldn't balance out. The apple pieces themselves were not dry.
The flavours were wonderful, not too overpowering, & definitely not bland. Very well done, I shall be back.
🤍🙏🏾✨

This is the best croissant I have had in my life …
I got an almond croissant & it was incredible. Like guei inside. I am now in Toronto regretting not buying more for my parents to try
Ps. I am not gluten free, actually if I read the title of the restaurant I wouldn't have come in so glad I just walked in to try! So sad there is no locations in Toronto !!

I'm not a celiac nor do I avoid gluten but these 100% GF products are some of the best pastries I've eaten. I've chosen to go here over other bakeries because they're that delicious.
The raspberry danish is on another level of tasty.
Very friendly & inviting staff too!
