The establishment utilizes carefully selected alternative flours to ensure that traditional textures remain consistent across every item. Patrons encounter a specialized inventory featuring flaky croissants, dense brownies, and seasonal tarts crafted within a dedicated facility. The culinary focus centers on rigorous ingredient sourcing to eliminate cross-contamination risks while maintaining structural integrity in complex doughs. Each recipe undergoes precise development to mimic classic patisserie standards without relying on gluten-containing grains. Display cases showcase a rotating selection of cookies, cakes, and artisanal breads designed for individuals with specific dietary requirements. Technical expertise in gluten-free baking methods guarantees that the crumb structure and flavor profiles meet professional standards for quality and presentation in every single batch produced.

Review Summary

Parc Sans Gluten is a highly regarded bakery in Montreal, celebrated by both those with dietary restrictions and those without for its exceptional range of gluten free and often dairy free pastries. Visitors frequently praise the authentic taste and texture of staples like croissants, chocolatines, and empanadas, often noting that they rival traditional wheat based versions. The establishment has seen significant positive changes under new ownership, with many reviewers highlighting the welcoming atmosphere, helpful service, and high quality of ingredients. While nearly all feedback is glowing, with many recommending it as a must visit destination, it remains a favorite local gem for its variety of treats and its convenient location near the park.

As a celiac person, this was definitely a dream, I would rate this the number 1 bakery that I've tried. Not only is it gluten free but it is also dairy free all the way & the best part is, you cannot taste the difference. My friend is not celiac & also rates this a top spot to go to. Everything was absolutely delicious, definitely recommend the almond croissant! 100% gluten & dairy free.

Wonderful experience & tasty treats at Parc Sans Gluten!
Though we do not typically follow a gluten free diet, the bakery items looked too good to skip! We tried the blueberry tarte (yum!) & enjoyed iced Americanos. Chatted with the lovely staff who generously offered a taste of the delicious chocolate éclair. The treats were so delicious, we took a chocolatine & croissant sandwich to go!

I got diarrhea & also severe side effects from eating here.

I don't think this place is gluten free & dairy free.

Don't recommend this place & will be submitting report.

Edit: then why do keep saying to the customers it's dairy-free? It's not dairy-free (as per your response here).

Already submitted report to the province for potential food poisoning.

Also their cake tastes awful. Like eating something akin to uncooked bakery.

UPDATE in 2026: This previous review was from 2024, since then Parc sans Gluten has changed owners & it's like day & night! This was the best thing that could have happened to the place. The new owners are super friendly, helpful, they really know what good customer service means! Yes, the prices went up a little bit but besides that the entire place has changed for the better. Now you actually enjoy sitting inside to eat & the quality of the products got also better! No ambiguity anymore when it comes to ingredients, no I don't know how many days old bread.
We could not be happier!

My partner is celiac & this is one of the few gluten free places we can go to on the Plateau. Unfortunately, our experience there has gotten worse & worse.
Not only is the service far from friendly (the person looks as if they don't like working there at all) but the sandwiches don't contain what's indicated on the label. Instead of peas, carrots & chicken you get a sandwich with chicken & bell pepper only in it. Very DISAPPOINTING, I would even call it false advertising.
Another negative point is their communication. We asked them two weeks ago if they have any vacation planned so we could be prepared & go elsewhere. No, they said, nothing planned. Now, they have been closed for two weeks in a row with no sign on the door, no changed hours on Google, nothing. Please, take into consideration that there's people out there who are DEPENDENT on gluten free options & that can't just go to a different place just like that!!

Their prices seem to be random as well, no price labels & our sandwich has a different price every time we buy there. En plus, the machine will be held towards you so you can't see the price.

If this wasn't literally the only 100% gluten free bakery on the Plateau, we'd look elsewhere, but since it's close to Parc Lafontaine it's a nice stop for a snack in the park.

I discovered Parc Sans Gluten yesterday while hanging out at Parc La Fontaine with some friends, & I am so glad I did. As someone with celiac disease, finding safe places to eat can be stressful, so the fact that it was only about a five minute walk from where we were in the park already felt like a win.

Even though we arrived pretty late in the day & they were closing in about an hour & a half, I was surprised by how many options were still available. The selection felt generous & thoughtfully organized. One side had more tarts & pastries, while the other featured classic items like croissants, chocolatines, & almond chocolatines. It actually felt like walking into a'normal' bakery, which is rare when you have to eat gluten free.

I ordered a ham & cheese croissant, which I have been craving for so long. Being able to order one at a café without worrying about getting sick honestly felt amazing. It was super flaky, reminded me of buttery goodness (but it is dairy free!) & really satisfying. I also grabbed a chocolatine for later, & it held up perfectly. I reheated it at home & it tasted fresh, with lots of rich chocolate inside, exactly how I like it.

My friend, who does not need to eat gluten free, also loved their almond chocolatine & said they would definitely come back. The staff member working was incredibly kind & attentive, even checking in to make sure everything was good. They also gave me a loyalty card, which was a nice touch.

It is maybe about a dollar more expensive than other gluten free spots I have tried, but for the quality & peace of mind, it is absolutely worth it. I will definitely be back & recommending it to others.

This place has the best gluten free pastries & croissants I have ever had. My husband has celiac & he said it was the best bakery he has ever had. I would've never guessed it was gluten free. The staff is very nice & very knowledgeable about the products they serve. Highly recommend!
