It's in a really cool part of the city, & the staff were super friendly. Definitely go here.
Top breakfast place in Montreal, always crowded so always noisy (except february march)
We went back for breakfast after having one of the best lunches we've ever had. Ingredients are so fresh & flavorful. Creative dishes without being so avant garde as to not be comforting. Very good service & ambience.
Came in Monday morning for a quick breakfast when the restaurant was half-empty. With at least 5 empty tables the 4 of us were offered to sit at the bar table on hard wooden stools with no back support so we asked for regular tables & initially were offered 2 small tables pushed together which would have been great but then our hostess decided to sit all 4 of us at a table for 2. No explanation & no consideration. That's just part 1. Add to this a very slow services with 3 staff members wondering aimlessly & not getting the last sconewitch that we ordered & were told was available & you understand that staff don't know what they are doing or just don't care. Food was ok but not exciting with sweet ricotta sprinkled with salt & iced coffee that couldn't be made with cream for some strange reason. In other words I would not come here to eat & not recommend it. We ordered takeout the day before & that was quick so that's what I would recommend if at all.
Olive & Gourmando is an absolute gem in Montreal! The variety of pastries is impressive, & everything we tried was incredibly fresh & flavorful. From buttery croissants to unique sweet & savory options, each bite was a delight.
The ambiance is warm & cozy, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or coffee break. The staff is friendly & welcoming, adding to the overall charm of the café.
It's definitely a busy place, & for good reason-the food & atmosphere are worth the wait. If you're in Montreal & looking for a top-notch café experience, Olive & Gourmando is a must-visit!
Warm & welcoming! The moment you enter the good aromas & friendly staff greet you. It's clean & well lit without being overly bright. Service was excellent. The food was excellent. I had the housemade ricotta with marmalade & delightfully light, perfectly toasted local bread. I spooned up every last bit. My friend had the Tex Mex Chili Frittata came with slided avocado, which was also incredible, & filling. Topped with fresh watercress & a side of soft warm bread. The barista was skilled. I enjoyed one of the best cups of hot chocolate ever! We have found our favourite Old Montreal breakfast haunt.
Best brunch we had in Montreal. Had the hot egg breakfast sandwich & the Mexican breakfast. Coming back for another round!
The fruit & yogurt granola was great, good coffee. Loved the vibe, butter croissant was great too. Highly recommend. Great spot for breakfast/brunch if you are visiting Montreal & staying at one of the nearby hotels
What an amazing little find! The food was incredible, especially the tex mex breakfast
Every time we come to Montreal we come to Olive & Gourmando, & it never disappoints. Pastries, coffees, & service are consistently top-notch. Arrive early if you can to get a table, enjoy a languid breakfast, lunch, or snack & watch the world go by.
9.1 out of 10. Beautiful people, beautiful location, great service & the cute server made me laugh & gave me a fun hard time. Food quality was AMAZING. Location AMAZING. Google maps brought me here & for breakfast I will be here every time I am here. We had the chicken melt sandwich & a grilled cheese.
Olive & Gourmando in Montreal is a fantastic spot for a casual yet gourmet meal. The cozy, vibrant atmosphere makes it a great place for breakfast or lunch. Their fresh pastries & creative sandwiches are top-notch, with salads such as the salty ricotta & homemade pastries being standout items. The coffee is excellent, & the service is friendly, though it can get busy, so expect a wait during peak hours. Overall, a must-visit for anyone craving high-quality food with a relaxed vibe in Old Montreal.
Brought a friend to experience O+G. He had an americano which he loved & I had a chai latte. Very dissatisfied- tasted like steam milk with a coating of nutmeg on the top. Then for breakfast had the granola which was heavenly & my partner had a panini that could have easily been shared, was great size.
This place is truly a gem! We adore Vieux Port & make it a point to enjoy at least one meal here at this eatery during every visit. The cinnamon rolls are absolutely divine, melt in your mouth divine, but the star of the show is the poached egg panini. Each bite had us oohing & aahing with delight. The atmosphere is small & relaxed, creating a casual vibe that we love. The staff are wonderful, adding to the overall experience. Although there's often a line, it's definitely worth the wait. We highly recommend this spot especially for breakfast!
The breakfast was delicious, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. I asked about a lost item, & despite some initial discussion among the staff, I didn't get a clear response until I asked a second time. Even then, they told me their colleague was too busy & that nothing had been found-without making any effort to check. It was an unfortunate experience that overshadowed the otherwise good food.
Don't Forget Your Almond Croissant. This quaint little spot always seemed to be hoppin'. A bit of a wait if you try to go for brunch on the weekend, but worth it. There are a variety of delicious pastries as soon as you walk in the door & a larger menu if looking for sit-down breakfast or lunch. The espresso was flavourful but inconsistent each time we stopped in for it. The whipped ricotta with orange honey & toast was quite nice, but make sure to order something that will help cut through that sweetness (like a coffee). Our favourite item happened to be the almond croissant. Something we went back for multiple times. You could taste the real butter as the flakey layers of almond deliciousness melted in your mouth. Oh how I wish I had one right now.
Montreal staple. Always get delicious coffee & breakfast here when returning to visit!
