We absolutely love both The Cubain & the Breakfast Panini!
The Cubain: Meaty, savory, & packed with flavor.
Breakfast Panini: The addition of fresh tomato & a perfect level of spiciness gives it a kick that balances everything out.
On top of the great food, I just love how cozy & relaxing the overall vibe of this cafe is. It's the spot to unwind!
This was literally the best breakfast I've ever had in my life. The panini was fantastic. I'm going to be in Montreal again in August for just one day & this will be the highlight of my trip. Also got some raisin toast, which was also wonderful.
Food is good. Service is good. The cuban sandwhich was very good. Only down is the price, 25$ for a panini is on the pricier side, including the grilled cheese.
The potato salad too is very good, again it's on the pricier side but overall the flavors were all very good.
The best quality coffee so far in Montreal! The panini was incredible too!
TLDR: if you come, split a panini & get something else lighter like a salad. Great pastries. (4.5/5)
Ordered the Cubaine & Mr Miami paninis & a butter croissant. All were delicious but the paninis are excessively oily. The first 3/4 of the panini were absolute heaven, but the last quarter felt like a chore due to the oil-covered bread.
Also of note is the wait times. If you come at peak time, expect waiting for more than 30 minutes. Limited seating but you can do take out.
Way Overpriced & very poor service. The restaurant looks good inside but panini/sandwiches are extremely underwhelming. 26$ each with nothing else. Tips automatically included if more than 4 people. We told them there were bread crumbs on our chairs but instead of taking care of it the waitress gave us napkins for us to do it ourselves. This restaurant is what is 100% wrong with tipping culture. Because they know they can automatically charge 18%, they do not give a damn about providing a minimum service. To avoid, mcdonald would provide a better experience.
Genuinely the best panini I've ever had in my life. I was hesitating on getting the Cubain since I hate pickled things & cilantro, but it was the perfect little kick of it: not too overwhelming. The cheese & the pork were DELICIOUS & I would fly to Montréal again just to eat this.
A great, bustling place in Old Montreal for killer lunch time bites & a trendy, casual vibe. The Cubain panini & chicken melt 🥪 were incredibly tasty. We will definitely be back!
A bit disappointed. Grill cheese used to be an experience. Now the filling is still very good but the bread is ordinary. More like a panini bread barely grilled. For 25$, I expect better.
