We were 2 doing the omasake experience. Everything was so tasty & well balanced, & the chef ga kong was amazing at creating & presenting all these dishes. The entire staff was super nice. Would recommend for sure!

Incredible 16-course Omakase experience. Chef GaCong is very well-spoken to describe his idea & his inspiration behind each tasting piece. He has profound knowledge about his craft & you can feel his passion for Japanese cuisine. The Omakase is a fun, delightful & savoury journey through playful & creative combinations of flavour, aromas & textures. The servicing staff is also very nice & friendly. Also worth mentioning that the service is very accommodating for pescatarian alternatives, which was very much appreciated. I would totally recommend this Omakase experience. 10/10.

We had dinner for my husband's birthday. It was overall a very nice experience! Will definitely recommend:) they even took notes on my reservation for birthday & gave us a small cake! I found it rare in these days for a restraunt.

Titouan could not have been more professional, nicer, or more enjoyable as a server he was such an informed professional. We enjoyed our dinner immensely mostly because of.Titouan. I would highly recommend Nama Omakase & Titouan!

We had a beautiful night & the food was to our surprise very good. We were 4, & we each took the omakase 170$/person, which was an excellent experience!! The fish was so fresh & it melted in your mouth. The quality of not only the fish, but the beef tartare was also impressive. Overall, very pleased. Moreover, the waiters were very kind, making us feel very comfortable & welcomed! The only thing I would point out was that the service could have been slightly faster, but that aside the night was great. Highly recommend for sushi/nigiri lovers.

The food is some of the best I've had in Montreal! I highly recommend the Omakase for the variety & creativity. Although mocktails aren't on the menu, the bar put together a great combination for us. They even let us try one, & when it wasn't to our taste, made us a new mocktail with adjustments. I like that kind of collaborative approach.

The speed of service could be improved, but we were compensated with upgraded food & free drinks, so we can see that they take it seriously.

Wonderful culinary experience in a beautiful setting & staffed by warm conscientious people. The tataki appetizer was delicious (flavor bomb) & the maki sushi roll was amazingly fresh & balanced. I had the shrimp dish & my husband had the short rib. Both were incredible...a true fusion of Japanese & French cuisine. All were paired with very smooth cold saki. The dessert was also unique & delicious. Loved the yuzi ice cream. One thing we will request when we return is more seasoning, as that's our preference. Highly recommended.

Would absolutely recommend! We went for a special birthday & had the most amazing experience. We had the pleasure of being served by Tituan & if you can get him as a server, I can guarantee you the best quality in service & suggestions. We tried the Omakase option which allowed us to try an incredible variety of quality products turned into a well crafted meal. Tituan was able to guide us through every step & explain the origins & inspirations behind the recipes & products allowing us to really get a grasp of the amount of thought & expertise behind this restaurant's menu.

This was my fourth time at Nama Omakase, & Chef Gacong never disappoints. He always pays great attention to detail, making sure every guest feels welcome & leaves completely satisfied. My most recent visit was for a farewell dinner. We chose the 5-course menu at $135. Some of my friends & family were worried they might still be hungry afterward, but by the end, they were absolutely full & they really loved the entire experience, from the rich flavors to the beautiful presentation. The Japanese-French fusion is truly the highlight, blending elegance with creativity. The cocktails are fresh & tasty, perfectly complementing the dishes.

The ambiance is modern & beautiful, & the service is excellent. The staff took the time to explain each dish, which made the experience even more special. Every bite was a true delicacy. Highly recommended! 😁

🌟 What an unforgettable night for my 32nd birthday! 🎉🎂

My partner & I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing the 16-course omakase at Nama with the incredibly talented Chef GaCong Ruan - & let me tell you, this was nothing short of magical. 🍣🍷

I've had the privilege of dining at some of the finest restaurants around the world, & Nama has officially earned a spot in my Top 3 Japanese culinary experiences. I'm genuinely confident this gem 💎 is on its way to a Michelin star - they wholeheartedly deserve it. 🌟🇯🇵

From the mesmerizing music 🎶 to the elegant & intimate atmosphere ✨, every detail sets the stage for a deeply immersive dining journey. The sake & wine pairings were divine 🍶🍷, enhancing every dish with thoughtful balance. Each course was a showstopper - layered, surprising, savory, & absolutely unforgettable. I couldn't even pick a favorite because every single plate was a masterpiece 🔥

But what truly stood out? The passion ❤?, precision, & professionalism that Chef GaCong brings to every bite - all brought to life by the warm, attentive Nama team who made sure our celebration was topped with surprising & caring touches from start to finish. 🙏

The energy at Nama is inspiring, & the attention to detail is simply unmatched. If you're even thinking about it - don't hesitate. I recommend this experience 110% & cannot wait to go back again (& again!) 💯🙌

$135 PP Omakase menu (for two). Great service. Food was hit or miss for us. Lovely experience overall.

Overall impression: Impeccable service from our waiter. Beautiful dessert plating. Too many'pre-packaged'-tasting flavors & disjointed elements to recommend the cooked dishes as standalone. Sushi omakase could still be good.

5 course omakase breakdown:

First course: Beef tartare & red snapper- primary ingredients were both fresh. Tartare had a touch too much sesame oil & felt a bit greasy but still enjoyable. Red snapper was perfectly good. Pickled mushrooms etc. tastes exactly as what you'd get at any other spot. The Lychee(?) had an overwhelmingly synthetic taste. Couldn't help but feel that some elements come commercially prepackaged.

Second course: Eggplant katsu with salad, swordfish on daikon. Great textures in the eggplant with high quality ingredients. Swordfish was a little dry, but fine with the sauce.

Third course: Sushi course. Received red snapper again, & it turned out to be the freshest of the fish in the sushi row. We would have preferred a bit more vinegar in the rice with a little bit more wasabi. Maki was made beautifully, with great balance of flavors, & the fish on top was perfection. While the sushi was subpar, the maki was the highlight of our meal

Fourth course: Short rib & brussels sprouts. Good, familiar flavors. Brussels sprouts were greasy but otherwise cooked perfectly. Short rib a bit dry with a'spice package' tasting sauce.

Fifth course: sake-infused ice cream with rice pudding & orange crisps; gin(?) infused ice cream with cake & what tasted like waffle cone crumbles. Gorgeous plating, both hits & misses (orange crisp = perfect. cake = slightly stale, rice pudding = disjointed, ice creams = delightful)

Bottom line: Good experience. Would not go for the cooked dishes at this price point. Higher end sushi omakase might still be worthwhile if the maki is an indication of freshness & execution with that specific experience.
