Review Summary

LOV is widely regarded as a standout plant-based spot in downtown Montreal, praised for its cozy, stylish ambiance and attentive service. The menu is celebrated for creative vegan and vegetarian dishes, colorful bowls, dumplings, arancini, and a varied drinks list that includes flavorful mocktails. Many reviewers highlight breakfast and brunch options like the energy bowl and tofu Benedict, though a few note that some dishes can be hit or miss and portions or prices can feel steep. The dining room is described as photo-friendly and upscale yet comfortable, making it a popular choice for dates and celebrations. Dietary accommodations, including gluten-free options, are frequently appreciated. There are some criticisms about slow service, inconsistent pacing, or dishes arriving tepid or under-seasoned, and a few mentions of value concerns or menu changes. Overall, LOV is seen as a strong pick for vegetarians, vegans, and curious diners seeking inventive plant-based cuisine, with notable flavors and presentation but with occasional service fluctuations.

We had a fabulous, creative meal at LOV, especially the beet avocado tartare. Our server was attentive & made some great suggestions about what to try. We appreciated the wide range of vegetarian options with the California Bowl being exceptional (& perfect for those of us with healthy appetites). We look forward to a return!

My husband & I went to LOV on a date night. My husband is a carnivore & I am a vegetarian. He is pretty reluctant to eat vegetarian food, however, he absolutely loved the food here.

We both really enjoyed the atmosphere & the food was divine. My husband got an old fashioned & was really impressed.

We both had the French onion soup as our appetizer. We shared the mozzarella as well as the arancini for our mains. I would recommend all three of these dishes.

I highly recommend this restaurant for vegans, vegetarians, & carnivores alike!

The dining area was too cute. The warm vibe was welcoming & the staff was fantastic. The food was absolutely amazing. I don't know if Montreal is just a high caliber for service & food or if I have been lucky. I normally give 3 star ratings. This place blew my mind with their vegetarian dishes. The Konjac salmon was so good. The beet salad was flavourful. The sweet potato fries was the right balance of sweet & savoury. Highly recommend this restaurant.

In my 30 years as a vegetarian, this is the best veg restaurant I've been to.

We had a mixed experience at Lov Restaurant. My boyfriend's vegetarian burger was tasty, & my California bowl was a generous portion. The waitress was friendly & even made me an Aperol spritz that wasn't on the menu, which was a nice touch. However, when we arrived, the host seemed stressed & rushed, giving me a weird look when checking our reservation. He allowed us to choose where to sit, but when we requested a table for two, he firmly said no because it seats four, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. This left us feeling cramped next to other diners. Overall, the food was good, but the service could use some improvement.

Great vegetarian/vegan restaurant in downtown Montreal. Several of their dishes have both vegan & vegetarian versions. The space is very cute & the noise level isn't bad for a romantic dinner. My wife got the vegetarian truffle mushroom risotto which was excellent. I had the coconut curry with butternut squash on rice with cashews & cilantro which I enjoyed immensely. The brownie dessert could have been better hence the one star reduction. It was over cooked & hard in spots. But overall I'll definitely return next time I'm the city.

Ever need to book a restaurant for people with limited options due to their food allergies or restraints? This spot is perfect for EVERYONE. Whether they are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-intolerant, lactose intolerant.. you name it, they cater to it all! & it's not just for vegans or vegetarians - this is the perfect place to try plant-based alternatives that will make you forget you're not eating meat. The food was absolutely delicious! So fresh, with good portions. Their dumplings are "famous" for a reason - they were the ideal starter, along with their soup of the day which was gushed over by those who ordered it. (potato, corn & pepper) We all tried the burgers (Big LOV & Truffle) & were not disappointed. For a meat alternative patty, this is one of the tastier I've tried. LOV is a treasure! We need more places like this.

Our dinner at Lov in Montreal was a standout during our trip, offering a perfect blend of exceptional service, delicious vegan & vegetarian options, & stunning decor. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth & attentiveness that made us feel instantly at ease. The menu at Lov is a haven for plant-based food enthusiasts. My wife, who particularly enjoys vegan cuisine, was thrilled with the variety & creativity of the dishes. Each plate was a vibrant display of fresh, flavorful ingredients that were both satisfying & beautifully presented. The options are so well-crafted that even non-vegetarians will find something to love. The decor of the restaurant is simply breathtaking. With its chic, modern design, lush greenery, & cozy atmosphere, Lov feels like a serene oasis in the heart of the city. The ambiance added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience, making it not just a meal, but a memorable event. Overall, Lov Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in Montreal looking for delicious vegan & vegetarian fare in a beautiful setting. We left feeling satisfied & eager to return on our next visit to the city. Highly recommended!

A great, unique vegetarian/vegan restaurant with a diverse menu to appeal to plenty of tastes. The mushroom risotto is amazing & there are great, hearty salad options. We also really enjoyed our mocktails. The service was relatively quick & very friendly. Prices are reasonable for the quantity & quality of dishes.

Came for brunch & was not disappointed! There is a separate brunch menu, not currently listed on the website. We had Vegan cappuccinos & vegan waffles, & we tried the vegan hazelnut spread pancakes. This is more of a relaxing vibe kind of place where you can meet a friend for brunch & spent some time in a nice place. A cozy restaurant within a large plaza, but when you walk in you feel you have stepped up into a bright, airy, designer space with table seating & a large center bar. The walls are covered in windows which creates a very cool aesthetic. The food is all vegan & the vegetarian menu are the only non-vegan options.

We were very unimpressed with our meal here. As vegetarians we have tried many of these higher-end vegan/vegetarian experiences & felt that this one brought no creativity to its dishes. Moreover, we found the food to be very mediocre.

High quality vegan food, delicious & served by professional & friendly staff. The atmosphere is beautiful, relaxing. This is our new favourite place in DiX30! Highly recommended. People who are not vegan also commented that they enjoyed the vegan & vegetarian dishes. Next level!

The espresso martini is phenomenal! Love that there is a vegetarian restaurant that has fun takes on meat classics (like a salmon tartare) but the kitchen was pretty slow on the day we visited. - Snails: never had meat snails before so it was interesting to taste the vegetarian ones. 3/5 - salmon tartare: the top part was really tasty & reminded me of the actual meat version, but the bottom portion is all guac. 4/5 - brussel sprouts: not spicy & burnt 2/5 - dumplings: great taste, might be a bit too fried 4/5 - kimchi fries: solid choice! 4/5
