Warm, inviting, & creative vegan food with friendly staff. Visiting Montreal, I'd heard of LOV & decided it should be my first stop for dinner. At 8:30pm on a Friday, without a reservation, I was seated upon arrival. Looking over the menu, frankly it is difficult to choose. So, I asked the server for her guidance, ordering the'Calamari' (Hearts of Palm) & Truffle Mushroom Risotto. While the Calamari tasted absolutely nothing like the original dish, the flavor of the breaded hearts-of-palm, coupled with the fresh lemon & creamy sauce, was very good. There was more than enough to share, but eating solo, I stuffed myself. So, when the Risotto arrived, I was a little nervous about making it through the dish. I needn't have worried as the flavors are so complex, rich, & wonderful that I would have eaten another bowl had it been presented to me. It really was delicious with some great texture added by shaved asparagus.
Right about then, my neighbors ordered creme brulee. So, even though I was beyond stuffed, I had to try it. Honestly, the flavor was just about spot on. The texture was more sauce-like than custardy, but I still happily finished every last bit. Overall, it was a great meal at a price of about $50 USD all in - worth every penny.
J'ai été attiré par la déco & j'ai accroché sur le menu végan. Je ne cuisine pas végan donc c' est toujours un plaisir de découvrir ce que les restos offrent de différent. J'ai adoré le risotto aux champignons sauvages & le brownie. La limonade maison était super bonne & les petites attentions, les fleurs sur le verre & la présentation des plats ! La barmaid était très sympathique & m'a offert un excellent service. (Latifa). Bravo à toute l'équipe. Super endroit.
Tellement un bel endroit bien situé & complètement décadent meilleur risotto au champignon ( option végétarien) que j'ai mangé de ma vie. Service impeccable. Rapide.
Came to see what the hype was about & was definitely not disappointed! We got the avocado & beer tartare & the mushroom risotto (vegan version) & both were delicious :) For dessert, we got the brownie & ice cream & while it was delicious, I would not have minded if there was a bit more ice cream to even out the ratio haha! Highly recommend this place!
Had a very poor dining experience at this restaurant. Had to wait almost an hour & a half after ordering, & the food itself left a lot to be desired. The entrées (risotto balls, dumplings & cauliflower) were good but also took a very long time.
There was no Prosecco & so our drink order had to be changed, we were only informed quite a while after ordering so I don't know when the waiter placed the order with the bar but im going to assume much later. Also, no sparkling water. The bar is not well stocked.
The risotto was like a soup. There was a film over the dish from it having been sitting out for so long. The asparagus it came with was undercooked. The burger was bland, & had a sweet purée on the bottom that overpowered the whole thing, I was basically eating a sweet purée between two buns. The other burger had a bun that was so toasted it had the texture of a cracker, while the bottom bun was mush, having been sitting out for so long. There was a millimetre of ketchup in the condiment cup, truly a comical amount, I had to ask for more by flagging down the waiter since he didn't come by to ask how everything was.
We were informed that there was some kind of issue in the kitchen, the chef was not there or something. Difficult to accept, considering tables were seated, served, finished their meals, paid & left all while we remained waiting for our meal. Very frustrating to be hungry & see other people sit down after you & be served before you. We debated leaving but were told that our food would be coming very soon. We would have liked to be informed before sitting down that there was no chef, or that food would take a while for whatever reason.
Generally, the service was not so good. Polite & respectful wait staff, but nobody came to check on us after finally being served, nobody to fill water glasses, after getting our food we were mostly ignored. I feel for the service staff, it seems like there's an organizational or management issue at this restaurant that isn't their fault.
As compensation, we were first offered our drinks to be covered. The drinks were two cocktails & two cans of soda, evidently not good enough & we said as much. Drinks & 20% off the bill was offered, also not good enough but we accepted. However, upon receiving the bill we were informed that they could only remove 15%, again, for nebulous reasons. Overall, a very disappointing & frustrating experience.
I will not be eating here again & would not recommend to others.
The dumplings were incredible, the risotto was perfectly done, & the chocolate cake/brownie was just amazing. The drinks LOV'ini & Tiki Mahana were easily some of the best cocktails I've ever had.
The ambience was romantic, & the service was just as amazing atttentive & welcoming throughout.
So happy to have discovered such a great vegan restaurant. Definitely a place worth visiting!
Fui pela primeira vez ao restaurante para o dia de Sao Valentim com a minha companheira e devo dizer que fiquei surpreendido pelo lado negativo.
Chegamos às 7:15 e fomos bem atendidos, as bebidas chegaram 25 min depois, lento mas nao assim tao grave, o menu era composto por 4 pratos (todos que posso deduzir que já estariam prontos a confecionar, sou cozinheiro à 10 anos e sei muito bem como uma cozinha funciona) para receber a sopa foram mais 20 minutos e para as entradas 20 minutos a mais (e todas as dozes era minúsculas🫤) passados mais nao sei quantos minutos recebi o meu risotto (estava muito bom🤌🏻) mas para melhorar a situaçao o prato da minha namorada demorou mais 10 minutos a chegar, impensável levar apenas um prato para uma mesa sobretudo no dia de Sao Valentim, enfim.
A sobremesa fois um brownie que honestamente era uma dose para uma pessoa apenas, houveram mais pontos a dizer sobre o serviço mais nao quero escrever um testamento😂. Para concluir, a comida era boa e acredito que pelas reviews o restaurante é muito bom mas devo dizer que se devem organizar melhor para inventos como este pois acho impossível cometer estas falhas sobretudo com um menu fácil como o de ontem.
