Camille & Matthew are pure gems!!! The service here is impeccable. One of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. From the cocktails to the desserts everything was delicious & the entire staff was just so damn precise & & hospitable. Would (& did) come here again & again!!! The lobster spaghetti, raw seafood appetizers & if you can get one of their special desserts, do it!!
The best dinner I have ever had. Everything from the service to the atmosphere was exceptional. An absolute must go! Try the lobster spaghetti, chicken thighs, sourdough, salad & fries! All sooooo delicious!

This place & Joe Beef were recommended to us. We visited in summer 2024. Here are reviews in important areas of our dining experience. SERVICE We were early & requested a change to sit at the table rather than the bar. The request was accommodated with kindness, albeit a wait but communication brief & positive. Table service, fun, casual, professional with positive energy. FOOD We had oysters & special of the day scallops. Spaghetti lobster (the best!) & fish. Wine list by glass is good. dessert was good but not wow. AMBIENCE Lighting indoor seating is low. Music playlist is fun, modern & good choice. Service by the bar & staff were all jolly & positive hence it radiates good vibes.
another stunner restaurant by the joe beef group. all the dishes were so well prepared & gave you a sense of comfort from an elevated home cooked meal. we got the lobster bisque, skate wing special & the fish as well as the chocolate mousse & doughnut hole dessert. everything was amazing. vin papillon is still my fav but this is up there for top in the city.
Not impressed with the food. My second visit. Unless you like your scallops or tuna appetizers drowned in bbq spices help yourself & stay away. Not much to see in terms of cuisine IMHO. My son had the 71$ lobster spaghetti, he liked it.
Thank you AMEX for having this on the fine restaurants & dining list! From the service to every food item & the terrace, everything was perfect. i recommend the lobster spaghetti & hanger steak! this is a must visit if you're in montreal

First time here not sure if it was just this night but the mains were extremely salty... The appetizers (we got the burrata, oysters, scallop & fish tartare) were excellent. But following, the hanger steak & sweat bread casserole were so salty we barely finished them. The lobster pasta was good though. The desserts were just alright For the price of everything I had higher expectations (170$ pp) I like their sister restaurant Joe Beef is bette
Decided to come to Liverpool house for dinner with my wife. I got the lobster spaghetti & it is currently my favorite pasta dish. The wife's dish on the other hand wasn't as good but was still delicious overall. I can't thank the servers enough for how kind & understanding they were. Our Uber got into a small accident & we ended up being almost a half hour late to our reservation. I called them & they said not to worry & that they would take care of us. In conclusion, Liverpool house is a nice restaurant with great food but even better staff. It can get a little pricy but was well worth it.
Had a great time at Liverpool. Service was excellent & the food was even better! Fresh oysters & best lobster spaghetti I've ever had but the surprising number one item was the bread & butter. That was actually THE best butter I've ever had & if Liverpool House wanted to start selling it by the pound in grocery stores I'd be first in line!
At the top of my list were the famed sister restaurants Joe Beef & Liverpool House, which are well known Montreal institutions but which I, like many, had become familiar with via the late Anthony Bourdain. Liverpool House is also where Justin Trudeau once took Barrack Obama for dinner once. Joe Beef was filled up a few weeks in advance but I was able to snag a reservation for one at the bar on a Thursday evening at Liverpool House. & I figured, if it's good enough for Obama it should be OK for me. They have an often-changing menu that varies with the seasons, as well as some regular specialities. They are known for the lobster spaghetti so I had my mind on that going in, but seeing the market price on this day I decided it was just too rich for my blood. I considered the Pork Belly Normandy briefly but, in the end., went with the French bistro classic of steak frites, medium-rare. As an aside, I have decided to try to switch my steak preference from medium to medium-rare, & this as the first time actioning this. While waiting for my dinner I accepted a recommendation for a nice glass of red, made small talk with my neighbor who seemed to work in the restaurant industry & know the staff here, & politely declined the offer to do a shot with them. My neighbour lamented the chef refused to make him a ham & cheese sandwich; I suggested he order it as a Croque Monsieur instead & he thought this may work. I'll handle the sides first. The veg was a wedge of lettuce dressed with a light vinaigrette. The dressing was good but, while it's popular in fancy restaurants, I find this a lazy way to make a salad. I'm not a big fry guy. These had some crisp & were well-salted, & with the mayo I enjoyed them. The steak was served sliced & in a sauce, & was cooked as ordered. It was flavourful & tasty & I savoured every bite. The simple things done well are enjoyable indeed. I'll try to be back my next time in Montreal for sure. A good meal to start my culinary long weekend.
Food: Lobster spaghetti: Sauce is pretty good. However lobster tail have the texture of Rubber & claw is undercooked. Steak frites: salty, not much flavor otherwise Service: the guy is good, however this place is under stuff & i was going to tell him about the lobster issue but I guess he don't have time to come around. Also they charge tip on top of tax which I find crazy... Atmosphere: noisy- can't hear anything basically. Cramp in small spaces & trying not to knock over plates. Overall it would be okay for a 50 dollar restaurant but at this price point not worth it I would say
I had the opportunity to dine at this establishment recently, & while the ambiance & service were quite pleasant, I must admit that I was a tad disappointed with the lobster pasta I ordered. The dish had a few shortcomings, as the lobster seemed a bit overcooked & the overall flavor didn't quite meet my expectations felt very bland.
Moreover, I found the prices on the menu to be on the higher side, & when the bill arrived, I couldn't help but feel like I may have overpaid for the dining experience.
In conclusion, this restaurant has potential, but it might be worth reconsidering your choices if you're seeking a flawless lobster pasta dish & are mindful of your budget.
There are some hits & misses with our visit. First I am shocked at the rave review the lobster spaghetti is getting. It's the reason I ordered it. It's $35 more than any of the other entre but you are getting so little for that premium. You get a huge mound of spaghetti with one small claw, a knuckle & a half a tail. So $74 for this?!
The duck pie, streak frite & beef tartare were exceptional. They saved our visit & justified the cost.
The blueberry tart was forgettable.
Liverpool House overall met our expectations for a fine dining experience in a casual setting. We were the first seating & glad we came early. Halfway thru our dinner, the noise of the restaurant was extremely loud. I could hear conversations two tables over lol.
I don't think we would go back but we had a good time due to the great service we received. The staff is great.

Liverpool House, nestled in the heart of Montreal, provides an ambiance that is a delightful blend of casual & upscale. Its eclectic menu boasts of a variety of dishes that evoke a fusion of traditional & modern culinary artistry. The oysters & lobster spaghetti are, without a doubt, crowd favorites, a testament to the kitchen's prowess with seafood.
However, Liverpool House is not without its drawbacks. During my visit, the waiting time was noticeably longer than expected, even with a reservation in place. Additionally, while most dishes hit the mark, a few, like the roasted chicken, felt a tad underwhelming, especially given the establishment's reputation & price point.
The staff, though polite, seemed slightly overwhelmed, which affected the overall service speed & attentiveness. Perhaps it was just an off-night, given the high volume of customers.
All in all, Liverpool House offers a good but not impeccable dining experience. It shines in its seafood offerings & ambiance, but there's room for improvement in service & consistency.
