Fortunately, it still tastes the same as I remember. The moment I took a bite, the unchanging deliciousness was a warm & reassuring presence in this unpredictable era.(May 2025)
In the restaurant, the sense of touch, vision, taste, & smell are all labeled with elegance. There is both a sense of formal ritual & a psychological comfort zone. The food tastes great!
The dish'canton' is great, with large pieces of meat filling the bottom of the pot, which is absolutely full. The duck Benedict is a little sweet because of the caramelized red onions. If you are not used to it, be mindful!
Reservations are not available on weekends, you can only queue up. Arrive before 11 am & there will be a seat. Possibly queue up after that.(2024)
Food was good. The duck Bénédict was yummy but a tad small & served slightly cold. My friend got the skillet & the meats there were delicious.
The Lac Brome (duck confit eggs benedict) was delicious. The duck & the orange hollandaise was the perfevt pairing. The yolks were perfectly runny. I also got the breakfast martini which had a nice cinnamon & maple flavour to it. Almost reminded me of an egg nog.
The service was also super friendly & fast. Our server was always smiling. There are a lot of fancy places in Old Montreal. This one felt friendly & cozy, yet maintained its upscale nature.
Just totally perfect. Fabulous good, great place, lovely staff. Can't recommend highly enough. Don't miss the Lac Brome - eggs Benedict but with perfectly cooked duck confit! 👌🏻
Really great breakfast food. I had the croissant sandwich & my wife had the salmon benedict, both were excellent. They also have a little coffee stand up front if you just want to grab & go. Highly recommend!
The food didn't have any taste, the duck Benedict was bland. I don't understand why the rating is high as neither of 3 meal course was average. The only point was the service.
Everything was phenomenal! The attention to detail was noteworthy. The menu is small, which ensures that each item is perfected. Delicious eggs Benedict (with ridiculously delicious roasted potatoes), as well as a goat cheese/pesto/spinach toast with poached eggs & a dessert of yogurt, granola & fresh fruit. Earl Gray tea served with steamed milk (a small but thoughtful addition for the tea obsessed).
The quality of the food was great & the ingredients were fresh & healthy. We had a special lychee cocktail which was fantastic. The only thing was that portion of the Benedict that was a little bit less than typical.
Amazing!!! Big portion, beautiful presentation, delicious food, everything was on point. the service was great. Tried the pancakes, eggs benedict w. duck confit, & the avocado toast. All were great
Stylish interior, nice atmosphere & service, food was great. Coffee (important to me) was excellent as well. Had Eggs Benedict. Honestly, you won't regret it.
What a cute cafe in montreal! I forgot what the name I got, but it was an eggs benedict with smoked salmon. It sounded so good all three of my friends & i got it & it was so good. Our waitress was very sweet & kind & gave us recommendations. I got the orange chocolate coffee & although i asked for it iced, it did come out hot, but nonetheless it was still really good hot. Would recommend coming!
On a Saturday morning, when the autumn sun grants beautiful Montréal with a golden light, Le Cartet has a lot to offer. The salmon version of the Benedict eggs is balanced & generous. The tempranillo red wine seems to come directly from Barcelona.
