My friend & I wanted to share a joyous & memorable afternoon at The Ritz High Tea.
Such a Horrible experience after we waited a while to get our tray of goodies, the waiter was very awkward
After our meal, a manager came to see us & practically told us we must leave as they needed the table ( very rude) We knew we had at least 2 hours to enjoy our Christmas celebration.
He rudely told us we needed to leave as we were only 2 guests & time allocated for 2 guests was an 1 hour & 1/2.
More confusion when our waitress came to apologize & told us we were allowed to stay 2 hours
Please get your story straight!!
If they take too many reservations it shouldn't affect the customers who are there to enjoying the experience of High Tea at Christmas time.
It left a very bad taste & never expected this from a high class restaurant. Very unprofessional & very disappointing
The manager or whoever he was should get spoken to & shown how to treat people.
We felt confused & could not understand the attitude he was giving us
For such a magical & festive moment- it was totally ruined.
Spending money & having a very rude ending was so discouraging . We left there with such dismay & a feeling of disbelief.!!!
I would reconsider before coming here for high tea. This was quite a disappointment, especially considering the amazing reviews online & the weight that the name carries. The food was good, not great. Same for the tea. It all would have been passable & I don't think I would have bothered writing a review, if it wasn't for the horrible service we got. We were more often than not waiting. Waiting for our order to be taken. Then waiting for tea. Then waiting for water. Then waiting for the bill.
Our experience was excruciatingly slow due to the poor service we received from the waiter. If it was a busy day, I would have easily forgiven him. But on a slow Monday morning, you can do better.
This is not the level of service I expected from the Ritz, certainly not at this price point.
The Afternoon Tea at the Ritz-Carlton Palm court is great. A few seating starting at 11:30.
People staying at the hotel & outside goes there for a good tea & have good time between friends or a romantic date.
Good selection of teas & may champagne could be added.
The place is beautiful, modern & quite.
From the Manager to the servers, all the staff is attentive & professional & they do a great job to let you feel well & welcome.
Went there to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday & experience our first tea service together. We had a green tea & black tea(do not remember the names but it was a matcha & heavenly…) & these were both good. I was disappointed because I had to request milk & when they brought it out it was cold. Who wants to cool down their tea… please warm it up on the future. Out of the 3 tiers, the scones were our favourite with the jams. The dessert was the worst, only appreciated 1 out of the tray & the sandwiches were ok. The atmosphere & decor were great. It's definitely something to experience tea time.
High Tea Visit- Gorgeous venue, but hardly worth the extremely steep pricing! Expected more & better than the very pretty-looking artistic but miniscule, microscopic offerings. More suited to insect-sized portions than what to feed even to a bird.
Would also have been expected the server to offer, even once throughout, either warming or changing of water for the one tea, one teabag! Or to ask if all was okay or if we wanted anything else!
A bad deal & hardly worth the cost or bother, apart from the elegant surroundings.
We were highly disappointed & left needing the quick fix of bacon cheeseburgers to feel that we had eaten anything.
Went for high tea with mother-in-law & sisters in law. Thank you for making this a memorable event. It was perfect in every way.
Best high tea experience! Delicious food, beautiful ambiance, & amazing service. I have been here several times & will definitely return. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful tea on Victoria Day. The service was great & they were able to accomodate my food sensitivities. Everything was very delicious. Thank you so much!
So this isn't your typical high tea experience. Very different from other Ritz locations & not that traditional. The scones were dry, the pastry just ok, there salty treats were ok too. The setting is cute but it's not intimate enough. I'm a big fan of high tea & I'm not sure this is the IT plave. The service on the other hand was impeccable & the tea choices were great.
Just okay. The service was extremely slow: our table was ready 30min after our reservation time & we didn't get our teas until after we had finished all of our food. The pastries were good, as were the scones, but the savory items left much to be desired: very small, very little protein, & all tasted kind of the same. There are MUCH better high tea places in the city.
Very beautiful building. The ballroom was very pretty & the piano was very enjoyable. Our server was sweet. Tea was good. Food was bad. Not worth the money.
L endroit est beau , le service impeccable mais ce n'est est pas le luxe des autres tea room des Hôtels Ritz dans le monde . L assortiment salé/ sucré moyen .
The Ritz-Carlton Tee experience was exceptional! The service was top-notch, the bites were inspired & delicious, the tea was excellent, & the ambiance was elegant & uplifting. Highly recommend!
We went here to kick off our honeymoon, & it was a lovely experience for a special occasion. Service was phenomenal & attentive without rushing. The ambiance is also very nice, & everything feels upscale. I loved the scones & all the savory options. Desserts were also pretty good (I'm not as much of a dessert lover so I preferred the sandwiches). The tea cocktails were the highlight- both the chai espresso martini & jasmine mimosa were really unique & delicious. Most afternoon teas where I live are quite pricey so honestly this one was pretty affordable for the experience, I think, but I'm not familiar with local pricing.
Such a fun experience! Excellent, fresh treats & a great waitress that recommended their best teas / lattes.
I tried many afternoon tea restaurants in Montreal this summer & although the Palm Court is good, it's not the best. The experience was just ok for me however, the service was great.
My mom & I had a beautiful experience enjoying our afternoon Tea. The sandwiches were divine, the flavors were inventive, fresh & rich. My favorites were a roast beef sandwich with truffle, which was rich & creamy. & a cucumber & caviar boat. Which was fresh with a touch of creaminess. The pastries were delicious. Including a mousse that tasted like caramel popcorn. It was resting on a delicious & buttery pie dough. The scones were also delicious, & the spreads were on point, specially one with strawberry & rose. I loved their tea selection. Their options were fresh & very tasty. The servers were very kind & attentive. Services was well timed. & everyone explained everything to us very clearly when we mentioned it was our first time. It was a very nice experience! Loved the decor, including the huge painting of Artemis.
First of all, this place is dazzling & so fancy! I went there with 3 friends for a bachelorette party & mentioned it in the réservation. Even if there was a small incident that resulted in our table being forgotten, as soon as the waiters realized that we had been waiting for 30 minutes without someone coming over to offer us tea, they apologized & offered each one of us a free drink (value of 18$) & we received a great service thereafter. The snacks are varied, & our friend got a gluten-free version of what we were served (which is available when you mention it in the reservation or by writing directly to the company). There was a wide option of tea, enough for about 5 cups of tea (but with the possibility of asking for more hot water), so we had quite enough to taste each other's chosen tea flavors. There was a also nice gesture for my soon-to-be-wedded friend: they brought her her own plate of food, adorned by a small chocolate with some words written on it for the occasion. During the tea party, one of the staff offered to take a picture for us when she saw us trying to take some, & another staff happily took pictures after we were done when we asked to have them taken somewhere specific. We were then offered to take some more in the small garden, which was breathtakingly beautiful. To get there, we passed by a big reception room that is often used for weddings & we were just so amazed by everything. It was a great experience overall & I would gladly go there again in the future!
I always love afternoon the Ritz in Montreal, however, my one complaint this time around is that they spray a VERY strong air freshener in their lobby & since the Palm Court is adjacent to the lobby, the scent becomes part of the tea experience. As someone who is highly sensitive to chemicals, this is extremely unpleasant to have to endure. With the knowledge we have today at how toxic air fresheners are, I cannot understand why hotels are subjecting their patrons to this.
