Deeply disappointing. Service was really bad (except for the manager who was very friendly). So slow that the table besides us decided to leave because they never came to take order or offer drinks after 15mins. We got water also about 15mins after arriving.
Slow service would have been forgiven if food would have been good, but alas… nothing to write home about. The only nice thing were the mocktails my daughter ordered (which arrived about 30mins into seating).
We ordered the cauliflower salad (it was not bad) & the salmon with risotto, which was so ordinary it did not account for the price tag.
Second time we go for Christmas Eve. Last year service was good & food was not bad. Decided to go there again because the Christmas decor is stunning, & that did not disappoint.
Sadly we wanted to make this a yearly tradition, but will not be returning.
Such a cute experience every time. I've been here multiple times with my baby girl(first when she was under one, now she's 15 months)& it's always lovely. Went during Christmas & the vibes were magical. The live pianist was such a nice touch. Food is okay, but honestly you're paying for the atmosphere. It's become a little tradition with my daughter, & I'll definitely bring my toddler next time. Super cute & worth it for the whimsical Christmas decor.
Went there to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday & experience our first tea service together. We had a green tea & black tea(do not remember the names but it was a matcha & heavenly…) & these were both good. I was disappointed because I had to request milk & when they brought it out it was cold. Who wants to cool down their tea… please warm it up on the future. Out of the 3 tiers, the scones were our favourite with the jams. The dessert was the worst, only appreciated 1 out of the tray & the sandwiches were ok. The atmosphere & decor were great. It's definitely something to experience tea time.
My mom & I had a beautiful experience enjoying our afternoon Tea. The sandwiches were divine, the flavors were inventive, fresh & rich. My favorites were a roast beef sandwich with truffle, which was rich & creamy. & a cucumber & caviar boat. Which was fresh with a touch of creaminess. The pastries were delicious. Including a mousse that tasted like caramel popcorn. It was resting on a delicious & buttery pie dough. The scones were also delicious, & the spreads were on point, specially one with strawberry & rose. I loved their tea selection. Their options were fresh & very tasty. The servers were very kind & attentive. Services was well timed. & everyone explained everything to us very clearly when we mentioned it was our first time. It was a very nice experience! Loved the decor, including the huge painting of Artemis.
High tea at the ritz is a fun experience to do at least once. Our server was probably the most enthusiastic server I've ever had. The tea itself was exceptional. The presentation for the sandwiches & desserts was lovely & charming. We were not blown away by the quality of the food, but we very much enjoyed it & found portions generous. The decor itself had an element of old world charm & we were able to linger into the afternoon.
We went for afternoon tea today. Food was great, tea was good & decor & ambiance were amazing. The only disappointing part was the service... it took a while before they came & took our order. Then they waited until we were done sandwiches to bring the tea which I've never seen before. I went to afternoon teas all over Canada & Europe & I've never seen this before. Tea should be served even before the food. They offered a refill of hot water after we had finished all the food & were ready to pay.... Service was slow, I had to ask for them to bring out the tea & it took a while before they came to process our payment. Overall what they offer is great for the price point but they need to work on the service part.
Afternoon tea service: Excellent service, attentive & helpful. Nice decor. Scones were very scrumptious. Desserts were delicious especially the creative chocolate one. Finger sandwiches were a bit hit or miss though. The shrimp one was too heavy on the dill for example. Presentation was perfect overall.
Absolutely delightful. We went for. New Year's Eve afternoon tea. The staff, food & experience will stay with me for a long time. We had champagne, tea sandwiches, scrumptious pastries, & very nice tea. The decorations at the Ritz were incredible. It was very special indeed.
