This resto was my fav resto in mtl but i dont know how they can keep a good customer loyalty if whenever you would go there you'll be asked to wait 2-3 hours & the waiting list is always more or less 40-50. This is an eat all you can restaurant, so people actually try to eat minimally or actually not eat at all before coming here. Imagine the disappointment the customers feel when they get denied or get asked to wait few hours. They were already looking forward to eat at this specific resto the whole day.. ofc when you deny them service they would go somewhere else. What happened to me is, I want 5-7 times already, I would always get asked to wait hours & hours & I would be put on 30th-50th line. I mean, this restaurant should already find ways to increase their capacity or they would just keep losing actual lotal customers like me because not everyone has the patience to be served when starving

Horrible experience.
We went for dinner with friends - six grown men - all sharing one BBQ grill (great start already). We ordered multiple dishes, many of which never showed up. Service then just… stopped. Less than an hour in, after only three rounds of ordering, that was it. & even during those rounds, half the food we ordered never made it to the table.
We even took the initiative to ask a server where our order was. They said they would look into it - & then never came back.
A server finally came about an hour after our last order to ask what we would like for dessert, & that was it. The only memorable thing was a small portion of crème brûlée-style cake, which was actually amazing.
Still, considering there were six of us & grilling takes time, this made absolutely no sense. We each paid a good amount of money, yet somehow still left hungry - so much so that we ended the night at McDonald's. Not exactly the post-BBQ plan we had in mind.

My friend suggested this place, & I was expecting Japanese BBQ, but it turned out to be more of a Korean BBQ. The quality of the meat was hit or miss-some cuts looked great, while others had way too much fat compared to meat. The non-meat menu options were just okay.
The service was fine overall, though there were a few language barrier moments. The ambiance was nice. I do wish they had sushi options like some of their other branches. That said, my friends & I still had a nice time overall.

Everything was absolutely delicious. Yes, literally everything! Gyubee Japanese Grill is easily my top choice for East Asian barbecue in North America right now.
The service was just as impressive: efficient, attentive, & genuinely friendly. Special shout-out to Ayman, who made our experience even better with his speed & great attitude.
We didn't have to wait because we arrived before 5:00 PM, but shortly after we were seated, the wait time quickly grew to at least 30 minutes. I'd highly recommend either coming early or making a reservation in advance.
Overall, I'd give this place a five-star rating for taste, price, & service. For food of this quality at this price point, the value is simply unbeatable.

I've dined at many restaurants in Montreal over the years, but this was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had. The service was noticeably unprofessional - staff were busy chatting with each other & openly watching customers instead of paying attention to their tables. We were left waiting far too long.
The food quality & hygiene were especially concerning. The meat tasted off & had an unpleasant smell, & shortly after the meal I experienced stomach issues & diarrhea. This is not something I've experienced elsewhere, & it raised serious concerns about food handling & preparation.
As a diner, I expect basic standards of service & food safety. Unfortunately, this restaurant failed on both. I won't be returning & would not recommend it.

My partner & I had a pleasant time & were satisfied with the quality of the food in general. The staff were friendly & ready to assist, although one tiny problem we had is that the orders would often be forgotten & we had to ask for them on multiple occasions to receive them, hence the 4 star. However, in general we had a good time & would recommend this place to others too.
