Really enjoyable dining experience overall. Gyubee in Montreal is a great spot if you're looking for a fun, interactive meal with high-quality ingredients. The all-you-can-eat concept is well executed, & there's a solid variety of meats, sides, & appetizers to choose from.
The quality of the meat stands out, especially the marinated options which are flavorful & tender. Grilling everything at your table adds to the experience & makes it feel more engaging than a typical restaurant outing. It's a great place to go with friends or in a group.
Service was generally good, with staff being attentive & quick to bring out orders, although it can slow down a bit during busy times. The restaurant itself has a lively atmosphere, but it can get quite noisy & a bit crowded.
Overall, a very solid spot for Japanese BBQ in Montreal. Great food & a fun experience, just be prepared for a busy environment.
Belle soirée en amoureux au grill japonais GYUBEE. Pas de réservation possible, nous devons nous inscrire en personne sur une liste d'attente qui permet de suivre en direct notre progression.
Au final, nous avons attendu une demie heure. Un fois assis, la nourriture arrive très vite. Notre serveuse était très gentille & attentive aux moindres besoins.
Par contre, assurez vous de savoir parler anglais.
Il y avait des séparateurs entre chacunes des tables qui permettaient d'avantage d'intimité.
Nous avons adoré le steak mariné au miso & l'agneau. Honnêtement, il y avait beaucoup de bons choix! La seule déception: le porc ne goûtait pas grand chose. Sinon, toutes les types de viandes (& autres accompagnements) étaient excellents.
Nous recommanderons assurément cet endroit.
Gyubee Japanese Grill, l'un des meilleurs restaurants japonais à Montréal ! Les viandes étaient vraiment fraîches & parfaitement cuites. En plus des différentes variétés de viandes, les sushis & les desserts que j'ai essayés étaient également excellents. C'est définitivement un endroit à visiter pour les amateurs de cuisine japonaise !
Amazing value & $10 less per person than Richmond, BC location!!! If you don't want to be 300th in line on the waiting list just be there at 4pm & you will be guaranteed a seat. Great service - the food came quickly after ordering & our server changed the grill often enough to prevent flames.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. My husband & I visit it very often because we love the Japanese grill concept, the food is delicious, the service is excellent, & we love the atmosphere.
Everything was outstanding from start to finish. The quality of the meat was exceptional - beautifully marbled, fresh, & perfectly cut. Grilling it at the table was fun, & each bite was juicy, tender, & full of flavor. The dipping sauces complemented the beef beautifully without overpowering it.

Horrible experience.
We went for dinner with friends - six grown men - all sharing one BBQ grill (great start already). We ordered multiple dishes, many of which never showed up. Service then just… stopped. Less than an hour in, after only three rounds of ordering, that was it. & even during those rounds, half the food we ordered never made it to the table.
We even took the initiative to ask a server where our order was. They said they would look into it - & then never came back.
A server finally came about an hour after our last order to ask what we would like for dessert, & that was it. The only memorable thing was a small portion of crème brûlée-style cake, which was actually amazing.
Still, considering there were six of us & grilling takes time, this made absolutely no sense. We each paid a good amount of money, yet somehow still left hungry - so much so that we ended the night at McDonald's. Not exactly the post-BBQ plan we had in mind.
Everything was absolutely delicious. Yes, literally everything! Gyubee Japanese Grill is easily my top choice for East Asian barbecue in North America right now.
The service was just as impressive: efficient, attentive, & genuinely friendly. Special shout-out to Ayman, who made our experience even better with his speed & great attitude.
We didn't have to wait because we arrived before 5:00 PM, but shortly after we were seated, the wait time quickly grew to at least 30 minutes. I'd highly recommend either coming early or making a reservation in advance.
Overall, I'd give this place a five-star rating for taste, price, & service. For food of this quality at this price point, the value is simply unbeatable.
Love the food & environment! Enjoyed my meal & service. My server Lina offered to cut the meat for me since I was having a hard time & frequently changed our grill. Much appreciated!!
Service is excellent & the food is amazing. My group mainly ordered marinated meat & we enjoyed it a lot. Our waitress Lina was very welcoming, friendly & proactive to help change the grill pans & to check up on us between our orders. Will definitely come back more often!

Very cool way to eat Japanese food. You grill to your liking. . Nicely decorated clean place. Background music. Bit noisy. Friendly staff & helpful. Food comes fast. Everything is fresh. Definitely worth trying something new. Bring your smartphone for ease of ordering.
Excellent service & amazing food ! I absolutely enjoy the marinated meats they had available on their menu such as the prime Kalbi,marinated lamb, ribs, miso beef brisket, garlic beef brisket & so much more!! Everything was excellent , fresh & sooo tender!! The grill aren't those hot plate that we see in most BBQ restaurant it's the grilled one instead like in the BBQ 🫶 I really like that they give the meat part & that there is no bones ! I absolutely love the vibe, fast service & the food we're absolutely delicious from the vegetables, the meats to the dessert !! 😋

The food here is absolutely delicious, the grill at the table is a fun experience, & the service is great (& sometimes includes a cat robot). Highly recommend for date nights or group outings, but get on their online wait-list if you're going on a busier night. Only criticism is that it's so good that it's often packed & can be a bit loud.

An all-you-can-eat japanese buffet! Gyubee is by far my favourite grill spot in the city! We got there 40 mins before last call & they still took us, no wait, giving us a table right away!!!
The meats- flavourful, tender. Awesome. Personal faves are briskets & short ribs. Rice was decent. Good selection of veggies although I would add a bit more greens. Ice cream is ok. Creme brûlée lacks flavour. (We're not here for desserts anyway) Selection of sojus are great. Our waiter was awesome, giving good recommendations. Fast service. Polite. We will for sure be back!!

Decided to grab some Korean BBQ with friends during lunch & this place was awesome. The all-you-can-eat setup is great when you're hungry, & everything came out quick & fresh. Service was solid-staff checked in often & swapped out our grill without us even having to ask.
One thing to watch out for if you have a nut allergy like I do, most of the marinades & sauces contain peanuts. I told the staff right away & they walked me through what was safe. Really appreciated how seriously they took it.
This is an all you can eat place, so don't expect the best cuts, thus the quality for the money you are paying is at its best. The prime Kalbi is a good mix of flavor meat & marinade. The other dishes that are not grilled they are also good.
This place is always crowded so make your reservation in advance.
They have a maximum of two hours per table that they would respect if they are crowded .
Truly the best Japanese grill in Montreal ! As a matter of fact, just the best grill in Montreal!
The service is so efficient, the quality of the food is top tier, & for the same price as any other grill!
Big shoutout to the manager Wang & the waitress Nora for finding us a table early eventhough the waitlist was 3 hours long !
