That Korean barbecue was exactly what I needed after the Browns win tonight. I am a lot more fun than the raw meat though, & definitely a better catch than anyone else in this place. If you have the confidence to keep up, I am waiting to hear from you.
No reservation accepted. You just have to be on their not-too-long-waitlist online until you receive a notification to go there. Amazing. But here is the thing. I went there with my girlfriend for only one purpose: eat, eat & eat, because this is all-you-can-eat, with a limit time of 2 hours. We didn't even socialize that much. Yes I eat a lot, like competitive eaters. However, the waiter started to avoid our table & just disappeared to never be seen again but once in a while, he would just suddenly Naruto-run past our table while using people as covers. We've only ordered twice to safely try everything on the menu. But we could have ordered 3 times more if we had a better attentive waiter. 30 minutes before our full 2 hours, he came back just to say'last call' while looking all impatient like he needed to go for a quick liquid number 2. I ordered but… to my regret, I should have ordered like 200 plates of prime kalbi as a last call. What would he have done? I would assume responsibility & pay for what I wasn't able to eat (I doubt it would happen as I always finish my plates). Would he have kicked us out once it's exactly 2 hours? He has put quite some pressure for someone who didn't show up to our table enough. Many AYCE places will have 2 hours limit as well, but they don't really enforce it to that extreme extent. The 2 hours limit is there for reasonable reasons as you're not supposed to be chilling there not eating while there are other reservations coming after. It is in place so that the reservations could go smoothly, not chaoticly. I'm normally satisfied with 2 hours when the service is great. Gyubee's meat quality is the best you can find for AYCE. In comparison, the quality is better than Taiyo BBQ, but not as great as Gyu-Kaku (but Gyu-Kaku is not AYCE). Because of strong poor service from that one Naruto waiter we had, I would take away 2 strong stars. So 3/5. Give him some smoke bombs to make it more spectacular every time he disappears while at it. I might give it a 5/5 for entertainment. Arigato gozaimashta. (But the waiter was Chinese).

Restaurant très fréquenté reservation recommandé. Réservé pour 19h nous avons finalement eu une place à 19h30.
De retour cet été, la qualité est restée égale par contre le service a régressé. On est dans le speed tout doit aller vite. Un client qui n'a pas l'habitude de ce concept sera perdu vu qu'on ne va pas prendre le temps de lui expliquer.
En gros quand on vient à Guybee on est censé savoir comment ça fonctionne, on y mange uniquement ne pas s'attarder sur des discussions trop longues à table car vous n'avez que 2h.
Une expérience culinaire à part entière, bien au-delà du simple restaurant. Gyubee, c'est le concept du grill japonais à table dans toute sa splendeur, transplanté en plein coeur de Montréal sur la rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest.
Le principe est simple & redoutablement efficace : on choisit ses pièces en amont - boeuf marbré, poulet, viandes marinées, légumes, maïs grillé - qui arrivent en petites portions calibrées.
On pose le tout directement sur le grill encastré dans la table, on ajuste la cuisson à son goût, on coupe les morceaux aux ciseaux fournis, on trempe dans les sauces.
& comme c'est à volonté, on recommande dès que l'assiette est vide.
Un point d'attention important cependant : le gaspillage est strictement interdit & sanctionné d'une surtaxe si les commandes ne sont pas consommées. C'est une règle tout à fait logique dans un établissement qui propose ce format, & ça incite à commander intelligemment plutôt qu'en excès.
La qualité des produits est au rendez-vous : le boeuf est bien marbré, les marinades bien dosées, & les petits accompagnements comme le crème de maïs grillé ou la soft serve en dessert finissent le repas sur une note douce & originale.
Côté service, la salle est propre, moderne, bien insonorisée en box individuels - & un robot de livraison circule entre les tables pour apportez les commandes, ce qui amuse autant les enfants que les adultes.
Réservation indispensable : le restaurant affiche souvent complet, & la liste d'attente peut être longue les soirs de week-end.
