My buddy who grew up here took me to this charming old school diner & I'm sure glad he did. I ordered the smoked meat platter with loose bread & the chop chop poutine. have had smoked meats around Montreal & New York & I'd have to say this one blew all the other ones out of the park. The meat was so juicy, moist & had an incredible Smokey flavor. The poutine was also fantastic. I ended up coming back here a second time before leaving Montreal to get another smoked meat fix.

Caveat, we generally are not really into fast food, but we do like a good pastrami sandwich & wanted to try poutine, & love historic vintage places, so we decided to give Greenspot a try. The smoked meat sandwich & poutine were the best things we tried. I liked the squeaky cheese & the style of fries, both crispy & soft at the same time, but the gravy was a bit too salty. The smoked meat sandwich was stuffed with meat, like at Katz's Deli in New York & tasted great. The pizza which my son had oddly had the pepperoni under the cheese (maybe this is a Canadian thing). He enjoyed it. My daughter & husband shared a lasagna, but we were shocked to receive a massive family size portion with the lunch menu. But it was not great... There were dry inedible pasta edges, & parts where the pasta doesn't have sauce in between & it's just layers of cooked pasta stuck together. There were also a lot of whole cloves in the sauce for some reason, & my daughter hurt her tooth biting one. The minestrone soup that came with the lasagna was just average diner soup, possibly canned soup heated up. Overall, the meal was heavy & what you'd expect of an average diner. Not great but not awful. Also the lunch special was supposed to come with coffee & a dessert, which would have been way too much food, considering the massive portions, but I did notice that the waitress didn't bring it up & ask if we wanted it. On the plus side, it's cool to eat in a vintage diner, & I wish we had a coin to try the jukebox at the table. We didn't find out if they worked or not.
BEST DINER ON EARTH. Their smoked meat spaghetti is one of my favourite comfort foods. I went there every week when I lived in montreal. One of the best places in the world. So special. May it live forever!

vous voulez un vrai restaurant "brun" ou "diner", typique & sympa? & bien, c'est exactement ça que vous allez obtenir. Très satisfait autant du service (rapide & cordial) que de la quantité & la qualité de la bouffe reçue. J'ai commandé une poutine au smoked meat, elle était bonne & mon ami a commandé l'assiette jumbo smoked meat & il en a eu pour son argent, c'était plutôt immense! en plus, il y avait un 2*1 sur la bière & ils ont des micros locales (belle gueule, cheval blanc, etc...).
Tried Green Spot for lunch The interior is cute, vintage vibes. We tried many items & everything was delicious. The poutine is to die for. Im so in love with their smoked meat sandwich. Best poutine in the world. The smoked meat is excellent. The fries are some of the best in the univers. Club sandwich is 5 stars. Breakfast is the best in the city. Be careful, this place becomes addictive very quickly.
La poutine s'est démarqué du reste (8/10) Le burger Popeye est bon (7/10) Le sandwich smoked meat est bien (7/10) Prix raisonable , beaucoup de choix sur le menu Bien occupé , gros volume de clients versus le volume de serveuse donc être patient dans les heures de pointes
Leur smoked meat est fade, sec & manque sérieusement d'épices. De plus, j'ai trouvé que leur sandwich est plutôt petit. Il est évident que le monde qui aime le smoked meat chez Greenspot n'a jamais été chez Schwartz's pour goûter l'authentique. Mais bon! Il n'y a peut-être rien de mieux à proximité du Greenspot... pis le monde doit s'en contenter.
Service rapide... mais les assiettes m'ont été un peu trop garochées sur la table. Pas très professionnel !
