Greenspot se présente comme un bistrot montréalais par excellence, reconnu pour ses sandwichs smoked meat et sa poutine légendaire, des portions généreuses, un service rapide et sympathique et une ambiance rétro qui donne l'impression d'etre chez soi, avec des prix raisonnables et une cuisine réconfortante; bien que quelques critiques portent sur la constance de la poutine ou sur le service, l'impression générale est celle d'une institution où l'on revient pour une expérience simple et authentique.
As a longtime Southwest resident, this has to be one of the best restaurants in the area. It may not be'trendy/instagrammable' (to be fair, it's an old school style of restaurant) but you can always count on Green Spot to get something comforting & fufilling at a decent price.
Their poutine is great. & I highly recommend their'Special hotdog' (Fries inside the hotdog)
It was my first night on my first-ever trip to Montreal (back in November 2025), & a friend of mine back home (who is Montreal born & raised) highly recommended that I should go here for a bite to eat.
After getting checked into my hotel room earlier in the evening, I decided to make this my first stop.
After my server led me to a table by the TV, I ordered the St-Henri poutine & an orange pop. The food was served quicker than I expected (which is not a bad thing) & I then proceeded to do what many Montrealers must have done over many decades while in here, enjoy my poutine while watching the Montreal Canadiens on TV.... 😊😁
The food was fantastic, & Erin the server's attentiveness was great too.
All in all, a very enjoyable experience on my first night in Montreal!

I have come here the entirety of my studies for a hearty meal after long hours at the library, & they never disappoint.
The preparation is quick, the meal is warm & delicious, & they don't hesitate to go heavy on the cheese & the sauce.
I particularly like the Bonheur D'Occasion, it is my favorite by far. I highly recommend for those who want a twist on the classic but do not eat meat!
Lovely people, lovely food, lovely place. Great for a dinner between friends or family to warm up from the winter.
It was a great experience at this place with my daughter. I really enjoyed the burger although I would have loved it to be more spicy. Yea I am from the Islands & we love our spices.

Greenspot is an institution & the brunch always slaps. The vibes are great for a classic diner, & the service is usually very quick. The fruits are fresh & the service is friendly. Waffles recipe has changed & they are now sweet Belgian waffles (not to my preference but objectively delicious if you like those). Would recommend to anyone visiting Montreal, or any locals who haven't swung by in a while. You won't be disappointed!
Dining here makes you feel like you're going back in time. Atmosphere was pleasant & service was good. I'm a Montrealer & I've tried many poutines & I was so disappointed by the poutine here. The gravy was way too dark & thick & the cheese wasn't even slightly melted. Never again. The sub however was excellent but I don't recommend their poutines.
We had hot dogs, pepperoni poutine, smoked meat sandwich & a sub sandwich.
The sub sandwich took forever forever forever to come - the waitress apologized twice for the delay - so I wouldn't recommend ordering - it's just a big smoked meat sandwich anyway.
The smoke meat sandwich is deceptively small - the bread is like a fig leaf on the meat. Eat one for lunch & you don't need dinner. The meat was delicious & tender. Recommend.
The pepperoini poutine was really good. Very generous portions.
Here for a few days & was referred to this restaurant. The experience is one for the books & will definitely recommend it to anyone in town looking for comfort food! Our waiter Cody helped to make the experience pleasant. Food was great too! Bacon was cooked to perfection & the smoked meat was flavourful.
Looking forward to our many future visits!

This is the spot for a great Montreal Poutine. The best gravy in town! Sandwiches are great too, I usually take the smoked meat sandwich. Service is pretty good (although a bit slow at times because it's always super busy!) & the vibe is awesome! It takes you back to the good old days. Totally recommend.
Classic Québécois diner serving wonderful poutine (27 varieties) & smoked meat sandwiches among other classic diner eats. The Classique is a perfect poutine with dark rich gravy & perfectly squeaky cheese curds. Best gravy in town. I would recommend the medium smoked meat sandwich also. A must visit when in Montréal.
Super cool & old-school, I would say this is the best poutine in Montreal. I highly recommend the St. Henry Witch, which comes with pieces of steak. One important thing that caught my eye is that their fries are not soggy & are real fries, not the pre-made ones.
