I loved it so much the flavors were amazing, the onion brothers was fire. Oliver's service was great too. $50 pp & $30 AYCE after 9pm on weekdays.
We had such a good experience. Our server Will take such a good care of us & suggest lots of nice food to order. The broth was delicious & everything we ordered. We will come back soon for sure.
Haven't been back in a while but Haidilao never disappoints! The food quality is always really good & fresh, I highly recommend the Sukiyaki broth :) Our waiter Steven was incredibly nice & attentive too!!
Used to be our favorite spot for vegetarian hotpot, but despite their website boasting them being vegetarian friendly, they've recently made the decision to add chicken powder to every soup base with no substitution possible, meaning its now impossible to eat there as a vegetarian.
When they told us this we went to leave but they insisted we stay & they would find a broth for us. After about 30 minutes of waiting they came out with hot water with seaweed in it, which really did not work at all. It was such an odd & comically bad situation. I really hope they go back to the old tomato & mushroom broths & just keep the chicken powder separate. Literally every other hot pot place has the option to make their broth vegetarian.
The service was alright, maybe it was just an off night. We had a birthday at our table that we told the waiter about but there was no singing or candle on the dessert. The service here compared to the ones in Toronto is a bit lacking. We also had no meat tongs until the dancing noodle guy came & took some to stir the noodles in our broth.
Nonetheless good food & clean sauce bar !
Update: Charles from Haidilao Montreal reached out & apologized for our experience. I appreciate Haidilao Montreal taking our feedback seriously. I hope future diners experiences will be better than ours!
I hate writing this review but this is by far the worst Haidilao my partner & I have been to. The Markham, DT Toronto, & Scarborough locations are far superior. We both did the 31.99 evening all you can eat. We started eating at 10:08. To start the waiter did not check in on us once the entire meal & we did not get meat tongs until 20 minutes into the meal. Our broths were not refilled the entire meal & we were basically cooking with tomato & mushroom sludge by the end (added photo). Additionally, some of the all you can eat items were not refilled once during the entire meal leaving us missing out on some items.
The worst part is that we still had over 15 minutes left (1 hour & 30 limit; my partner timed it) & he came over & turned off our burner while we were cooking something. Didn't ask if we were done & didn't give us any warning.
We were the only table in his area doing AYCE & we were the only ones ignored. He filled the other tables broth & poured them water.
Beyond the table service the kitchen & hostess were both great. The food came out fast, the food itself was great, & the hostess was really nice when we came into the restaurant.
We won't be returning to the Montreal Haidilao but we will go back to the ones in the GTA.
When we first came here it was our first hotpot experience & we found it interesting but a little rushed, & overwhelming. However after a second visit we expressed this, the care we received from management was truly great, very kind people. They made sure everything was right for us afterwards & let us stay as long as we wanted. The buffet is better bang for the buck but be aware that not all broths & meats from the after 5pm menu are included. Although lamb might not be for us, we found the whole experience quite interesting despite the unfamiliar flavours. The laksa broth we found was of the best. Be warned even the less spicy of the two spicy broths is very spicy & mouth numbing.
They dance when they make your FRESH noodles, THEY SING HAPPY BIRTHDAY & give you cake... they dressup in beautiful dragon costumes & open until 4 a.m. I MEAN.... what more can you ask for? & the food is DELICIOUS the pork bone broth...YUMMMM highly reccomend. & if you come SIT IN OLIVER'S section!!! Best service 10/10
Visited Fondue Haidilao in Montreal once, & it left a very good impression. The restaurant is bright, clean, & well organized, & the staff were friendly & attentive throughout the meal. The broths were flavourful, the ingredients fresh, & everything came out quickly despite how busy the place was. It has that lively, energetic hot?pot atmosphere that Haidilao is known for, but still feels comfortable & easy to enjoy even on a first visit. Overall, a solid & satisfying experience - I'd happily come back the next time I'm in Montreal.
Amazing atmosphere & service. The broths tasted very good & food selection was great. They are usually very busy so reservations are a must. At 7pm daily there's a short & fun Sichuan opera performance. It's definitely on the pricey side, but overall worth the experience. Great service from Kevin today.
This place is incredible & the food is amazing & the customer service is so great very respectful very kind. The spicy broth was really spicy with the numbing effect!! 🥵Our table host was Stevan he is a very generous person so sweet to talk. Overall experience was excellent!! ♥?♥?
Favourite hotpot place in town. Good quality meat, good variety of choices (meat, veggies, sauces, etc) it even comes with a show (1 noodle dance, face mask change dance). Our server Steven was attentive, respectful & friendly, making sure our empty trays were taken care of, fat of the broth skimmed & we had enough broth throughout our meal. Can't recommend enough!
2 word review- Boiled beef. Admittedly Interesting first hot pot experience as a birthday event, food merely ok in general. crazy busy for 3:30pm in the afternoon - cramped seating & difficult getting access to condiment'buffet' area. we ended up not receiving the noodles/demo ordered, the shrimp we thought we ordered via the tablet evidently didnt go though, & when checking with the waiter he didn't see it was missing from the table order & so we ended up waiting a long period pointlessly due to the unresolved oversight. Also never got the' happy birthday' presentation they offered, so more pointless waiting. In the end not impressed overall with what it essentially is: boiled food. The broths were merely acceptable/functional apart from decently tasty Tom Yum. This resto format seems to be designed to maximize cost per person while minimizing ingredients. I'd rather have a good Pho Bo if I wanted blanched beef, & if we'd spent the same amount on standard Chinese food we could have got 5-7 gourmet dishes & had leftovers for a few subsequent meals.
Exceptional service, great late night option.
We love the Tom yum (please don't take it off the menu!)& oat milk broths, & they often have lunch & late night specials like the all you can eat. The all you can eat options change every so often, allowing you to try different options, & they often have special promos & festivities for different holidays so it's worth going back.
You start to know which waiters you like more across your visits, although all of them are more attentive than most restaurants. Oliver is always warm & friendly; if the order isn't right, he'll make sure to make it right even if it means calling the kitchen & going there himself to get your drink.
Learn their secret codes, it's always fun.
Super clean, great amenities they really set a new standard for restaurant service in Montreal.
We had such an amazing experience here! We had the'plonger jusqu'au fond' combo which includes a broth & sauces pp & really got a bang for our buck. They even offered us ice cream at the end! The service was phenomenal from the front desk to our server Will, who was very attentive & patient with our questions. Looking forward to coming back!
went there last night with my friends & this was the most fun ive ever had eating, ever! i already cant wait to go again. the broths were delicious, the meat was flavorful & the fish was so tender it melted in my mouth. they have so many great options for protein & veggies & noodles, we had a hard time choosing. we ate so much food & thought we were gonna pay a fortune but when split amongst 4 people, it was less than 50$! & our server Steven was so fun & welcoming & kind, he made sure our experience was no short of amazing! I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH!!!!!!!
EXCEPTIONAL! you truly forget you're in the middle of Montreal.
It's not our first visit, but every time we come, we discover something new.
Today, we arrived without a reservation & were warmly welcomed by Rui. We waited in the fantastic waiting room filled with games, snacks, & more! Rui also took the time to clearly explain all the features of the restaurant we were curious about & was incredibly sweet. The service was impressively fast, we got our table in under 30 minutes, even though there were a lot of people waiting.
The waitresses who served us, Lily (& Koko on another day), were both really nice & welcoming. There was also another lovely waitress whose name we sadly didn't catch but she gave us dessert))
The broths & passion fruit juices are amazing, & the wagyu was definitely worth trying.
It's clear that the creator of this restaurant chain truly loves what he's doing. I wish all restaurants were like this every small detail is thought through, even down to providing hair ties. All the snacks are specially made for the restaurant. Honestly, the level of effort & passion here is incredible.
5/5 Stars - Worth Every Kilometer of My Questionable Life Choices.
I drove 2 hours-yes, TWO full hours-just to eat at Haidilao, & honestly, if I had to walk barefoot through a snowstorm uphill both ways, I'd still do it.
This place isn't just a hotpot restaurant-it's a full-blown experience. I came for broth & meat, but stayed for the complimentary coded snacks, the apron they insisted I wear like I was about to perform surgery.
They treated me like royalty. I dropped a napkin & three staff members appeared out of nowhere like ninjas to replace it. I sneezed & someone offered me a warm towel & possibly a life coach.
The broth? Magical. The meats? Tender & majestic. The noodles? Danced in front of me like they were auditioning for So You Think You Can Stretch?
Would I ever go to another hotpot place? No. I'm loyal now, even if it's 2 hours away.
Go to Haidilao. But don't blame me when you find yourself planning your next road trip with a bib & a craving.
First time at a hotpot restaurant, lots of fun, good energy, & the broths were delicious. Our waiter Oliver was excellent, kind, helpful & friendly. He really helped us navigate our first hotpot experience. We will return
