After reading the reviews & the owner responses, I suggest the owners take the feedback & drop the ego. People write reviews for businesses to improve.
I ordered the truffle pasta & the taste was not great. For 38$, it was very underwhelming. I am from Vancouver & suggest the owners visit sopra sotto for some inspiration. Some feedback, perhaps the sauce needs more flavour & the portion could be a bit larger to justify the price.
I was served by the manager who was very friendly & accommodating. Great restaurant vibe, has a lot of potential. Long story short, do not order the truffle pasta.
This was our first time at F1 in Montreal. We had booked Fiorellino as one of our night excursions for dinner with a few friends. We knew something was different when we arrived, the atmosphere, the smell of fine food, & the friendly vibe. As we were brought to our seating spot, we were greeted by friendly service. Our waiter, Patrick was fantastic from start to finish. There was no wait time, as we had reserved ahead of time & were promptly seated. As we awaited for our friends, we were greeted by Phil, who informed us that we were being seated at a new booth & we were the first guests to enjoy it. I believe he was responsible for managing & operating the restaurant. It was positioned centrally so we had a great view of the restaurant, yet not crowded or noisy. We felt like royalty & VIPs. The music was great as arranged by the DJ, it was a busy night full of festivities. Unfortunately, our guests could not make it, so we had the booth all to ourselves, & what an experience!! Phil & Patrick were regularly checking in with us to make sure all was good. Not having been here before, I asked Phil for his recommendations & they were superb selections. We started off with Burrata, this was beyond appetizing. Then we had pasta with truffle oil infused & it was out of this world. Al dente the way pasta was meant to be eaten. This was followed by Wagyu strips delicately prepared & seasoned to perfection with various vegetable garnishes that added to the presentation & taste experience. We finished this meal with two originally created cocktails from Patrick not only a great server but a phenomenal mixologist!!! The drinks were amazing!!! I can only say to any of you visiting Montreal, if you want a dining experience out of this world, this is the place to be. Great location & value all in one!!! Thank you Phil & Patrick for the hospitality, service, quality of food, & experience. We will be back soon to visit, hopefully at the same booth! Gino & Max
The vibe of the restaurant was great. Even though they were busy, our server still made an effort to provide good service, which we really appreciated.
We tried the Bietola Salad based on our server's recommendation, & it was honestly the best salad I've ever had 10/10, so flavorful & fresh. We also had the Bucatini pasta, which was decent, about a 7/10. The Cacio e Pepe pizza was okay, probably a 6/10.
To top it off, they surprised us with a tiramisu for dessert, & it was absolutely delicious another 10/10.
Overall, it was a really nice experience. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Visiting friends in town who took me here, & the atmosphere was really fun with a live DJ (Friday night) & good vibes. I cannot recommend getting the carpaccio, for 22$ you get the thinnest slices of pear & barely anything for your money. The tartare was good, & the pizzas were nice as well. Nothing fancy.
Where I have the most issues is with the price of drinks... Just get a cocktail from the menu! I ordered two gin & tonics with a shot of St-Germain liquor extra in each, which ran me to 25$ a drink. 50$ for two gin & tonics, no warnings from the waitstaff either. They weren't anything special, nor top shelf liquor. I had quite the shock when the bill came, & honestly felt deflated leaving the restaurant. The vibes are good, but they cannot justify this in my opinion.
We waited an hour & a half for our food.
Our reservation was for 7:00 pm-we were seated at 7:15 & had our order in by 7:30. By 8:00, we still did not get our food & we were told our food had been accidentally given to another table. It honestly felt like our order may not have been put in at all. Both were frustrating. Our food was served to us by 8:30pm. Throughout the evening, service was lacking-no water refills & very little check-in from our server.
Also disappointed, as we were celebrating a birthday & noticed other tables receiving a small dessert for special occasions, but nothing was acknowledged for us.
The food itself was good, but overpriced. The vibe is nice if you enjoy loud music.
I was really excited to try this place, but unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. I won't be returning
Fiorellino is a quintessential Montréal spot! It's gorgeous, perfectly located downtown, & always buzzing with energy. I've been coming here since 2016, & it remains a staple for a great pizza in Montréal!
The Vibe & Service:
I almost always visited on Friday or Saturday evenings, & you should know: it is packed & very loud. They did have a DJ playing music (vibes 10/10), which creates a great atmosphere, but the tables are very close to each other, so expect an intimate (& noisy) experience!
Logistics can be a bit of a shuffle. This time we had a 7:00 PM reservation for six people, but still spent 10 minutes huddled in the cold, cramped entryway before being moved to the bar. We weren't seated at our actual table until 20-30 minutes past our reservation time. Service over the years has been consistently'average' but functional, but definitely felt the pressure of the weekend rush.
The Food & Drinks:
The food is the saving grace. The cocktails are fantastic & well-crafted. The pizza is the absolute star as the dough is incredibly light & airy with that perfect wood-fired char. I've tried the gnocchi & the polpete (meatballs) in the past; they are delicious, though definitely on the pricier side for the portions.
Verdict:
Go for the incredible pizza & the energy. It's a great spot if you're looking for a lively weekend scene, but just don't expect a quiet conversation or a perfectly timed table!
The vibe is warm & lively, just noisy enough to feel alive without being annoying. The service is fast, friendly, & doesn't overdo it. Big generous portions, high-quality ingredients, & flavors that actually feel legit. Honorable mention for the carrot cake…worthy of a sixth star on its own. Had a great time, thanks again!
Wife & I had a great time at Fiorellino. Great vibes, great drinks, great food.
