Crêperie Chez Suzette is described as a popular Old Montreal spot with a wide range of crepes and fondue, generous portions, and friendly, attentive service, and the atmosphere is often noted as cozy and relaxed with windows that add charm. Guests frequently call the food delicious and the staff welcoming, and many appreciate gluten free options and a menu that covers breakfast, lunch, and dessert, though some visits are marked by higher prices, occasional slow or uneven service, and a few bland or overcooked dishes. Overall, the reviews suggest a warm, crowd pleasing experience that invites return to try more items and share a fondue or a dessert crepe with family or friends.
As much as I hate to leave a one-star review, I need to attract attention to the staff/owner of this restaurant.
I greatly enjoyed the food here when I last visited Montreal almost a decade ago so I was happy to see the restaurant had survived the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the evening of Sunday April 19, I saw this restaurant was closing at 9pm so I decided to walk hurriedly from the hotel to Old Montreal & when I arrived outside the restaurant, I snapped a photo happily because I had good memories of the food, the timestamp said 7:57pm.
Right as I was about to enter, a male individual inside flipped the sign from ouvert to ferme. I looked at the posted time of operation hours on both the restaurant & Google Maps, it said 9:00pm was closure.
I walked past the restaurant & saw multiple parties inside that had clearly just sat down & were looking at a menu waiting to order but the man & another woman were walking around stacking chairs.
I understand last call & making preparations to close but over a hour before your time listed is a little ridiculous. No attempt was made to offer the two individuals standing directly outside the door to come in for some warm, comfort French cuisine.
Dejected, we ended up at another restaurant nearby that was still open. I would suggest if you actually do want to close at 8pm, you list 8pm as your hour of closure for Sundays instead of 9pm.
For anyone who wants to come here for food, it would seem the solution is don't come one hour before closing, come before then.

We had a wonderful dinner here after a long day of traveling & sightseeing. Katia helped seat us & take our orders. She was both helpful & delightful, & set the tone for our experience. The food arrived quickly, was piping hot & delicious! The place was bustling, but maintained a lovely ambience. Overall, great experience!

What looks like a cute little corner restaurant had three floors of tables. The food was very good. My husband had the ham & egg crepe with maple syrup & I had the leak & gruyere quiche. Even better than the food was the service. Our server was funny & attentive offering suggestions without being pushy! Great brunch prior to our day of seeing the sights.
Excellent experience.
Host was prompt & attentive.
Seated quickly - served in a friendly manner.
Food was delicious. Portion sizes generous.
Good vibes.
I really enjoyed the place. The food was great, & the staff were very nice & friendly. I had a very pleasant experience & would definitely come back again.
