Reviews paint Crêperie Chez Suzette as a cozy Old Montreal staple with a wide range of crepes, both savory and sweet, and generous portions that many diners find comforting and satisfying. The service is commonly described as fast, friendly, and attentive, though a few visits mention moments of busyness or slower pacing. Fondue is a frequent highlight, especially the cheese fondue, with accompanying accoutrements earning high praise, while some notes mention portions and balance with the mains could be improved. Crepes are lauded for rich fillings and delicate skins, with favorites ranging from smoked salmon to shrimp and desserts like crepe Suzette, though a minority finds some savory options bland or the pricing a bit high. Gluten free options are available and appreciated by diners with gluten sensitivities, though cross contamination concerns are mentioned in a few experiences. The atmosphere and location are described as charming and tourist friendly, with window seating and a European vibe, while some rooms feel less decorated. Overall, the reviews suggest Crêperie Chez Suzette is a dependable choice for crepes in Montreal, inviting return visits to try more items.
Worst experience ever. This is the worst onion soup I've ever had. I hope this review will be helpful to anyone going there specifically for the onion soup. The soup is bland & lacks depth of flavor. The bread inside, despite being soaked in the soup, is so hard you can't even bite through it.
However, since I couldn't bear to waste food, I decided to finish everything.
As I was eating, I found the bread at the bottom of the onion soup was too hard to eat, so I told the waiter about it.
The waiter said he'd check with the chef & headed toward the kitchen.
After that, he went back to work as if nothing had happened.
He then came to ask for payment as if nothing had happened.
When I mentioned the onion soup, he asked if I didn't want to pay. Then, in a high-handed manner, he insisted that I had eaten the onion soup.
I had every intention of paying the bill & leaving a 20% tip, but for some reason, he started lecturing me, insisting that I had eaten the onion soup.
Even while I was paying, he never once looked away from the screen, as if to make sure I was leaving the tip.
This is the first time I've ever had a meal with such a rude server.
When I got home, my stomach started hurting, as if I had mild food poisoning.
I left a tip, but the service was so terrible that I honestly felt like giving a 0% rating.
I can't understand why they were so intimidating & lectured me like that.
I've never given a one-star rating or anything like that in past reviews, so as not to upset the restaurant.
You must try onion soup - it was so amazing✨
It was topped with grilled cheese, & there was delicious onion soup under it
We also ordered the smoked salmon crepe & the shrimp crepe
Both were delicious, but I preferred the shrimp one🦐

Pretty bland n tasteless savory crepes. The sweet crepe was slightly better.. but not worth trying. It's just very ordinary nothing special crepes. The wine in cheese fondue was overpowering which made every taste of the cheese fondue bitter. Onion soup was the only better thing there, so we ended up having to fill our stomachs with multiple onion soups....
The waitress kept forgetting basic things like bringing utensils, plates n coffee..... It's definitely not a come back to restaurant
We had the most wonderful French cuisine experience here! Just a week after our wedding, we visited this restaurant for my husband's birthday lunch during our honeymoon, & it was truly unforgettable.
We chose a course menu that included cheese fondue, beef bouillon fondue, & a dessert crêpe. The beef bouillon, after cooking all the ingredients, became so rich & flavorful...! it reminded me of a beautiful French onion soup. I even asked for some in a coffee cup to savor it! The dessert crêpe was also outstanding, with aroma of liqueur & a slice of orange adding the perfect finishing.
The food was not only top quality but the wine pairing elevated the whole experience. I'll never forget the perfect marriage of the cheese fondue & Pinot Grigio that our server recommended.
This restaurant gave us such a special memory, & we will absolutely return the next time we visit Montreal!
A wonderful, cozy creperie offering delicious food, excellent prices, & outstanding service. A must-visit for crepe lovers! Also, the Onion Soup is amazing!

Went here for brunch & had the shrimp crepe as the main dish. It was surprisingly good! We were initially unsure about the combination of sweet crepe with savory shrimp & cheese, but it actually worked really well. Definitely recommend trying it! For appetizers, we had the French onion soup & escargot, & both were just okay. The onion soup was a bit too salty, & the escargot felt pretty ordinary, with small snails. The service was excellent. They checked in on us at just the right times, & our table by the window was perfect, with the sunlight streaming in (such a nice atmosphere!
Came in solo, ordered the savory crepe with asparagus, ham, Swiss & béchamel & a cafe mocha - both were really good! Service was friendly, sat me right by a window, & was attentive to my table. I'd come back & try the French onion soup, fondue &/or the sweet crepes because they have a lot of great options!
THE MOST HORRIBLE SERVICE & great food! I had tasty crapes, onion soup & mulled wine 🍷but the service is the most horrible u ever seen. Not friendly, not polite, horrible manager, host & servants. We were waiting for our good for approximately 40-60 mins. Tables that came after us received their food much faster & no one didn't explain why.
The French onion soup is amazing ! Coupled with the cheese it's a must have in Old MTL. Loved the outside seating & old mkntreal atmosphere. Fairly expensive, I could eat that French onion soup daily, sooooo so good !!
Creperie Chez Suzette in Old Montreal is a delightful spot for a delicious meal. The baked French onion soup is rich & flavorful, making it a perfect start. The Caesar salad with chicken breast is fresh & nicely prepared, a great option for a lighter bite. The club sandwich stands out with its crispy bacon & fresh salad, offering a satisfying experience. Their smoked salmon crepe is truly top-class, blending savory flavors perfectly. & for dessert, the Nutella crepe is simply the best-decadent & irresistible. With its cozy atmosphere & excellent dishes, Creperie Chez Suzette is a must-visit for food lovers.
Very close together table setting outside, the onion soup was tasteless, they must use chicken broth, little onion. Escargot was just ok, & we had creperie suzette had more of a watered down syrup, no orange taste. The orange slices on it where difficult to eat with the rind still on. Very disappointed. The wine was very good.

If you are craving a crepe this is the place. They also have pretty good French onion soup. Place feels a little dated but when your food is good who cares about the decor? Enjoy your crepes!
