My wife & I ate at Casavant while visiting Montreal this weekend & had an all around lovely experience. We were definitely the only non-Francophones in attendance but all staff from the owners to servers were so kind & helpful. They helped us through the wine list & we ended up with a perfect bottle. We shared the scallops, beef tartare, duck & seabass. All four dishes were incredible, but the scallops were a favourite. One of the owners made us a list of other restaurants, bars & sites to see when he found out it was our first time in Montreal.
All around great experience & would highly recommend.
Nice Little resto. Best scallops I've ever had. Tasting menu at 75$ is a very good way to discover the restaurant if it's your first time. They also had a dinner reasonably priced wines, within context. I can't wait to go back.
What a wonderful place - staff was warm & welcoming, & let me have small tastes of a lot their wine. Bartender guided me to exactly what I wanted. The scallop & sea bass dishes were divine.

incredible meal from start to finish, probably my most enjoyable restaurant experience in Montréal! the scallops were the highlight of our meal & the sea bass & duck breast were elegant. I'd go back just to enjoy the great interior design & excellent music. amazing place🙌🏾
Great restaurant. They don't have a tasting menu but we went there & told them to surprise us. They were delighted & we loved the experience. We got 5 courses to share. Everything was delicious, but the highlights were the scallops, the fish (especially the sauce) as well as the foie gras. I forgot to take pics of the best stuff except the foie gras. It looked too good to wait & take a pic… Price wise, for the quality & generous portions, it's a bargain. All in all, I highly recommend!
We enjoyed our dinner here last night. We had a late dinner reservation & was very satisfied. Our server was attentive. The restaurant only had French menu & he described each dish in English lol. We ordered the steak tartare, scallops, sea bass & hanger steak. We didn't get dessert as we had some waiting for us at home. Also ordered wine & cocktails which was delicious.
Incredible experience from start to finish! Made a reservation for 8:30 on Saturday (28/06) & was lucky to seat on a perfect table facing their beautiful window! The restaurant was full but it wasn't noisy at all, the decoration, the cutlery & dishware were all so pretty. Besides that the lighting was great, cozy without being too dark.
Every single dish was a hit! The ail des bois butter was fantastic, the oysters so fresh & briny, the scallops with chorizo still haven't left my mind, & the morels stuffed w chicken liver & cooked in yellow wine was ridiculously good!
Our server was fantastic (I think his name was Sam), extremely attentive, & knowledgeable helping us choose the best sequence of services, making a great wine pairing & always making sure everything was going well, he definitely made our experience at the restaurant even better! I can't recommend casavant enough, I'll definitely be coming back :)
Excellent service, both friendly & efficient. I like their cool jellyfish looking light fixture but I wish they had them throughout. Nice decor overall.
Great wine recommendation, Coretto was a lovely espresso-based cocktail.
Oysters were 3 & 3. The fleshy ones were delicious, but the smaller ones were tasteless. Loved the mignonette, wasn't the typical one.
Terrine special was good, but poorly presented. Loved how spicy the mustard was, & the apricot was nice as well. Scallops were nice, but was expecting more than what amounted to chorizo powder, bits would have worked better I think.
Lamb saddle was delicious & full flavour but a bit too salty.
Chou was delicious but would be better if the crust was slightly crispier.
The scallop is the only one that good
The pasta & lobster were not great..lack of flavour & pasta was very hard & cold
Hanger beef was small size..way too small
