10/10. I actually have no words. You have to try for yourself. Probably my favorite out of any restaurant I've tried thus far. The tomato dish & the strawberry dessert in particular will be on my mind forever now. Exceptional food, pacing, service, attention to detail, use of ingredients... needless to say I'll have to return whenever I'm in the city again. ❤?

L'expérience chez Casavant a été exceptionelle! Les morilles farcies (au foie gras...?) ont été un réel coup de coeur. Tous les autres plats ont été aussi excellents & nous ont fait découvrir plein de saveurs. Un menu court, qui'punche' très fort! La stout Île de la nuit était aussi bonne.

Came with my friend for a casual dinner hangout. The place was beautifully decorated, in a quieter area but still close to Jean Talon. The waitress was super friendly right from start to finish & walked us through the menu in detail. We shared the pain d'automne, bar à la grenobloise, squid-ink pasta, & strawberry pavlova. Everything was rich & a very pleasant combination of different flavours. The fish was crispy on the outside & soft on the inside, & the pasta was flavourful & the texture was excellent, very chewy! Highly recommend if you have the chance!
Le restaurant, l'ambiance & le service sont exceptionnels! J'ai surtout apprécié Alexe qui nous a servi au bar. Elle est professionnelle & nous a recommandé les meilleurs plates du menu (on a quasiment tout commandé ;)). Notre coup de coeur, les pétoncles & le bar à la grenobloise!

Casavant is one of my favourite restaurants in Montreal. Every one of their dishes are delicious. They do have a rotating menu but, I believe the scallops & sea bass are staples! The scallops are a must order for seafood lovers (like me) & I also tried the paccheri neri au homard & it was amazing. The lobster was perfectly cooked & the bisque was rich & creamy. For proteins, I preferred the duck over the steak. The duck was more flavourful & had a better cook than the steak in my opinion.
A truly outstanding neighborhood bistro. Everything you could want - super warm service, creative & delicious food, & a value driven wine list. Highly recommend as a do not miss in Montreal.
My friend & I went last night with our teenage sons. We all loved the experience. The food was exceptional, unique pairings of things that may not always go together, but were out of this world. Loved the beef tartare, tomato/sardine combination, duck, seabass, hangar steak. Pretty much everything we ate. I think the service especially stood out. The kitchen was slammed & our mains took longer to get to us. We were not in a rush but it was nice that that waitstaff acknowledged it & comped our dessert. An unexpected, yet thoughtfful gesture that goes a long way.

The food was fantastic. Not really much to find fault with. The standout was the Sea Bass. Perfectly cooked & the buttery lemon sauce complemented the fish to a T.
Vibe was great. Not at all pretentious & feels like a spot where the neighbourhood comes to hang out.
