Review Summary

Café Parfums de Perse is described as a warm, cozy, family run spot with a contemporary yet traditional Persian ambiance, offering authentic Northern Iranian dishes such as Fesenjan, Mirza Ghasemi and Baghali Ghatogh, and a dessert and drink lineup including saffron cake, pistachio cake, baklava and the Persian latte that many find memorable; reviewers praise the welcoming staff, the homely decor, and the option to relax with board games, but also note that prices can be high for portion size and a few dishes can be inconsistent in flavor or experience, with some comments about the billing and a few service missteps; overall it comes across as a charming, authentic Persian experience where the desserts and drinks shine and the atmosphere makes it a popular spot for brunch, casual meals, or a casual hangout, and many emphasize that the hospitality and family run feel contribute to a memorable visit.

Saffron cake & persian latte or persian tea are a heavenly match. Such a mystical experience.

Very friendly staff! They offered us a Persian cold drink while we were waiting to get a table. We tried pistachio cake & black tea, also tried the Saffron pistachio ice cream, very tasty 😊 I hope upstairs will be open soon!

This was one of the best experiences I've had at a Persian café in Montreal. The venue is fully accessible & accommodating for people with disabilities & those using assistive devices. The accessible washroom was a particularly nice touch. The café also features a charming patio & a cozy indoor ambiance. I visited on a rainy day & arrived much earlier than my scheduled meeting with a friend. Despite being a first-time customer, I was treated like an old friend. The quality of the coffee, tea, & food was excellent, & the prices were very reasonable. I tried their Persian coffee, Persian tea, & mirza ghasemi, all of which were delightful. What stood out most to me was their hospitality-they had no issue with me sitting there for a couple of hours before my friend arrived. They ensured I was comfortable, even providing access to a power outlet so I could work on my laptop. They struck the perfect balance between attentive care & giving me the privacy I needed to feel at ease. They even went above & beyond by assisting me to the washroom, which I found incredibly considerate. When I thanked them, they responded warmly, saying, "Don't mention it; we're here for you." This is definitely a place I'll be returning to, & I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Persian food, a warm ambiance, & an accessible space in the heart of Old Port Montreal.

Absolutely lovely place! Came for breakfast & enjoyed an amazing platter of veggies, stewed lentils, & the most INCREDIBLE omelette. Absolutely delicious & tasted like the best home cooking. Service was 10/10 (they gave us a delicious rose slushie on the house while we were chatting with the owners) & we thoroughly enjoyed the Darjeeling tea as well. Could not recommend enough. Definitely a hidden gem!!!

I ordered Mirzaghesemi for the main course & tea with saffron cake for dessert, everything was so delicious & tasted homemade.

This cafe is wonderful from start to finish. This is comfort food with no ego, just excellent cooking with warm & friendly service. I wish I lived here so I could come back weekly - uh, SO GOOD! I had the special, which was a chicken dish in a nearly black sauce over saffron rice - don't know what it was called. I also had the ice in heaven drink & a saffron cake, of course with tea after.

We stopped in the week after they opened here. The family who operates this café are very warm & friendly. We didn't know what to order so they made great suggestions for us. We had a lamb dish in traditional spices served along side a basmati type rice. It was delicious. The tea served after our meal was exceptional as well as a house made pistachio cake. We can't wait to go back!
