Fondé à Montréal et la toute première sous-marque de Fuwa Fuwa, Café Noya offre une nouvelle approche sur la cuisine japonaise dans une place unique de café et bar. Il sert des plats réconfortants faits maison.
Les avis décrivent Café Noya comme un petit café japonais mignon et cosy près de McGill, avec une ambiance décontractée et une carte variée incluant des gyoza, des desserts et une belle sélection de boissons au matcha. Le bouillon et l'udon au boeuf sont salués pour leur chaleur et leur profondeur, les onigiris sont frais et savoureux, et le tiramisu matcha ainsi que d'autres desserts donnent envie, tandis que certaines portions restent petites par rapport au prix et quelques plats manquent parfois de notes de miso ou de champignons. Le service est généralement sympathique et efficace, même si les heures d'affluence peuvent entraîner des retards et des commandes parfois mal gérées. L'environnement, propice aux études et agréablement décoré, attire les étudiants et les visiteurs avec des prix raisonnables pour les boissons, faisant de Café Noya une option décontractée et fiable pour une pause japonaise casual et une bonne expérience de matcha.
The mushroom udon had fewer mushrooms in it than the chicken teriyaki bowl. Ordered 2 plates of gyozas both were barely warm, we asked for them to be re-heated, I had to to & check if they had reheated them & collect them, they were still barely warm, this was unfortunate as they were nice, just cold. The pistachio latte was nice, the chicken teriyaki was decent too. The basque cheesecake was average, the nicest part was the pistachio cream on top. The service was ok but they seemed a bit rushed. The food was nice but the service & food being cold & the mushroom dish having very little mushroom was disappointing for the price.
The ube latte does not taste like ube at all. I think the taste of the coffee overpowered the very week ube syrup.
Also, it does not look like the picture at all. There was no purple.
Otherwise, the coffee part is good.
The unagi onigiri was perfect. There's a 10% discount for students.

they have lots of seating available so you're always sure to have a spot! the food tastes great & there's a diverse selection of drinks on the menu that ranges from teas to lattes. my personal go-to is the passion fruit black tea, which is amazing during summer.
i've encountered a couple minor problems like staff not calling out my order when it was finished so i had to wait 20mins for a drink before i had to ask them myself, but nothing too dramatic.
So I got a super cursed matcha latte from them this morning. The matcha itself was good, tastes the same as Starbucks'. But the lid couldn't close properly because the edge of the cup was for some reason indented all around, & I didn't realize this until I took a sip & it spilled on me. I tried to drink it without the lid & obviously knock over the cup. I also don't like how there's almost no option to not tip. Overall wouldn't buy from them again.
Ordered the matcha latte: too sweet
& a cheesecake, which was mid.
But they took like 40mins in giving us the cheesecake, which was literally on the display already made, plus when I was trying to ask if the cheesecake was ready after like 30mins they kept ignoring me. (It wasn't a busy day)

I came with my husband for lunch on Sunday, the 28th of September. It was clearly a popular spot, judging by the number of people inside. I ordered one matcha & one latte, & both were really good. The blonde girl at the counter was really sweet, & she even made latte art on my drink! I will be coming back. :)
The food is really good!! I enjoyed my dining experience! & the staff was really sweet & attentive! I recommend their chashu porc croissant but honestly the whole menu is great. ✨
Really great service & amazing food. My friend & I got the miso mushroom udon & the beef udon & it was delicious! I would also recommend the Hojicha latte.
