The pastries tasted defrosted rather than fresh. The chai latte was so sweet it was undrinkable. The large cappuccino cup was only half full. Disappointing overall-won't be coming back
We did a pastry crawl to a few bakeries to try croissants, 1 plain, 1 chocolate, & 1 almond. We got the mini versions here & regret we didn't get the regular sized because these were absolutely delicious & our favorite of the 3 bakeries we visited.
This bakery is incredible-it's a place you definitely shouldn't miss. You can choose from a wide variety of sweet breads, & every single one is delicious. My personal favorites are the "mille-feuilles" & "chocolatines." Highly recommended!
Voted best croissant in Montreal. Their pastries are really good & made fresh daily. I ordered a hamburger bun & chocolate financier this time. Limited seating, but better than the other location.
Accueil correct. Bravo pour ces merveilleux croissants, je recommande!
Best croissants, not just Montreal, but ever (& I've been to Paris!). The big chocolate croissant is maybe the best thing I've ever eaten. Amazing. Just go here. Merci!!!
This place used to have the absolute best chocolatine in the area: literally about 100 grams of dark chocolate ! I went back this morning for another one & as soon as the teller gave me the chocolatine, I knew something was wrong because it was so light... nothing compared to the previous visits when you could feel the dense chocolate in the center. I told them & they exchanged it for another "empty" one... I told them the only reason I was coming to hits place was because of the chocolatine & he insisted that they were the same as usual... I took 2 bites & went back inside to show him that this was a "pseudo-chocolatine: dough with air inside". They offer to exchange it again for another one but I declined since he insisted that they were the same. It is really too bad since it is very hard to find a good chocolatine... their new recipe feels like they now use half of the original quantity of chocolate. Please don't waste your money ! *** Answering to the reply from the owner: I totally understand that there can be variations but this is not the case here. The chocolatine you were selling this morning did not compare to the ones last week: they barely had 2 bites of chocolate in them & the teller can confirm that they felt "empty"/full of air.
We got attracted by the sign claiming "Meilleurs Croissants à Montréal" - bold statement for a bakery located on Le Plateau with so many choices around. This may well be true. The unusually large croissants & chocolatines make for a wonderful French pastries based breakfast. Bonus point for the amount of butter they have in them. We love them!
Pastries, chocolates & food overall are great. Croissants are to die for. BUT for the 4 weeks that we have been coming there the service has been consistently unpleasant in many ways. It's a shame because we love the food :
First time in, bought a cake, some pastries, & a couple of croissants. The cake was absolutely heavenly - a raspberry chocolate mousse - light & extraordinarily flavourful. I am not a croissant expert so I can't say if they are the best in Montreal, but they certainly are huge. Staff were lovely btw
one of the best pain au chocolat in mtl & two lovely & very helpful staff that were very approachable & extremely nice 100% recommend & will be back there soon!!!
