Afficher toutrib(69) steak(41) birthday(31) chicken(30) salad(29) attentive(26) recommend(22) tender(20) family(19) dessert(19) drink(17) quality(17)I've been a customer of Baton Rouge at DDO for long time . This time we invited my husband's brother & his wife for dinner .The order was obviousl , the ribs. At first, we received burned ribs, 😭, literally black. They exchange for another one very quickly. This time the ribs were cold inside. It looked like boiled meat with some ketchup on the top. That is not all. That evening we started to fell off a bit. At night my husband got so sick, he vomited 🤮 4 times & I had horrible headache & diarrhea. We realised we got food poisoning. Very disappointing experience. Nobody from my family will go back to this restaurant again. Beside the service was a nightmare. There is so many good restaurants around with good food & nice people to serve you. No reason to spend many on such as crappy food & nasty service.
We've been eating at Baton Rouge for years. Both eat in & take-out & it's been consistently excellent. Until today. We ordered with Uber. Nachos with spinach dip. Ribs, fries & coleslaw. The dip was lack-luster & the portion was tiny. The coleslaw was pure onions, the ribs mediocre & the fries mealy. The only thing that was good were the nachos. Very disappointing. We should have stuck with St Hubert as we initially planned.
Saturday night we reserved a table with some freinds. The server screamed what would we like. Two of us asked for the tempura shrimp then the ribs & chicken meals. Two meals turned up the lady had forgotten the shrimp & the server stands there with the two meals dumfounded what to do. I suggested he take the meals back & bring the shrimp which they had forgotten. Next you manger comes to apologize. Asked for glasses of water. They came like 30 mins later. dessert asked what they had! The same server points to the middle of the table like we were dogs. dessert over there. You know we have been coming to your restaurant for over 20 years & this is the worst service we have ever had. We wanted a seamless evening but with that server it did not happen
Food was good except you tempura shrimp not the same as before just batter. Anyway suggest you get your server trained to behave in a manner not like a drive-thru takeout order. Thanks
Bâton Rouge is the perfect place for a delicious & satisfying meal. Their ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, steaks are cooked to perfection, & every dish is full of flavor. Portions are generous, & the sides are fresh & tasty. The atmosphere is warm & inviting, ideal for both casual dinners & special occasions. The staff is friendly, attentive, & makes sure you have everything you need. Consistently great food & excellent service - a restaurant you'll want to come back to again & again!
Review based on an Uber Eats order: The quality of food has really gone downhill, sadly. I ordered a Thai steak salad & the steak was raw. The salad felt like it came from a premixed bag. The steak was also not great quality (I had to pick the pieces out of the salad it to cook at home). The chocolate cake was very disappointing as well. You can find better cakes at IGA. Giving 2 stars because the ribs are decent…just don't bother with the rest of the menu.
I've been going to Baton Rouge for most of my life, but for the first time today, I felt Shrinkflation at work. The ribs (same price as always) were much smaller & for once I was able to clean up my entire plate & even had room for more. There was also much less sauce on the ribs. 😔
Services is always quick. Calamari always fresh, kids enjoyed the ribs.
Perfect! The pork ribs are awesome!
The cheddar dip was to die, for 😋 I also wanted to say our server was great, very friendly, & attentive to our needs!!
Attentive staff, flavourful food & oh the chocolate mousse was the perfect dessert not too heavy just right --- chocolatey goodness. My filet mignon was spot on, the loaded baked patato yummy!! *edit they no longer make chocolate mousse which is shame because as I mentioned it was the perfect dessert very light yet rich tasting* *edit #2 Every year my mum & I celebrate my birthday at Baton Rouge, it's become a tradition over the years & this year was no different. Why do we always choose this restaurant? The answer is simple excellent service, scrumptious food - the spinach artichoke dip & chips is outta this world, filet mignon cooked to perfection, ribs done just right, garlic mashed potatoes so creamy with just the right amount of garlic, loaded patato - yes please. & the brownie with ice cream- delish. *pics were taken after we started eating, & I gave my mum the veggies from my plate too* *edit #3 celebrated my bday today like years before service was great. My filet mignon wasn't cooked to my liking I asked for medium rare but got well done, they happily replaced it. Our food was fantastic, we shared a ceasar salad & garlic bread if you haven't tried the garlic bread I recommend you do - delicious. Our main meals were also very tasty. I should note I do take out as well from here & am always very satisfied with the quality of food & service.
My family & I recently ate at Baton Rouge DDO on a Saturday night & we had a good experience overall, however, there are some areas that need improvement. The positive: Our large group was accommodated at a big table & there was excellent communication regarding when our table would be available. Our waiter Dallas had a positive attitude & finished the service strong despite a few hiccups along the way as he was taking our orders for drinks & food. The quality of food was very good. My rib steak & fully loaded baked potatoes were on point. Vegetables were OK but are an afterthought at a steak house IMO 😂. The calamari entrée was excellent. My smoked old fashioned & Heineken pint were very good. The not so good areas that need improvement: It took a very long time for us to get our first drink order taken & we were not offered water. It took 30+ minutes for us to receive our drinks after reminding the staff. This is unacceptable. One of our beers were forgotten. This situation was quickly resolved & we were brought the beer as well as an extra one to overdeliver (on the house). This was a nice touch until we were charged for both on our final bills. This was quickly resolved by Dallas who removed the charge. The size of the Caesar salad was half of what it used to be. It was delicious but Baton Rouge is skimping on the portion size. At the end of the meal, there were extra charges on our bills that were later removed, however, this did not end things on a positive note for some of my family. Overall, I would give this restaurant another shot as the food was very good & service while inconsistent, finished strong from the point of delivering our main courses to the end. Dallas was very professional & addressed any concerns that we had. He was kind & compassionate throughout our service.
I suggest you call ahead & reserve to avoid waiting at the door. Food is delicious. We enjoy the spinach dip (usually enough for our group of 2 adults, 2 teenagers & 3 kids), & the ribs remain a staple of this franchise, one they deliver consistently. Baton Rouge is a bit pricier than average, but the food is always good & the service is excellent. Definitely recommend!
Went today for the first time in a while, & noticed prices are higher & how small they portions are now. A plate of rib & fries used to be a full plate & now it covered maybe half of the plate. The food itself was good. They also started charging extra for things that were always included.
The rib dish has shrunk. Costco has the baton rouge ribs but bigger.
I'll always order mashed potatoes 👌🏾 Aside from that, my go-to is ribs. The service is always on point no matter the time I go. Baton Rouge St.Jean will always be one of our favourite places to eat.
Appreciate the food, but why we come back is the service.. & especially Danny! He is attentive & professional... Ribs & Prime rib are always delicious Again thank you Danny
