An amazing dining experience from start to finish! The food was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, & full of authentic flavors. Every dish we ordered was delicious, especially the sushi & sashimi. The staff were friendly, attentive, & made us feel very welcome. The restaurant was clean, cozy, & had a relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent Japanese cuisine. I'll definitely be coming back!
I've been here a few times now, & the food is always consistently good. Everything I've ordered has been fresh, well-prepared, & flavorful. Yes! it's on the pricier side, but the quality has always been worth it
The only thing that keeps this from being a 5-star experience is the service. The staff are polite but they come across as very robotic. They barely say a word to you & they'll often just walk up, pour your water, take your order, & move on without even a simple greeting or any conversation. A friendly'Hi, welcome!' or just a little warmth & personality would make such a big difference. Hospitality is about making guests feel genuinely welcomed not just completing tasks.
The food keeps me coming back, but more engaging & personable service would really elevate the overall experience.
Delicious oysters, high quality seafood, great service & overall beautiful place. You're given hot towels before eating as well. This place is high class & I love it!
Edit: Thought I'd mention that 6 years later, I am still coming back to this place & still enjoying it! Very glad this place is still up & running.
My mom is a frequent customer here, & I've been here a handful of times. Never thought to leave a review before tonight… my mom ordered an item on the menu that she hadn't tried & was excited about. It never came… the waitress asked us if we were finished with our plates once we were done with our meal & when we asked her about the order she told us we never ordered it. We would've asked sooner but she didn't check in on our table during the meal. I specifically remember watching my mother marking one order on the sheet we had handed to her. Shouldn't have been lost in translation given it was in writing, & she insisted my mother never ordered it & wouldn't admit to the possibility of a mistake on her end… was not impressed at all… spoiled the evening for me. Luckily my mother wasn't too fazed as she & always had exemplary service before this evening. However I wanted to try the Wagu that was missed… at least we saved $40!
I was pretty surprised that I enjoyed the food, ngl. Sushi was tasty, rolls were very gaijin but tasty. My husband took the sea bass & the fish was very fresh. Now that being said. Overpriced. Brazzingly so. & you don't need to look far: 12$ for steamed edamame... Given it may be one of the only sushi places in West Island, hence why they probably jack up the price. But to me that was a deciding factor of not returning. Staff was very friendly & atmosphere was beautiful. But the reservation is so insane that apparently my sister in law couldn't bring her mom because we couldn't reserve for 9 people? Couldn't add a chair at the end of the table or something? Not very accomodating
